Most Motohomes are from the stone age. Almost everything is so precarious compared to what I see with the same year in the US and Latin America. I’m not saying this clip is bad, I mean that the product shown is bad and in poor aesthetic taste, not to mention that they are technologically backward products.

  2. Alistair Graham on June 12, 2022 at 11:02 pm

Looking after your van, service, documentation etc helps to keep the value, however; this is not the reason for the higher prices Right Now.
Without covid19 the 2006 – 2009 vans would be up to 3k less, regardless of how well they have been looked after. Am I correct in this assumption? Do enjoy your videos. Thank you,

  5. Grem Productions on June 12, 2022 at 11:10 pm

Great vid. …… Though I’m on the wrong end of the stick it seems. I’ve been saving for a half decent camper for years as I’ve alway wanted one. Now I have a few quid, I’m finding it a nightmare to buy. I’m seeing vans falling to pieces with a piece of wood in the back called a "camper van" starting at £10,000. The quest continues.

  6. jolyon lacey on June 12, 2022 at 11:10 pm

very informative video. However when you take inflation into account , the depreciation is actually bigger than the absolute number. eg if the van is 15 years old and cost say £30k new, then £30k 15 years ago was worth a lot more then. you need to apply inflation depreciation of the capital if you say average inflation is 2%over 15 years then the deprecation of the capital is 37% so the actual ‘new price’ ie what 35k is worth today. is 35×1.37=48k so the ‘real’ deprecation is say 48-22 =£26k if its worth £22k now

I am interested to know that I drive by 1000’s of lots full of campervans and motorhomes sitting for many months yet the prices seem to stay high, do the manufacturers subsidise the cost of stock?

  9. Phil Chandler: Barefoot Beekeeper on June 12, 2022 at 11:18 pm

    Hmm… a "romarome" or a "motarome"?

  10. TheMilford99 on June 12, 2022 at 11:21 pm

I won`t sell my old one, or buy new, from any dealers, as the last year, to 18 months dealers are really ripping off the public, since lockdown. Going to a motorhome/camper show, in September, when i put a little sticker in my window, and get inundated, with offers, everytime.

  11. Andy on June 12, 2022 at 11:21 pm

    Great video. 👌

  12. Gimbalair on June 12, 2022 at 11:24 pm

Cannot wait for wait for 2023 when there is a glut on the market and dealers will be paying you to take them away.

  13. Fantasy Product on June 12, 2022 at 11:24 pm

    Subbed. Are you from Stoke?

  14. Norman Munns on June 12, 2022 at 11:25 pm

Don’t forget that these second hand retail prices he is quoting are what a dealer would sell them for.

They would offer you at least £6000 less than what is being quoted.

If you tried to sell it yourself you would get about £4000 less then what he has quoted

  15. Dave on June 12, 2022 at 11:27 pm

i can wish the United States had such compact but useful RV’s available.

  16. Colin Thompson on June 12, 2022 at 11:29 pm

On a new van aren’t you giving 20% to the taxman in VAT ? So a van retailing new at £48,000- is really a £40,000- van ? I don’t like the idea of spending, say, £45,000- for a year old van that was only really worth £40,000- brand new.

If I could stand having my brother with me for a few days then the autotrail would do it for us both and my dog and cat. Even when we were younger and the both of us had motor bikes my brother was up dressed and away by 7am but I preferred a brew first, anyhoo as you Jason know the average bridge height is 11ft 6 and I’m paranoid about having to take bloody awful detours and maybe it’s all in my mind but I’d imagine as beautiful as the family motorhomes are I’d be doing a lot of detours but like be said I’ll even post a fiver of my brother’s money to you if say nice things about Kevin for a whole video report

  18. Erdishzane on June 12, 2022 at 11:31 pm

If the government pass the camper bill, they will be worth nothing

Ahh this is just sad. Dashed my dreams of owning one. I can’t be paying prices like these. I thought there would be much cheaper options.

  21. loki1066 on June 12, 2022 at 11:34 pm

They’ll only fetch what people are prepared to pay.
When they realise they’re going to come down in price when the travel industry gets going again, people won’t buy any vans until they come down in price. This video seems like it was just made to justify the higher prices you’re charging at the moment.

  22. The 11 meters D.X. Channel. on June 12, 2022 at 11:35 pm

If Westmonster get their way. With their new assault on travelling people new age or Irish. and generally hell bent on removing freedom of movement and liberty.
For the general population.. The peasants in their priviledged world ??? The camper van market will collapse .. You will not be able to give these vehicles away !!
Welcome to the new norm !!! As they say .. You will own fuck all and be happy ??? They the NWO. will own everything and be even more happy !!! How do you like them apples,
    Joe public ????

