Camden rate 1-10 as the most corrupt town in the USA, let alone alabama. It’s a half horses a– town. Creepy gov there and people are not so friendly. BEWARE of Camdumb.

  9. Thomas Poindexter on June 1, 2022 at 10:19 pm

Check your facts! Uriah is 27 min, 23 mi from the Flora/Bama line. US Hwy 21 South. 204 mi by road to Columbus, GA. 1:40, 128 mi to Waynesboro MS. You stated it is “A little over 40 mi from the AL GA border.”

Alabama does have history with the Civil war. The city of Montgomery, now the state capital, is often referred to as the Cradle of the Confederacy because it briefly served as the first capital of the Confederate States of America in 1861.Alabama was central to the Civil War, with the secession convention at Montgomery, birthplace of the Confederacy, inviting other states to form a Southern Republic, during January–March 1861, and develop constitutions to legally run their own affairs

  11. jack linnell on June 1, 2022 at 10:24 pm

Who cares? Alabama is full of liars and thieves. Judges there are corrupt and all you have in alabama are dumb lawyers who chase ambulances. I rate alabama a 15 on a scale on one to 5.

  12. Hunter Suggs on June 1, 2022 at 10:24 pm

We had the first capital of the confederacy. We have Hank Williams Sr. And Jr.

  13. SketchyKing55 on June 1, 2022 at 10:24 pm

Uriah is a good town. I had a hunting camp there. Everyone was super nice. No one would walk by and not say hi back.

You forgot Ragland. Other than a corrupt police force & a sad school system, it has nothing to offer.

  16. Mason Taylor on June 1, 2022 at 10:25 pm

    You forgot Prichard

  18. Quint Simmons on June 1, 2022 at 10:29 pm

It’s a lot of history here in Bama. It’s just black history that people doesn’t want to talk about

  19. Kathryn Irby on June 1, 2022 at 10:31 pm

This list left out Andalusia, AL. I have had one source with whom I have talked by phone, and sixty years later, nothing at all has changed. Everybody knows everybody’s business; have spent thirteen years in that town, racial ignorance still persists, just as it did in the 60’s. I now live in MS, and while there are larger towns, racial ignorance still persists here as well. The only town in AL that I feel nostalgic about is Mobile, and that’s because it is my birth town; otherwise, I never miss it.

Samson Alabama shoulda made this list

  32. Beth Rogers on June 1, 2022 at 10:44 pm

I live within a few minutes of Petrey, and it’s a very nice place- it’s also about 15 minutes from Troy, so you don’t have to drive an hour to Montgomery for supplies. there are also other towns nearby with grocery stores hardware stores, general stores, etc – I think you just like to hear yourself talk. not sure how it’s got a 58% crime rate.

  33. Marie Miller on June 1, 2022 at 10:47 pm

so poor folks should not be allowed to live by a beach …. is that the idea if your family owed property near a beach generations they should just move out so rich people can live by a beach …
this guy must be a democrat

What’s the name of the music that was playing at the beginning? Sounds lovely.

  35. Alabama Al on June 1, 2022 at 10:48 pm

The problems with Perdido Beach, Alabama:
    1) Despite it’s name, it’s not what you might ordinarily think of as a "beach town." Perdido Beach is deep within Perdido Bay and isolated from the actual gulf beaches by both boat and car. (By car, it’s a 20 miles drive to the nearest gulf beach.) Having a house overlooking Perdido Bay might be nice, but otherwise not much reason to have a home there.
    2) Perdido Beach is also isolated from most services. The nearest grocery store that’s any better than a convenience store is a 15 miles drive to Foley.
    3) Sorry Briggs, but the Perdido Beach Resort, where you attended that wedding, is located just east of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Perdido Beach Resort is about 5.5 miles straight-line distance, 28 miles driving distance, and a world away from the town of Perdido Beach. If you in fact did visit the town of Perdido Beach you really went out of your way to do so.

  36. Karen Davis-Hudson on June 1, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Dude you obviously didn’t visit all of Akron. There’s a subdivision on the river that you could never afford to buy into. There are a number of beautiful homes there, dairy farms, beautiful churches, and even one of the state’s premier wedding venues. But that’s ok. Like most of this state, we don’t mind folks deciding it’s not for them. When cities start to fall due to the emerging chaos, we’ll be just fine.

  37. Lacey H on June 1, 2022 at 10:48 pm

This person sounds like they know nothing about actual Alabama. Just picked the farm towns to talk poo about.

  38. Kaitlyn Sturgis on June 1, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Is it just me as an Alabamian or did this piss anyone else off

There is Florala, AL, which is 15 miles South of Andalusia.

  42. Daniel McAbee on June 1, 2022 at 10:57 pm

  46. Micah McGowan on June 1, 2022 at 11:01 pm

Wow how fucking stupid are you!?! I mean really, you actually just said that you learned this from one book, on a train to Utah! I mean really! Why don’t you actually come to Alabama, instead of reading about it while you are on your way to go marry more than one little girl. Oh, I know why, cause you can’t be with multiple children in Alabama. Enjoy Utah, douchebag

  47. BellaBlack Blackish on June 1, 2022 at 11:03 pm
