Here’s the problem. I heard RC doesn’t adjust the price down from what you purchased it at anymore. They made it so when you go in for a sale, it’s always go to be the price you bought it at or higher. I know because I bought it when the sale was crap like 6 months ago, and I always check the prices during big sales (especially black friday) and nope. The sale price is exactly the price I purchased it at already. It’s extremely deceptive, but the only way to really know if you got a good price is if someone else on that same cruise hasn’t booked a drink package yet to see what the true sale price is OR you roll the dice and wait to book it.

Will they refund you straight away if you cancel and get the cheaper package or do they keep the money on your account so you can just reselect that package?

  3. Joe McSherry on January 9, 2023 at 3:53 am

Definitely get the drink package, we’ll worth it when you’re paying 10$ a drink. Then you can have mimosas in the morning something in the afternoon, and you can load up a big cup before you go out on a port.

  4. Michael Voorhees on January 9, 2023 at 3:54 am

At these prices id easily drink $200 a day

  5. Nichole Schacher on January 9, 2023 at 3:55 am

I highly recommend buying the deluxe package. I’m not a big drinker but when you’re on vacation, you definitely want to let loose & relax.

  6. Melinda Wiens on January 9, 2023 at 3:57 am

Can we just buy 1 drink package if one drinks and the other person doesn’t or do 2 guests both have to purchase that package? 🌺
    Thank you.

  7. Random Roadster on January 9, 2023 at 3:57 am

    Always cheaper to bootleg.

  8. Phoenix Playground on January 9, 2023 at 3:57 am

I am guilty. I put it on hold until today, for the cruise that will start in 2 weeks. Last week it was still 35% and today it is 10% off. I just bought it and praying for it to be get down again. Will it?

  9. Ray Nemergut on January 9, 2023 at 3:58 am

I wish they would go back to all inclusive

  10. Nova Bad kitty on January 9, 2023 at 3:59 am

I rarely drink more then five or six drinks in a day so paying 70-100 a day for a drink package just isn’t worth it

  11. Sdubya1 on January 9, 2023 at 4:01 am

Package is too high, drinks are too high. I’ll drink at port. It’s gotten out of control.

  12. Jody Whitehead on January 9, 2023 at 4:02 am

I looked into the possibility of a cruise fall of 21. I saw a drink package at $69 and I thought with how little I drank was it worthwhile. Imagine my surprise when I noticed it was per diem plus 18% tips. lol

  13. Tewchainz on January 9, 2023 at 4:03 am

I just drank strawberry kiwi all afternoon everyday at windjammer when I was on Vision of the seas. 😀

  14. L Scales on January 9, 2023 at 4:04 am

Also can’t get buckets or anything on a drink package.

  15. sylvester on January 9, 2023 at 4:04 am

I have been on 12 RCL cruises and I find that I don’t get the full value of the drink package, cause if you are on a 7 day cruise, the first few days you tend to drink a lot more but after day 3 or 4 your drinking is slowing down and each day now you have less alcohol. I can’t drink anymore to full capacity for 7 days like when I was younger. The body can’t handle that much drinking if you are not normally use to it before you go on the cruise, so therefore I just buy the drink when I want them. Plus, the cruise lines indicate if you are cruising as a couple, then both passengers have to order the drink package and my wife won’t drink as much. I find it quite expensive by the time the cruise ship puts on extra service fees and gratuity of 20%. Note there are free fruit drinks, juice, coffee, milk, tea and ice cream to make your own milkshake, at all the restaurants and buffet location.

  16. David Charles on January 9, 2023 at 4:06 am

Thnx for the advice I have never been on a cruise and I’m planning on taking one this January on royal Caribbean

  17. Kevin Crawford on January 9, 2023 at 4:07 am

Here is an idea. Do all inclusive like me. Once you pay for your trip, all food and drink is paid for. You can visit the area at your leisure without worrying about ship constraints. No dealing with officers with god complexes.

  18. Hadiman Rusli on January 9, 2023 at 4:10 am

Hi, I just wonder, if this drink packages could possibly share with any of our family member while on board?

  19. Amy Titus on January 9, 2023 at 4:10 am

Drink package for my cruise is 98$ a day. Has anyone ever seen it that high? The last cruise I booked in march was 60$ a day.

  20. Jerry Vargo on January 9, 2023 at 4:11 am

With a drink package you can have a glass of wine at dinner , a glass of champayne , a beer , a mixed drink and not worry about it. IN a 14 to 16 hour day on a ship you will drink more than normal. We figure if you drink 6 mixed drinks a day on the ship which is easy to do , you will break even , after that your gaining. We saw a person paying his bill at the end of a cruise and was paying $800.00 for drinks. It is easy to do . Mixed drinks are going for $14.00 plus 18 %gratuity plus tax. Beer is going for $8.00 plus gratuity plus tax.

  21. Neil Charles on January 9, 2023 at 4:12 am

The profit they make out of these drink packages is just ridiculous..it used to be reasonable and now they don’t offer any wine packages and that’s all i drink..I leave for a cruise next month and they want $90.00 and $120.00 for deluxe, that’s per passenger per day..way more than i paid for my whole 4 night cruise..

