Thanks for the tip on Gunter Hill. We’re passing through this summer and it will be a perfect spot to stop for the night especially since I have an access pass.

Great information and locations. Can you run your generator at COE campgrounds?

  3. Anne LaCoss on May 21, 2023 at 1:45 pm

I’m afraid to share this, because it’s so amazing, but we are at Big Hart Campground in Thomson,GA. It is stunning! It is owned by the COE but run by the county. It has the COE feel! W/E, nice bath houses, a dump station and amazing hosts! $30 a night. Every site has a view of beautiful Clark Hill Lake and the fishing must be great by the looks of the fishing boats each day! We have spent 12 days here and will definitely be back!

I have a question that I am sure you can answer. We aren’t former military but have sons who are current and a daughter-in-law who is former. If they have a RV and we travel with them are they able to book for us also or do they have to be in the same RV with you? Thanks for your service and we love your videos.

I want to go to them all. I want to sell both houses, we have a rental too. I want to buy an rv and live wherever. We have pensions to live on. I can’t talk my hubby into this. He wants a home base. I offered to keep a house even. I can’t talk him into it. I’ve been at him for 2 years. Last week I had him talked into renting one and going from Michigan to Florida until I told him the prices. The biggest deal breaker was the 100 mile free limit. We want to go to Florida and back in about 10 days so the mileage would really rack up. I was bummed. I don’t think he really wanted to. Since I’ve watched you guys I keep saying to him, it’s someday. I’m sure I drive him nuts. I’m 64 and hubby is 72. I guess I’ll have to be happy with..good thing he’s so cheap otherwise i wouldn’t even be able to dream about it, lol

A big thank you to Ben and Chris of @TheMcMillanExpress for their video on inexpensive campsites near Disney World. We have stayed at Bill Frederick Park in Orlando several times. It is a big city park with a good sized RV park with water and electric sites (a few sites also have sewer, and there is a dump station at the exit). A lot of hiking and biking trails, a shopping center nearby with a Publix, and about 20 minutes to Disney. Last time we were there it was about 30 a night.

I’m afraid I’ve found some military campgrounds more expensive than local ones. NAS Whidbey Island, Cliffside RV Famcamp was more expensive than Fidalgo Bay RV Resort just outside Anacortes, WA. Admittedly some of the sites at Fidalgo Bay aren’t as nice as Cliffsides, but you are closer to town, a bike ride and you don’t have the inconvenience of going through the base’s front gate.

We loved Watkins Glen NY state park even more than Letchworth. Great video thanks for sharing. In Ontario Canada (home) our favourite provincial parks are Killbear ProvincialPark & Bon Echó Provincial Park.

❓❓❓Hi guys! So I’m new and we’re going on a 5 month trip . Do you make rv reservation that far ahead? Like should I be so tedious and plan every single night at a place to stay? How do you do it lol … scared newbie

  11. Dahr-wynn Blakemore on May 21, 2023 at 1:52 pm

I didn’t know Lee Vining had an actual campground! It’s quite mountainous so a toad would be useful!

  12. Steve C on May 21, 2023 at 1:53 pm

It would be most helpful if you could have written the names of the places so we could see the spelling. Thanks from the hearing challenged. 🙂

We have stayed at 4th cliffs, but will not return. Great views, but VERY tight, and could not get level.

USAF Academy FAMCAMP was wonderful. We’ll be back there.

I’ve traveled the world and there’s e’s nothing that beats the Eastern Sierras!

You’re talking about Mono Lake. Largely destroyed by the DWP. home to brine shrimp and migratory birds.

Omg the Mobil gas station is the best!

  25. CARGO ON - Cargo Conversion Build & Camp on May 21, 2023 at 2:10 pm

Have you ever checked out “6 mile creek”? Also Army corp park. The best known secrets in AL. I wonder if still exists? Only 7.00 in the 1990’s. Right on AL River. Love your videos! 👍 keep them coming!

  28. SmokeyBear2001 on May 21, 2023 at 2:14 pm

Thanks for this list…now we have more to add to our list! Rafter J Bar Ranch in Hill City SD is great! Close to Mt. Rushmore and all the other sites! Safe travels

  29. vickeywiggins on May 21, 2023 at 2:16 pm

our mistake. Breakaway box? First camping trip with new Wolf-pup. Brakes locked up 0n camper. Fearing letting camp sit on side of road. We dragged new camper all way home.
Costly $500 mistake. New hubs, brakes, all new wiring.
Luckily it didn’t catch a fire.
    Mr & Mrs Lucky Campers

Y’all need to check out Pointes West near Augusta, Ga. Military resort right on Strong Thurman lake. Every site backs up to the lake

  31. Chris Neuhaus on May 21, 2023 at 2:22 pm

We start our adventure of journeys in four weeks. We take possession of a 2023 Oliver Elite II, and then a slow build up to extended travels to discover a lot of what you guys have been sharing for years. Thanks for inspiring us!

  32. Tim Woody on May 21, 2023 at 2:23 pm

Richardson Grove State Park on highway 101 in California. It’s part of the Avenue of the Giants. Right by the Eel River and the scenic drives are epic. It’s just a ten minute drive to Garberville, one of the centers of the counter culture of the sixties and seventies in Northern California, and yes, that includes all the pot farms back in the woods. Eureka is a little over an hour away and there are plenty of quaint little towns along the way. One of our favorites is Ferndale, an artsy city with several excellent examples of Victorian architecture.

  33. Pulu Hui on May 21, 2023 at 2:24 pm

Being fellow Veteran Couple too, what are your Top 10 Military Camp Grounds (Stateside)?

  34. John Shields on May 21, 2023 at 2:24 pm

Lower Lee Vining is truly beautiful, but have you checked out Convict Lake, or Silver Lake?

  35. agpvab on May 21, 2023 at 2:25 pm

Pelican Roost RV Park at Mayport NAS, FL is our favorite!

  36. Geoffrey Walker on May 21, 2023 at 2:26 pm

Pleeeeeease take Grayton Beach off your list! Hahahahahahaha

  37. Kenneth Leonard on May 21, 2023 at 2:27 pm

Most of the FL State parks are our go to spots. Gamble Rogers & Henderson Beach are probably our favorites outside of the Keys.

  38. John Shields on May 21, 2023 at 2:29 pm

    That would be Mono Lake.

  39. FBiden on May 21, 2023 at 2:30 pm

We’re at Gunter hill now! One of our favs to go to when hubs has to work on site at Gunter AFB. Also I think it’s important to note the sites are concrete and fhu only on the Catoma side. Antioch side is gravel and w/e only and are not very level!

  43. SG Tiner on May 21, 2023 at 2:33 pm

What an amazing list of campgrounds. Thanks for the tips. We bought an RV to be outdoors and the places you list are our ideal.

Full hook ups including cable (4 dollars a day) there is 2 lakes for bass and trout paddle boats a water park and 3 pools a restaurant and bar laundry horseshoes corn hole courts basket and pickle ball courts each weekend is a different theme.(20s, carnival, wild west, comic book,) but you don’t have to participate. Ortona South is great as well. It’s the closet COE park to our house.

It was nice seeing you in Tampa.
