not free, but inexpensive, and paradise like >>> Trimble Park, Orange County, FL, near Mt Dora, FL. 15 sites, over half back up to the lake, call for reservations, first come = best site.

If you ever near Tampa Bay Florida, there is a perfect boondocking spot when you cross the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. It is before entrance to the South Fishing Pier (aka the longest fishing pier in the world).

Coming from Tampa, take 275 South towards Sarasota ,cross over the beautiful Sunshine Skyway Bridge then at the end of the brige take a right like your going toward the pier. There is a lot of space there with shady palm trees facing the Tampa Bay. Most people go there for fishing if they prefer not to go to the pier but we have boondock there several times and it is so beautiful and free!

  17. Kris Ballard on September 1, 2022 at 5:43 am

That looks like some good boondocking!

If you’re ever traveling I-70 across Missouri, there is a nice secluded boat launch with about half a dozen free camp sites on the bank of the Lamine River called Harriman Hill Access you might enjoy, especially if you enjoy catfishing from a kayak or from the bank. There is a bit of a drop off though, so the good bank fishing spots are limit to closer to the boat ramp. No amenities, but the woods surrounding the area are beautiful, especially in the early fall.

Thanks for sharing, and for showing the great photos! The only one I had on my itinerary already was Magnolia Beach, TX. I definitely plan to spend considerable time there in the cooler months, and even give it a try in the summer.

If it isn’t too much trouble, when you so generously give us the GPS coordinates, could you put the state alongside the site name? By the time I got to adding these to my itinerary spreadsheet, I forgot what state they were in! But whether you do that or not, your videos are great and the information is much appreciated!

I have a goal of traveling along every inch of coastline in the U.S. (as close to the high-tide line as I can get), so I’ll be also camping as close to the water as possible. When I start that journey, I’ll share what I find.

Check out Padre Island National Seashore (PINS) in Texas. Also anywhere on the beach near Port Aransas TX or Packery Channel. Seguin and New Braunfels Tx has a few waterfront campgrounds on the Guadalupe river.

  49. Zachary Henry on September 1, 2022 at 6:23 am

We’re going in April to a waterfront camping spot right near st Augustine Florida. It’s $10 a night but that’s not bad for how beautiful it’s going to be. We’ll let you know how it turns out!
