Van Life-Finding Overnight Parking ๐ค๐ค Beverly Brown
Welcome to my channel Becoming Bev. I am a 58 year old solo female traveling full time in my 2004 Chevy Express 1500 van that has been converted to an RV. My van conversion is my home.
In todayโs van life vlog I will talk about where to park overnight. While full time RV living, it is both exciting and a bit stressful when I donโt know where Iโm going to park my tiny house on wheels overnight. In this video I will share with you all of the places Iโve parked and some tips on stealth camping. Solo female RV living can be an adventure.
Here are some locations where I have parked my van overnight and some that others have told me about but I havenโt tried yet. If you have other suggestions on where to park, Iโd love to hear from you.
1. My friends driveways
2. Cracker Barrel
3. Roadside Parks
4. BLM Land
5. Paid Parking Lots
6. Campgrounds
7. Overflow Parking at Campgrounds
8. Hotel Parking Lots
9. Parking Areas
10. State Parks
11. National Parks
12. Warehouse Areas
13. Walmart
14. Cabellaโs
15. Hospitals
16. 24 Hour Gyms
17. Park and Ride Locations
18. Casinos
19. Bars and Clubs
20. Home Depot or Lowes

I just found you…I like very much…hitting the road soon myself….
Stay safe Doll..
i enjoy your videos plus your a major cutie
You’ve stayed at some pretty interesting places! Wow loved the teepees and the rainbow was so beautiful ๐ You inspire me so much, I can’t wait to move into my car ๐๐โค
Not sure about ALL National Forests but Wayne National in Ohio and others allows free โdispersed โ camping wherever you can find a spot to pull off . As long as youโre not blocking a trail head , gate or right of way .
How is your rv camp site project going? The one you did video on w partners?
I canโt believe that I JUST found your channel! Well done. Looks like Iโve got some catching up to do!
Ya my kids that female and I stay the night on the side of the road on the way to Arizona from California out in the desert it was so cold I had to pile three sleeping bags on top of the kids to keep them warm. Luckily what is red with a red shell . So the traffic could see us . All over a little four $5 part . Called points, had burned about 10-11pm . Did I mention I was towing a trailer oh yeah. I would say 30 40 mi from Blythe. Luckily the female was following along in our 77 white pinto station wagon with low profiles and kreggers all the way around tan interior a nice little pinto station wagon . I drove it 100 mi an hour after I put a cam and cam followers in it and all that stuff . But yeah the female and the little pinto station wagon drug my truck and a trailer out of the desert to Blythe with a little 10 ft of chain . To an auto parts store . Where I ultimately had to just polished my burnt points and get along to Phoenix . I always learn to keep my old points and polish them up and have a spare in the truck now . See now had that been an electronic ignition it wouldn’t have been so easy to fix . but electronic probably wouldn’t have burned either . I’ve had a whole assortment of problems with points but I still didn’t figure out why they weren’t like that
I overnight parked at the casino in Cherokee, NC. I found it with Overlander, I think. I love your voice! It is so soothing! Glad to see the bunny ears in action again, and glad to see they both work now!
Pet setting Bev.
Like our house in Florida. Cocoa and Izzy
Love your "give back" philosophy! Bravo on the BB stays, I’m a long time BBNP camper. Very thorough vid.
Another great video. Super informative. Thank you.
beautiful, the van as well
I wish everyone would conduct themselves as respectfully and discreetly!
Those ears are hilarious!!! xoxo
in a pinch i have had good luck pleading "too tired to keep driving safely" at rural fire stations.
this would probably work better for you than me, you’re cute, i look like the GEICO caveman!
it think using the too tired line makes them feel responsible for your safety.
Cindy says"We camped in 2009, in our Mercury Villiger van, on our trip to Ontario, Canada. One of the places that we stayed was a Wal-Mart in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. The only drawback was that they closed at 10pm, and didn’t open again until about 8am. Our bathroom facilities weren’t the best at that time, so it wasn’t the most convenient, but it worked out ok. That same trip we also attended a music & craft festival and a concert. Lots of Great memories, & trips in that van! I SURE do miss it!"
Just got back from a 26 day road trip from Maine to Florida and back, mostly freeways and small roads. Finding places to sleep wasn’t all that difficult. However, finding places where I felt comfortable breaking out the camp stove to cook a meal was very difficult. Have you experienced that. Especially here on the east coast?
CABELA’S! They ENCOURAGE it! Most have a dump station you can use if you spend $$$ at the store (I think $15?-not sure).
Bev when d you think you’ll get back on the road again? Plans to ro return to Florida soon?
Hi Bev, life is one great adventure for you, not knowing where your parking up for the night if there’s a rest room or shower, that seems a bit of scary fun to me lol, stay safe ๐๐น
I am trying to find a box truck so that I can park at apartments since people are always moving.
Ty Bev. I’m in a dream world here . I have camper trailer we pull. So little harder to park anywhere. I still look for possible parking for van lol
I love to see you laugh Bev. I think it’s great. A merry heart is like a medicine. Keep having fun and laughing!
This was very helpful! Thank you! I donโt have a van, but I car camp in my Ford Focusโฆ but she thinks she is a Jeep, so, shhhhhhhh. Donโt tell her. ๐

Truck stops are good also with the van expediters parking there
Hello Bev, in Europe often itโs easy to park at the parking lot of the cemeteryโฆ you normally have a toilet and water over there โฆ you can get there from 5 pm until 9 am without disturb anyone. Often these cemetery near a city and also at beautiful locations. Lovely greetings โค๏ธDirk
I must say the best has been the side of the road of course you do need tags registration to keep the cops from writing you tickets I wake up one morning and there’s a freaking parking ticket on my window. I parked in the dark and didn’t realize I parked in a old red zone. It was disgusting. Adding to that when my transmission went out I was parking in front of my job that I managed to get. Five or six months just enough transmission left to take me to McDonald’s and park there and make it look like I could move no reverse for 3 years. Oddly enough my reverse went out the same month my mom passed away. I just looked at it like, forward son. I’ve been hit with graffiti twice while I was asleep. The sneaky little bastards I caught one told him next time use some color.
My home ! Lol
Your a good friend and a very decent van lifer…I would do the same for sure xxx
hi Bev ( what’s going on pretty Girl ) love the way your smile lights up when you talk about how to boon dock and free camp every where keep it up girl

Thanks
Your room is literally like a fabulous gallery! ๐ ๐๐น๐๐๐
love your picts
Wal-Mart normally allows I stayed at truck stops lots of free camping normally with power etc
Wow, I just realized you have a dreamcatcher between your back windows, obviously for catching those dreams, but also, they protect the home from unwanted spirits…. I have mine right in the middle at ceiling peak over my home studio. I love dc’s…oh, and btw, anytime you’re in Florida, n you need to moochdock, feel free to get ahold of me, there’s always room, I only have the one van, n the driveway is plenty wide as the garage is one of those 2 car (attached) to the house…n you’d be less than 5 minutes from WDW, of which I can always get you n yours into(retired=perks, lol).
Lastly, I’m finally catching up on all your groovy vids, but I am curious, how come you don’t have a solar panel? Your roof appears to have enuf room for a single hundred watter’…..or maybe you have one and I just haven’t seen it(I gots 3 more episodes to go, I think) hehe…..keep ’em coming, always enjoy them.~bobby
