This 4-room BTO in Clementi Swapped Out its Bedrooms for a Larger Living Room

In this episode of One’s Abode, we take a tour of a commodious 4-room BTO flat in Clementi that looks larger than it really is. A spatial reorganisation sees the living room shifted to the space where the two common bedrooms were, resulting in a more spacious communal zone area that is made for comfortable living as much as for dinner parties. Adopting a theme of ‘Simple Luxury’, the apartment is clad in simple forms and lines, with a neutral, timeless base that extends all the way from the living room to the bedroom. What’s also interesting is the built-in carpentry, with some concealing entrances and others lending plenty of display room for the homeowner’s LEGO collections. Join us as we take a tour of this home.

Lovely layout – the normally un-hackable partial walls were integrated nicely at the two "bookends" of the communal space so that the whole home does seem like one unified space. Although, yet again, it does seem like spaciousness in Singapore is attainable mostly for those who choose to give up having children. Such spaciousness gained through the shift of layouts can be readily achieved for any DINK couple, be it in a 3, 4 or 5 room. It seems to be a vastly pervasive trend among featured homes online, which may not reflect the reality of many who are seeking designs suitable for family building.