  22. HD SD on January 9, 2023 at 4:15 am

If your not a alcoholic don’t get the drinks package 🫣 who drinks 10 drinks 12 nights in a row 🙄? Yes alcoholics

  23. Sunny Scott on January 9, 2023 at 4:18 am

I’ll just go to Vegas. When you’re gambling, the drinks are free.
    Easy peasy. 🍷🍸🍸🍹🍺🍻🥂🥃🥤🧋🍹🍸🍷

  24. Chris Caswell on January 9, 2023 at 4:19 am

Yes it depends on your level of drinker. I’m the super social drinker. Won’t drink at all alone but on that shit. We used every bit of it. Mimosas and rum runners at breakfast, juice, water, the bottle you get for the coco cola machines. It works really well if you visit a perfect day and have sea days. But we also caught a deal with the package and voom so it balanced to about 7 drinks a day. Easy. Especially if you do shots.

  25. Melvin Jacobs on January 9, 2023 at 4:20 am

I don’t buy a drink package on Royal because their prices are ridiculous.

  26. Mandy Vincent on January 9, 2023 at 4:21 am

The drinks package says there will be a charge for changes or cancellation so if you book early and the price changes, sure you can cancel and rebook but you will have an additional fee every time you do that !

  27. Leilani Bonagua on January 9, 2023 at 4:27 am

Hi Matt, is the refreshment package charged per person, or per room? i’m not an alcoholic drinker, but my roommate drinks casually. TIA

  28. Lee Reader on January 9, 2023 at 4:28 am

I really don’t like being around fat people. Are there cruise lines that I should avoid???

  29. I've Never Done This Before on January 9, 2023 at 4:28 am

Matt, I am currently about to buy the deluxe drink package, but when looking at the current "more information" PDF document the extremely small fine-print says "package includes any single beverage with a value up to 13$ for select ships and sail dates"……well ever cocktail or mixed drink on Anthem of the Seas is 14$, so will this mean the deluxe package will not cover any drink that is more than 13$?

  30. jei_elle on January 9, 2023 at 4:29 am

    Are gratuities included?

  31. Johana Whitler on January 9, 2023 at 4:30 am

Is this liberty of the seas because I went on it a month ago

  32. Susan Frierson on January 9, 2023 at 4:30 am

Aren’t cruise lines doing what everybody else is doing now? Using an algorithm to determine prices for each individual? So that no two people see the same specials?

With this in place, if you purchase the drink package early, you will never see a drink package special when you log in.

If you have not purchased the drink package, you will see the specials until you do.

  33. Derek M on January 9, 2023 at 4:31 am

The amount of coffee I drink in any given day would probably cover the cost of a drink package…

  34. Yabba Dabba Doo on January 9, 2023 at 4:31 am

Strangely these offers don’t exist for Aussie cruisers. The one time it was offered the ship was drunk dry after just 48 hours. Choppers were called in with fresh pallets to avoid a riot

  35. Kathy Sherman on January 9, 2023 at 4:32 am

What is that Rrocury (i know spelling off lol) website to check prices please

  36. CRUISE WITH KAZ & NIGE on January 9, 2023 at 4:34 am

We often find it’s on sale for £43 pp at time of booking. Great value. Also if the price drops after you book just cancel and book the cheaper price.

  37. MandalorianFanboy on January 9, 2023 at 4:35 am

Does Royal charge different prices for drinks on different ships? Or is a Manhattan going to be the same price on every ship?

  38. Robby Ticknor on January 9, 2023 at 4:36 am

I was just on Navigator of the Seas and all the cocktails were at least $16, and the ones in the nightclub were $20

  39. Scott Morgan on January 9, 2023 at 4:37 am

look at all the stupid masks, I thought those went out in the 80’s

  40. CaseyTheConqueror on January 9, 2023 at 4:38 am

You say always cheaper online.. not true, I’ve gotten some good deals onboard + given a bottle of wine to boot!

  41. StraightMenace on January 9, 2023 at 4:39 am

Unless you plan on drinking 7-8 drinks a day. Every day. Don’t buy it. It’s really that simple.

  42. AggiePride4life on January 9, 2023 at 4:41 am

Bottom line is that if you drink, get that alcohol package. Trust me when I say you will end up saving money! Those drinks are minimum $12 to $15 each. Even if you only drink 2-3 drinks per day for two people, you’ve pretty much covered the cost of the package. Like the guy said I’m the video, you drink different on vacation. Especially a cruise. You may cover the 3 drinks at lunch alone lol!

  43. Canna on January 9, 2023 at 4:43 am

I booked EARLY af and still as charged $89 and it never changed =

  44. J S on January 9, 2023 at 4:43 am

I think I will just go to an all inclusive resort

  45. Paul Stonehill on January 9, 2023 at 4:46 am

    Thanks Matt, great advice!

  46. Lord Kiltridge on January 9, 2023 at 4:46 am

I paid $66.99 and just exchanged it for $62.99.

  47. Young lady on January 9, 2023 at 4:46 am

Thanks for sharing this information about the drink package.

  48. Robert Saddler on January 9, 2023 at 4:47 am

I break even if that so not worth it. I booked it in the ship because my wife can’t drink so they just sold it to me instead of us both having to buy it.

  49. John Ohara on January 9, 2023 at 4:48 am

I have never seen so much emphasis put on alcohol consumption.. was the trip really that much more enjoyable or did it just seem like due to the alcohol fog?

  50. Lori Schultz on January 9, 2023 at 4:49 am

I’m more confused then ever lol im not so smart sometimes smh
