I think leclair decor and studio mcgee are some of the transitional decor brands rightπŸ˜…

  3. jerseygirlmillie on September 21, 2022 at 5:20 am

Well, perhaps I am more eclectic.πŸ€” The modern bent is not quite me. Your well researched tips and photos were helpful. Maybe an eclectic deep dive video next? πŸ˜‚

  4. Ashley Lee on September 21, 2022 at 5:20 am

I have never been able to describe my style until I saw this. It also gave me some design ideas. Also thank you for wearing a microphone, I am hard of hearing and it made it so much easier to hear you enunciate words without having to read your lips or the captions.

  5. Asha Kuldip on September 21, 2022 at 5:21 am

Thanks a lot for a great video.

  6. Conny Hanson on September 21, 2022 at 5:23 am

This is the most bland and boring and generic style. If you are going to mix traditional and modern you always should pick pieces that are definitely traditional and definitely modern. Not this in between bland boring pieces. It looks great to have typical Art Deco chairs with a traditional sofa with typical 1700 style antique tables.

  7. Pat Campisano on September 21, 2022 at 5:29 am

Thank you thank you thank you very much! You helped me identify my style, giving me confidence in it. I wasn’t sure before I found you. What a relief!

    coastal /eclectic ,coastal/transitional ("Florida style " )

  9. Lauren on September 21, 2022 at 5:32 am

Omg this video helped me sooo much! Thank you!!! My husband and I have a few pieces of traditional furniture that were handed down to us from our grandparents and I feel like I’ve been in a design rut not knowing how to decorate around them. Transitional sounds like the perfect happy medium and with the knowledge and advice you gave in this video, I feel way more comfortable decorating the space and making it more me! πŸ˜€πŸ™Œ

Thank you this was great! This is definitely my style

  11. Real Girl on September 21, 2022 at 5:35 am

Very informative without making me feel shamed into a strict design style. You just educate your viewers and that’s why I like your videos. I think I would like to see more eclectic videos and you could show how different peoples homes can be in that style. 😁

  12. Milla Cull on September 21, 2022 at 5:35 am

Thank you for an explanation. I always like the style ( hotel/ spa resort) as I would explain it , You defined my style

  13. Hazel James on September 21, 2022 at 5:36 am

Had no idea I was transitional. I love this video. Have watched it 3 times and will watch again and again.

  14. marilyn rafla on September 21, 2022 at 5:38 am

Mostly me, I just put the print on the curtains instead of the rug. I also like a touch of coastal vibe in the color palette not by displaying sea shells. Now it makes sense that I love the studio McGee collection in target and control myself not to bring everything home, since I like minimal display.
Would love to see your take on costal and how to blend it with different styles. And maybe how to blend kids stuff in grown-up’s space for each design style (I don’t find enough inspiration for that except in Ikea catalog which is not my style)

  15. Svet-Lana on September 21, 2022 at 5:38 am

Great informative video, I’m definitely a translational style. Love clean, uncluttered lines but welcoming and cozy at the same

  16. laitae on September 21, 2022 at 5:40 am

Another excellent video, you’re always so thorough and good at presenting (thanks to your teaching experience I think). I wonder where the image from 6:34 comes from? I know that it adds more work, but perhaps in the future you could start adding sources?

I absolutely loved this video. For so long I have had such a hard time working out what my design style was, but suspected it was transitional. I’ve seen many videos about the style, but never came out of watching them being confident that it was how I likes to style my home. You provided not just a detailed description, but the photos along with it have confirmed my style is indeed transitional. Subscribed!

With all these blank walls my heart was aching for pattern and geometrics! Can you do Mid Century Modern next, please?

  29. Barbara Mallow on September 21, 2022 at 5:57 am

I love transitional style and this is the best video I’ve seen explaining the concept. It blends theory with practical application, which is key to being able to implement it yourself. Love that you name specific stores, designers and other sources for inspiration. One suggestion… put links to these things in your comments section to make it easier for viewers to explore. Also links to your own videos on this same design style. Thanks so much! Nicely done and very helpful!

  33. Terri on September 21, 2022 at 6:05 am

Great video! It made me realize I lean toward this style. Never knew that before. It doesn’t seem to have any whimsy to it though and I like to add that in art etc.

  34. Janelle Kendall on September 21, 2022 at 6:06 am

I finally feel complete!! I have a name for my style…. transitional!! πŸ™
All of these beautiful examples, I have in my own home. But I have struggled with describing my style to people. This video I chanced upon… light bulb moment! Thank you x

    Rustic+contemporary vibe plz

  42. Jal Ferrer on September 21, 2022 at 6:10 am

My large bay windows in both the living and dining rooms will have light beige/grayish motorized blinds. But I wanted neutral/white, sheer/light-feel type of drapes that don’t close but just β€œcrown” the bay windows. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. I’m getting opposition to my ideas but I think it would lighten the space that already has wood floors, a dark walnut dining table and sideboard.

  43. D.A. Williams on September 21, 2022 at 6:11 am

Thank you so much for the depth of clear and complete information. Its such a professional presentation.
