Hi guys! This was great information as I start my research phase of playing with the idea of Van Life. My question to you has to do with internet access. Your jobs involve uploading large file HD videos, and that requires a solid, reliable, large bandwidth high speed internet. How are you getting fast internet in your van? Some of the things I’ve seen in the different RV Live/Van Life sites points to pocket wifi/hotspot devices, yet that’s still never more than the fastest speed you can get from the cell service provider, which in most instances is LTE (in populated areas) and 4G in most other areas.

Wow, $2000-$3000, that’s a "small side income" for you people? Watching this video really reminded me of just how lacking in perspective some people are in the world. Just, wow.

Sarah, Alex, thanks so much for being so transparent and sharing how you earn a living. It just takes one less obstacle out my way to move toward part time van life. Heard about your link from another van life interview (sorry I can’t remember who!) and glad to hear you talk more about it here. I can’t wait to check it out – peace love and joy 💕🙏🌹

Cool van, you guys gel well together! Would love to see the pups in the background during video with some cute Lil clothes on. Also maybe their names on a plaque in can so we can all know their names. The little face in the black one was so cute!! Great info! I have a bunch of cool fun places you could visit one hour east of Nashville TN. We are also full time working Rv’ers! We have a Monaco Diplomat and two Rottweilers. Message me if you want some fun very inexpensive camp places near Nashville!! #rvlife4life

Hey guys! I just discovered your channel and am loving it so far!! I do have a question that I always wondered about people living on the road that are self employed, do you have health insurance? And if so, what kind, where did you purchase it, is it expensive, etc. I would love to do van life or work remotely but insurance is a big deal for my husband and I.

So doing gigs, YouTube, freelance, selling stuff online is all a bust lol. That’s kinda what I thought. I’ll never bitch about my steady job again. I can fuck off for days on end and know I’m still getting that paycheck.

  21. Ana Paula Moraes on December 8, 2020 at 10:15 pm

    I Love you guys!!!.
I am a truck driver and as soon as I finish paying my bills, I will start shopping for the van. As soon as I am done shopping ( batteries, solar panels, kitchen appliances etc)I will buy the van and finish buiding as fast as I can so I can go back to the road and really see everything. I drive 48 States but I only know the roads.
I want to join your program, but right now I don’t have time to work on something else. I hope by January I can.
    Keep us dreaming…😘

Great video guys! Love the tips and transparency, I’m interested in Vanlife, but perhaps even more so interested in income in a different way than the default 40hour workweek. Subscribed.

Also.. your create40hoursoffreedom.com link in the description doesn’t work without www, I recommend a quick fix 😉

  23. Chris on December 8, 2020 at 10:17 pm

I love the idea of vanlife especially how you guys approached every challenges.
Have you considered photography as side income generation? Being a traveller, you must have seen a lot of beautiful and amazing places, views and sceneries. Not probably the best but just thinking aloud. Anyway, i love you ideas on vanlife!

Freaking awesome advice for us wanting to live a van life and make money.

  26. Emily Mitchell on December 8, 2020 at 10:19 pm

What I like most about your van build is all the windows, thats so important to me, to have all that natural light. I see so many van builds with like one tiny window and it hurts my soul. Also the way the bed goes up is fantastic, so you have full access to those back doors and the views out them

All of these types of income take 6 months – 1year. What about people who are just starting out?

  33. Kevin Berger on December 8, 2020 at 10:23 pm

I have been working from home for over 2 years. All I need is strong internet and preferably 2 monitors. My multi line phone is with intrrnet hence strong connection needed. Would like to discuss floor plans you might know of to accommodate? Thinking monitors mounting on wall and standing small depth desk. I currently pay $1550 per month for rent alone and almost always home. Been watching these videos since September and would like to be on road by September or January next year. I have many questions, available to chat on zoom sometime?

Thank you for the awesome video. You’re easy to watch and the video was helpful. I’m going to consider joining creator club since I have been working on this lifestyle for 2 months now and am starting to hit a peak of what I can learn on my own. I’m hoping it can help to speed up the process and help me to make my first $1 as a content creator!

    Thanks again!

Social Media for the average person is work and a grind but certainly possible and can be fun if you make it a quick, daily habit. The important thing is taking control of monetization (through diversification) as quickly as possible, by providing value and genuine products to targeted segments of your audience. There are thousands of companies that will pay you much larger commissions than Amazon. Ultimately, it’s about positioning yourself as an expert to be in a position to do consulting, with clients of your choosing. I have 5 it other channels for marketing purposes, this channel is a new project. And because I already have a passive income online, I can just casually work on new projects and not be concerned about results just work through the process of building unique brands. Thanks for the info-tainment!

Sara & Alex: you (and similar people out there) should create a Wikipedia (and You Tube) listing of all books that have author and publisher permission to read out loud, cover to cover, on You Tube. The main problem seems to be with the publisher more than author permission. Maybe this can be over come (the four page maximum law written near the ISBN number and near the Table of Contents) by making an international book club out of every quality book, and encouraging every book fan to read at least one page out loud on You Tube. Why do this? 1. This could help billions of people improve their education and quality of life, if they have access to a library with free computer use. 2. About one out of five people is supposed to have a learning obstacle like dyslexia or an attention deficit. Once out of high school, this can create major problems for everyone if the person did not get enough learning and socializing. This can be a form of safe socializing and learning at the same time. 3. This could be a way to use the book, ‘The One World School House’ by MIT graduate, Salman Khan. He used the tips in this book to tutor his neice over the phone and computer after she failed a math test. If he had not tutored her, she probably would have been tracked into dead end math classes in high school and college. He tested his ideas on students in Los Altos schools, near Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California. 4. The two of you will probably have better luck getting official permission from publishers and authors because of your successful You Tube channel ’40 Hours of Freedom’ and they will see your project as a way to increase sales of their books. 5. You two could encourage sales of the books by mentioning that it is helpful for many readers to underline as they read, repeat read to cram before a test, or make personal notes and drawings inside their books as they read. This can ad sentimental value later, to give to their children and grandchildren. 6. All the above can be promoted on Earth Day as part of ‘this is better for the environment’ because tons of quality books and magazines go into the landfill garbage every hour around the world because libraries and second hand stores, etc., are constantly trying to make new shelf space for new items for our throw away culture of the modern world. 7. This could improve conversation for all ages, all around the world, to discuss what has been read in a book club (or any social setting). 8. This could help parents with children and teenagers fill out their education with after school, weekend, holiday learning and have their children better prepared for each new course. 9. This could teach each child and teenager to form their own ‘book club’ on You Tube. 10. This could help each parent record (on You Tube) almost every book, magazine, etc. their child and teenager enjoys and is motivated to read out loud (cover to cover) or even just the cover, back, and inside jackets. This could be entertaining for future generations to watch their parents and grandparents ‘age’ as they read their favorite books. 11. Their are many ‘antique’ books that almost no one is going to remember unless they are read out loud, cover to cover, on You Tube. Many are few in copy and are destined for the garbage landfill. Even the best libraries are doing this to antique books. 12. This could help struggling orphanages all over the world, instead of having their children and teenagers looking at blank walls for years on end, to be able to listen to people their own age read out loud, cover to cover, they might feel less lonely and isolated. 13. Ideally, every class room teacher should consider video taping their teaching in order to show it to orphanages all over the world (including in the USA). Thank you for reading this carefully, discussing this with your friends, and if you are a publisher or author, including your books to this list of ‘permission to read this book out loud, cover to cover, in public, including on You Tube.’
