It’s so sad this disease because many times these people are just fine physically except for their brains. Thank you for the video! Thanks for sharing how it takes a village!

It’s like daycare playtime for grownups. A bit of music would be good.

I hate that I can imagine companies like Meta creating towns like these for people with alzheimers in VR. Think about it. Elderlies plugged into their VR set 24/7, thinking nothing’s changed since the 50s–or whenever they grew up.

Imagine you have Alzheimer’s and they created a 2020s town for you and it is actually 2086?

Transition from 1st diagnosis to full time nursing home is emotionally draining for all involved. Anything to ease the pain of the inevitable is helpful.

Many times I used to grab my tape recorder and record my grandma telling me her childhood in the 40s and adolescent times in the 50s y 60s and now she’s in a better place but then and often I hear those tapes and I close my eyes and imagine myself sitting on a bench and next to me is my grandma telling her stories with me

My mom has Alzheimer’s she’ll be 88 years old in October and she is one of the most violent mean person it runs mother daughter relationship it affects everybody and she’s always calling me at night and calling me the filthiest names you can think of I do not feel safe to stay there and spend the night because I’m worried she will try to stab me and can’t really put her nursing home because she would be beating on everybody so she would have to be chemically sedated help me what can I do what do I do

This is beautiful. I am a CNA and now I work as a direct support staff for adults with developmental disability. When I was working as a CNA this would have been the best place in the world for some of my patients to be. It brings tears to my eyes. Thank you to those who are there making a difference for these people.❤️

  23. Matt G on June 26, 2022 at 11:23 pm

Oooh God, this was hard to watch. 🥺😢My maternal grandmother went through this. She and my grandpa were also married 52 years. When we finally had to put her in memory care (which was hard enough to do, but we couldn’t give her the care she needed anymore), whenever we visited, which was several times a week usually, she would ask if she could go back home and that “she promised to do better this time”. Instant bawling. She thought she had done something wrong, and no matter how hard you tried not to cry, that was too much for any of us to hear. Tears always followed at the end of visits anyway. It was so heartbreaking. She didn’t understand why she was there, because obviously she didn’t know what was happening to her. When she finally passed away, it was like losing her a second time. This is such an awful, awful disease. I miss her so much. The whole family does. My heart goes out to anyone who is dealing with, or has dealt with Dementia/Alzheimer’s. 💕😔

it would be nice if they also made a 1980s/1970s town for all those who miss those times because these times are garbage

She’s such a sweet lady, so adorable 🥰
I’m so glad they have this for old folks. I hope by the time I’m 90 years old they have a facility like this that’s stuck in the 1990’s.

  47. abo Adnan on June 26, 2022 at 11:50 pm

… the wing of submission through mercy, and say: My Lord! Have mercy on them both as they did care for me when I was little.
