On the heels of a very successful and much liked video regarding top kitchen trends 2020, I decided I had to share my top 10 bathroom trends for 2020. Many of you really enjoyed seeing all the new & different styles that are being created today. Bathrooms are a hot selling point in any house! In today’s episode we will discover the newest trend in shower enclosures which mimic black steel windows. Did you know that floating vanities are one of the hottest trends at the moment, especially if you float a shelf under the vanity? Let’s not forget floating your marble or egg shaped bathtub in the middle of the bathroom which looks sublime. We will also dive into the “glam bathroom” and the “no bathroom bathroom” trend which is definitely uber chic. I have to admit my favorite trend of the moment is the floating double vanity that sits in the middle of the room with a pendant mirror above. It is so different and unexpected that you cannot believe you didn’t think of it yourself. Lastly, let’s not omit my all time favorite bathroom trend, where I will share photos of my newest bathroom remodel which will highlight the use of floor to ceiling marble slabs on practically every wall in the bathroom! So sit back and relax and enjoy the show!

My absolute favorites are the all Marble Bathroom but Carera only not the dark vinyl ones. Too much for me. I adore the No Bathroom Bathroom the most though. I love that last look because I really love the look of elegant drapery and having a very large bathroom and being able to make it look that elegant and not too bathroomy is a dream!!! Also its a great way to escape and travel without leaving home.

I’m not a fan of using too much marble, especially marble with deep colored veining.
It looks like graffiti to me, it’s too busy!
Are clients asking for this or are designers encouraging this trend?
I understand Designers the nature of being Designer is to try new things, push the envelope.
I hope this doesn’t turn out to be an expensive mistake for the client.

I see art deco 1920’s influence, just refreshed. Arrasbescato and Violetta marble veining drama totally out of the first 20’s. Then you also had experimentation in new plumbing separate bath tub and shower, large open space, all fixtures deliberately spaced apart from one another. Those designs made the same statement as many of these, but it wasn’t forced or as intentional. Because indoor luxuries were so new, and it was just how it was done. Imagine, the 20’s in the 20’s… Everything old is new again.

Hmmm..Never heard of the no bathroom bathroom. My beautiful bathroom I designed and built is of marble, granite and has couch and chair and fan for after getting out of sauna/steam room along with claw foot tub. I’ve used round, oblong pieces/structures and natural wood – couldn’t afford floating so I got a long buffet natural wood cab that is a little bit industrial… Just looking through these design videos to see if I’ve missed anything in my design – still so happy with it. Looking for interesting kitchen designs – like all natural materials as well. 2 bathrooms are marble and the other is slate. Now for the kitchen…NOTE: I design my spaces for change – it will be easy if I want to change my bathtub or my sinks in the master bath; when you don’t buy this high end cabinetry and use/reuse antiques or other furniture that is easily converted for bath purposes – you have a more sustainable design. IMHO.

I love your videos so much. My husband and I are building a house so it’s super fun to watch your content. I was hoping you’d feature plaster shower walls, but maybe they’re not your style! If you have any info, I’d love to know more!

  7. Alice Hard on April 30, 2021 at 2:45 am

  10. Anita Prasad on April 30, 2021 at 2:46 am

  11. Gwen Wade on April 30, 2021 at 2:51 am

The floating double vanity reminds me off public ablution facilities in Sandton and Eastgate shopping malls in Johannesburg. Do not follow this trend.

  12. Rachel S on April 30, 2021 at 2:51 am

Great ideas! Loved the black details and busy marble.

  13. Juan Fermin on April 30, 2021 at 2:53 am

    All marble 100%

  14. fabienne paynter on April 30, 2021 at 2:56 am

I am a woman in a stone business and am very passionate about natural stone. So, I love how you are not scared to use the marble slabs in the bathroom designs! Looks great and yes the Arabescato marble is back! However the Calacatta Gold marbie s still a very timeless classy marble by far!

Again a trend inspired from Indian construction (marble)

  16. Karen Tappert on April 30, 2021 at 3:00 am

Nina, Most inspiring and definitely bringing new ideas to us! Your comment about more towel storage being on shelving and less hung on the wall was a good thought; especially for those smaller bathrooms. Thanks for expanding our horizons design-wise. (Oh and great dress!)

  17. diane carney on April 30, 2021 at 3:03 am

  22. maryalicepisa on April 30, 2021 at 3:09 am

Love dark definition in showers ..and for .windows! A"NO" bath w floating shelving is fresh and clean. All are so beautiful. For these times simplicity with strong impact are calming and regenerating. Beautiful change.
I look forward to your videos. Your "joy" comes across effortlessly!

  23. Brunilda Guerrero on April 30, 2021 at 3:10 am

    OMG 😮 BEAUTIFUL

  24. Josefita Fehn on April 30, 2021 at 3:12 am

I have a question. I have a 100 year old Mediterranean style house. We have some terracotta floors in the kitchen and Spanish influence all over the house. For example arches, detailed moldings, etc. I am about to redo our master and would like an updated version for this style because a totally modern would feel out of place. Any ideas? Thank you!

  25. Baby Cakes on April 30, 2021 at 3:13 am

Please do one on bathroom accessories like soap dishes etc. I never see real soap on a soap dish in display photos or videos

  26. Diana Riley on April 30, 2021 at 3:14 am

Absolutely gorgeous!🤩 The clean wood and marble , are my favorite.
    I also love your dress!💛

Wow I live this trend… and all your content. I feel like these trees are a reaction to the ultra modern sometimes "stark" modern houses. You can’t go wrong with natural materials!

All marble, not for me, but I can see how others would love the look. I love the black legal shower trim.