  23. Stephen Foxall on June 12, 2022 at 11:35 pm

You haven’t mentioned engine capacity and fuel type.

  24. Kevin Loughin on June 12, 2022 at 11:35 pm

Here in the U.S., the prices are beyond ridiculous. Even the used sprinter vans, not yet converted to a camper van, sell for more than double what I paid for my house back in the 1990s. Campervans, used, three times what I paid for my house. New, more than four times what I paid for the house.

    Cracking video …

  26. johnnyhock on June 12, 2022 at 11:37 pm

So presumably, when the pandemic ends and people start travelling abroad again for their hols, flights & hotels, there will be a glut of used unwanted motorhomes flooding the market, so the prices will fall sharply, just as they have risen sharply because of the pandemic

  27. DJ RichyLaurence on June 12, 2022 at 11:37 pm

I just got a Trafic lwb fitted out with the proper basics for 14k with 93k on it and FSH. I saw another with 230k on it at 18k! Mental. I use mine as a daily driver aswell.

  28. Kieran Marsh on June 12, 2022 at 11:38 pm

Many cities will be fetching in clean air areas in the next few years will pre-2016 diesel van/motorhomes keep their value

  29. Yanhua Qi on June 12, 2022 at 11:39 pm

Can we buy this van in USA?

  30. Maria Antoniou on June 12, 2022 at 11:39 pm

It’s good to inform us about euro too… 👍🤗

  31. RamsFan on June 12, 2022 at 11:39 pm

This is a sellers/owners post. Interesting if you want to buy. My 2011 Land Rover Discovery and 2018 Adria Alpina Missouri top of the range caravan came to £45,000.

  32. julesbaby47 on June 12, 2022 at 11:39 pm

Hi, like you’re chanel. Be good to know exactly this info, but for now (June 22). Did the craze die down?

  33. Harlock2day on June 12, 2022 at 11:40 pm

I would probably get a Caravan so I do not have to get an old engine to deal with. Less to worry about but i see the appeal of campers too. As for holding value that depends on buyers. I wouldn’t accept only a 15% discount on a 15 years old van. They must be joking. 30% at a minimum. I see plenty of choice out there.

  34. Sean Fallon on June 12, 2022 at 11:40 pm

one would probably be better off buying new maybe
Great informative video 👌 Thank you

I knew this but you have confirmed it for me thanks , just like the housing boom and negative equity from a few years ago , no thanks 🙏🏼

  36. bryn mitchell on June 12, 2022 at 11:42 pm

Hi , liked n subbed , Question ..why do you think AUTO gear box is so good ?

  37. Hybrid on June 12, 2022 at 11:44 pm

I looked extensively over 2 years ago to getting something like an Autosleeper Symbol , i was struggling then to find the money
for a good used example maybe around 2003 ish , i wanted the 2002 onwards 2.0 litre HDI engine much nicer than the old 1.9.
Now it is a totally unrealistic dream , because of demand everything is overpriced for what it is , i’ve given up on the dream …..

  38. Annie May on June 12, 2022 at 11:45 pm

    Is that an automatic

  39. Molly T on June 12, 2022 at 11:46 pm

Really useful video thanks! I was unsure if £25k was too much for a 2009 nu venture surf, seems it’s about right? Reassuring that they hold their value too. I won’t wait & see if prices fall in a year or 2 … think of all the weekends away I’ll be missing! Live for the day ❤️

Truthfully Jason that had I the means to do so I’d get the Peugeot Hilo because of the reverse folding roof as my daily driver and an autotrail 600 D for weeks away, none the less another great video

  46. James M H Gordon on June 12, 2022 at 11:55 pm

Hi interesting video I presume that the prices your quoting are what you are selling these vans for and not the price you purchased them for. Is it not true as with cars that private sellers don’t get as much for a van as traders do at point of sale.

  47. Carl Mc New on June 13, 2022 at 12:00 am

Thank you , very informative , just what I’m planning to do , FLA

  48. Rebecca Parker on June 13, 2022 at 12:01 am

Why do they all look like they’ve used your grandmas curtains to upholster everything and the same nasty yellow wood laminate

  49. Chris Peirson on June 13, 2022 at 12:01 am

Shit! I valued my 2016 Mercedes sports home at around £45k. Looking at the price of these dogs, I’d say at least £55k now 😳

  50. John Thompson on June 13, 2022 at 12:01 am

How will the whole debate diesel is evil and petrol is bad for carbon footprint affect the market price in next 3 years, e motorhome is that a realistic future, and government taxing the hell out of them year on year
