Single door
Freestanding tent with only the door needing to be anchored
Season :
3+ season tent. Because this tent is military grade it has been designed to be stronger than your average backpacking 3 season tent. Taking those points into account and combining this tent with the genius LiteFighter Cold Weather Kit (windbreaker) and you have a robust 4 season shelter system that is capable of handing fairly strong winds and snow loading.
For the worst of winter conditions, a true double wall 4 season shelter would be recommended but for 3 – 4 season hybrid, this tent is incredibly functional.
Review Pros :
One of the Best Bang for the Buck tent systems out on the market today
Military Awesome shelter system
Love the camo and the colors
Excellent quality
Easy to setup and breakdown
As for the tent being waterproof, I have had two versions of this tent; one that I purchased from eBay and one that I got directly from Litefighter. The eBay version stated it was new but I did have some issues with leaking from a single hole above the door; I seam sealed it and the problem was solved. The tent could have been used….you know how eBay can be.
The model that I got from the company hasn’t had any issues and remains exceptionally waterproof even in heavy down pours from thunderstorms.
I’ve had this tent in winds around 40mph with no issues.
Snow loading around 6” with no issues
Ventilation is very good with this tent.
Condensation can develop on any tent and this is no different but the body does pull away from the fly well enough and the ventilation is good enough that it hasn’t been an issue during my year around testing.
The Bug mesh has kept the bugs out
Weight is a good for a 3+ season tent – Yes it is almost 5lbs but you have to remember this is a military product. Nuff said. Complaining about the weight of a military product is like buying a Chrysler and then complaining about it breaking down…..these aspects go hand in hand.
It’s a very versatile system that can be setup in numerous ways.
Price – for a military tent the pricing isn’t bad at all. From the company it is fair and in the form of surplus, it is fairly inexpensive; surplus price ranges $100 – $200 on eBay.
With the cold weather kit, this tent can be made to be even more capable and the use can be extended into the 4th season. It really works well and is one of the smartest products that I have seen in a long time. My review on that is coming up next week.
Review Cons :
Summary :
After testing just about every single US military tent that is available, this is my choice for the best of the best. It features the most civilian of designs while being exceptionally strong and capable.
It’s highly waterproof, very stable in wind and with the cold weather kit, it makes for an excellent 3+ season tent.
For those who like tactical products and for military personnel, this is the tent that I recommend; it is a far better product than anything that predates it. It is currently being utilized by US military forces and can be easily recommended.

Chryslers are no worse than that Toyota you have. I have had Dodge Jeep and Chryslers for 40 yrs with hardly any problems. STICK TO REVIEWING CAMPING GEAR AS YOU ARE NO AUTOMOBILE EXPERT.
I was an Army Grunt from the late 80’s to 04 . I’m going to stick with my poncho, cut up wire coat hangers, bungee cords, and a little 550.
Between this and a hammock I would choose a hammock everytime
3:25 WHAT! F THAT!
I used mine this past annual training and I placed it on a cot and it is perfect 👍🏽
Bipet is a Russian military tent style it’s a hot tent. Pops up cost about a grand. Check it out.
Let’s say it’s a good idea to pack a spare Coleman tent One that has WeatherTech badging on it so you know it is weather ready. I’m currently watching your review on your tigress tent. This way at least when it does rain you’ll be prepared.
"I’d like to see it having a little bit less flop"

