Van Life in The Arctic – Part ONE – Living The Van Life

Get all you LTVL swag here:

Winter Content has always been a huge hit here on Living The Van Life. This winter season, I just was not satisfied with driving to a snowy parking lot and setting up camp. So instead I decided to see what it would take to live in a van in the extreme climate of the arctic. Join me in part 1 of a 3 part series as I drive my 2020 Mercedes 4×4 Sprinter Van to the Arctic Ocean.

Do you have a microwave oven?

  2. J.t.R. JP on April 22, 2022 at 7:00 pm

How cold is it really? Is it close to the coldness like yakutia? What do you need to do about your external underbelly water tanks? What about the pipes? If you’re traveling by yourself out far, what recovery gear would you insist on bringing? Going out so far north, do you still get internet connection or do you use satellite phone?

I’m sorry for bombing you with so many questions. It looks really exciting and I hope I could do it one day.

Young man, …At age 62, having read God’s holy written Word ( with understanding / Dan. 10:21; 12:10 ) for 42 years ( King James Bible ONLY! ), I more than anyone ( that I know of ) great ly rejoice when I BEHOLD the Lord’s majesty in having created the great mountains in B.C., as well as EVERYTHING ELSE that I see! …I also glad he used your "very nice video" to show someone like me: Psalm 1:1-150:6; Proverbs 1:1-31:31; Ecclesiastes 1:1-12:14; …Ezekiel 2:1-3:27; 7:1-27; 12:1-28; 14:1-23; …18:1-32; 21:1-32; …33:1-33. …When the time comes ( very soon ), that no one on the earth will be able to buy or sell ANYTHING AT ALL without worshipping the IMAGE OF the beast ( Matt. 24:1-25:46; II Thess. 2:1-12; Rev. 13:1-18; 14:6-20 ); …I truly hope your given by God, the grace to make the right choice ( II Tim. 2:24-26; James 5:19-20; Isa. 55:1-9; Prov. 28:4-6; I Tim. 2:1-5; Luke 18:18-25; I Cor. 15:1-58; Phil. 3:1-21 )! …Because, THESE ARE THE LAST DAYS: Psalm 39:1-13; 49:1-20; …Matt. 6:23-24; Prov. 28:22; I Tim. 6:3-10; Jer. 8:10; Matt. 7:13-15, 21-23, 26-27; Rom. 16:17-18; Gal. 1:7-9; II John 9-11; Prov. 14:7; 29:12; II Cor. 6:14-18; 7:1; John 9:31; Heb. 7:26; I Cor. 3:16-17; Prov. 13:13; 15:3; Heb. 4:12-13; I Peter 1:14, 15-16; Eph. 4:28, 29-30; I Cor. 15:33-34; Eze. 43:1-12; …I John 2:15-17; James 4:4; Phil. 3:2, 18-19; …II Peter 2:1-22; II Cor. 11:3-4, 13-15; Jer. 5:20-31; Isa. 3:12; 30:1-3; 33:14; 56:9-12; …Jer. 23:1-40; Amos 5:21-23; 9:10; …Rev. 2:2, 9b, 20-24; 3:14-18; 9:20-21; …17:1-18:24 …My point is: ALL the evil that takes place in the "United" States of America, and around the whole world is God’s righteous JUDGMENTS on this ungodly nation ( Prov. 3:33; Deu. 28:1-14 [ Blessed ] – vs – Deu. 28:15-68 [ Cursed ] . . .all the details are written in the Psalms! …but, who pays ATTENTION to details of God’s holy written Word? )
    …Someone like me ( humbly speaking: Isa. 57:15; 66:1-2; Acts 3:18-26; 24:14; Luke 24:25-27, 44-45; II Peter 1:19-21; Rev. 1:3; …22:18-19 / K.J.V. only! ). …I type this "long comment" / Acts 20:7-38; II Peter 3:15-18 ) …because you asked me to. ( Romans 1:1-16:27; I John 1:1-5:21 ) …Amen.
Thanks again, for such a nice video.

What was the song at the start?

  23. Matthew Lockhart on April 22, 2022 at 7:27 pm

Great video for sure! But you really shouldn’t make the mistake thinking you’re "stealth" camping. The van screams anything but stealth. And, yeah, always carry cash.

in February I drove to the North Cape with my SUV and rooftop tent; The North Cape is again approx 120 miles further north than Tuktoyaktuk. It was a rather easy drive and luckily it wasn’t that cold. Coldest temperature I had was -7°F