Yes, but is the material
bear-proof????😄
whats with the camo? cant figure out where it would work.. i gues camo effects are well designed for whatever purpose but hiring 4yr old child to pick the colours might just jinx the it all 😛 cheers from finland
Love You Man…..righton
Can i lick the condensation as hydration ?
Since when did the military start using this style of tent? Or are we talking about the air force?
Other then that it looks and sounds like a fine tent
Lose the sunglasses when you talk about this product. Most of us can tell if you are being truthful by the look in your eye!!!!!
good lord. Military grade product and quality being used in the same sentence?! For anyone who doesn’t know.. military equipment is just the cheapest equipment that works 90% of the time.
It’s not a fly-first tent so it’s not my thing!
I spent a whole military career with a 13 pound tent, I didn’t even realized the army had this, wish the Marine Corps did
This is a totally paid and sponsored video… what good is the Velcro when you’re inside the tent?
And his analogy about military surplus and weight was dumb af.
This tent is par for course and that’s being generous.
I was issued mine over a year ago. I’m using it this weekend on a 4 day trip to the Black Hills and Badlands. I’m looking forward to seeing how well it works out!
Ok, so what you’re saying is you like this tent, right?
Just a few tips for folks that own this tent and are looking to bring the pack weight down a bit.
If you don’t plan on using this tent with a cot, you can just off the attachment points for the cot and save yourself just over 2oz.
– Replace all zipper pulls with 1mm polyester cord from Zpacks
– Replace all load-bearing line (basically just the 4-corners for stake-out points) with 1.3mm dyneema reinforced line from Zpacks
– Replace all guy-out line with 2mm dyneema reinforced cord (and micro Linelocs) from Zpacks
I got dyneema stuff sacks (also from Zpacks) for the stakes, poles and the tent its self. All of this brought the weight down substantially.
I will post a final weight when I get a chance, as I’m still in the process of seeing where else I can cut weight.
Also, the new "Ghostbone" poles are substantially lighter weight, compared to the aluminum poles that were included with the first few revisions of this tent. Those can be purchased separately on the Litefighter site. The standard tent now includes the Ghostbone poles. The "X-Series" tent that includes the Tough Sack and Ground Sheet includes the military issue aluminum poles, so that’s why that kit SEEMS like it’s a better value, and it is if weight isn’t an issue for you.
Slapping "tactical" on a product, at this point, is about as lame as pc hardware companies slapping "gaming" on everything. How tf is a tent tactical??? 🤣🤣🤣 branding to catch morons.
Hot Damn 🌍💕👋
I’ll BUY it from you—humboldt will buy this all day sideways
I laugh every time someone says “military tactical” it sounds so cringy
Seems nothing special with that tent. I buy Lidl tent for $80 that is much much stronger and 3x in size.
But lighning just ripped it this summer.

Very similar to the REI Half Dome series.
Luke, I bought one these fantastic tents, I after watching you use it several times. The winter video sold me on it. One thing I did was follow your advice on buying the ground sheet for the hasty hooch directly from the company. I’m planning on buying the winter conversion option.
Dude, I honestly never buy any gear without first checking to see if you have a review on it. I bought mine, including the the extra ground sheet for under 200.00🤙
Overpriced
😍❗️
4 LB 12 OZ is 20 OZ too heavy.
I just picked up 5 of these for$40 each for myself, family and friends. Awesome value tent with super quick and easy setup.
I’m disappointed by one thing – when the tent is damp/wet, the zipper unfortunately gets stuck and sometimes it can’t be opened because it gets stuck from the outer edge. I wouldn’t expect that from a tactical tent when I need to leave it as quickly as possible in case of danger 🙂 I have 3 different versions and the problem is always the same…otherwise I’m satisfied
Decathlon offers better and cheaper
Thats a very easy fix for staking iut front n back
Nice…
Best place to find a decent deal for this new/used?
There is not a single man tent in this world that is worth 350 dollars if you pay that much money for a tent you simply have too much money!
Best tent for one person
Let us know when the new version comes out. Great review
Thanks for the great review, dude! Straight to the point with no BS. Much appreciated. Liked and Subscribed.
Trying to find a 3-4 season tent under 5 lbs that can fit in a USMC ILBE, I also need to fit the ILBE, a German Shepherd and a Whipador in the tent when in use. This might be a good candidate for us.
What the hell is a ‘tactical’ tent? It’s just a tent.
Poles? Pass
You keep complaining about the fly touching the body at the ends then praising it because the fly stays away from the body.
Which is it?
WTF is a military tent, we used a poncho liner as a "tent". But this does look pretty cool
If this tent was 10x8x6 then I would be down. I could fit my military cot inside with extra leg and headspace rather than set up on top of the cot. Plus I just don’t like not being able to stand up. Being hunched over and lying down too long sucks.
My military tent was a poncho, my only blanket was a poncho liner & rain suit ,none of it worked when raining & temperatures in the 40’s
Where’s the tent toilet and reusable toilet paper?
