VANLIFERS: Portrait of an Alternative Lifestyle (Subs: EN-FR-ES-DE-IT) Full Movie

Are you ready to be inspired? Westfalia Digital Nomads is proud to present: ‘Vanlifers: Portrait of an Alternative Lifestyle.’

This free full-length documentary features interviews of #vanlifers from different countries and their unique perspectives on choosing to live in a van.

It doesn’t matter if you’re single, in a couple, with a family – or just at the dreaming stage right now about getting on the road – this film will inspire you to follow your dreams.

The #vanlifers featured in the film talk about how they got started; tips; and even the ‘darkside of #vanlife,’ where not everything is Instagram perfect, like life.

Spectacular landscape cinematography is laced throughout, from award-winning director Armando Costantino.

Please share it on your social, tag friends you know would love to see it and tell others (word of mouth is still a beautiful thing).

And thank you for watching – we appreciate it much. Armando, Mel, Ziggy and Mork

What are your petrol costs per month?
Monthly how much to run the van, petrol, maintenance, food, something of a complete monthly amount for operation of van living?

I do work and live in my apartment , but i have my van for traveling and holidays and its beeing used about 100days a year currently,
one of the wierdest things i find while traveling is people permanently living in a van looking down on everyone that choose to have their "van" as a holiday cabin instead of their perm home ..

I was a lot like these people once. What a bunch of short-sighted bums. What happens when they get old? Who’s going to take care of them? Where will they live? They just seem like lazy, weirdly-dressed, unattractive losers in great need of decent haircuts.

Spring 2021: Now the highways and byways are as congested as the national, state and county parks. Congested with people of choice and livable income and the others, people of little alternative and less than subsistence income. All vying to do it on the cheap. The effects are felt and evident. The free spirits are now illegally setting up on private properties, both known and unknown to the property owners. Not a good trend. And not welcome.

Briljant, much better dan movie " Nomad", that go’s for 80% over people living in HUGE mobile homes with tons of luxery

  17. Jackie Forester on June 22, 2022 at 12:04 am

I love the reason you went to the nomad lifestyle if I heard you right! I would love to do it and get healthier and travel and see things I’ve never seen

I like all of it, and I am gonna try it soon. I have a question, what do you guys do for Dr’s visits, preventive medical care, and dental care? Or worst an emergency? Do you have a solution for this? Or when the van or rv breaks down? What about the children, they are all way getting sick what to do?

Not noticed by enough people are the changes in the banking laws. If a family works and saved their money in a bank, in 10 years, maybe they could buy a house. Banks don’t pay interest anymore making it impossible to save to buy a home. Added to that is adjustable rate interest. If you miss a payment the interest on your mortgage or rent and credit card debt, goes up, never to come down insuring bankruptcy or eviction. In quest for more profits Wall St. is preying on people. We’re fucked…. Homelessness has reached epidemic proportions, (600.000 in the US), with an even bigger crisis on the horizon. Education has become a debt trap in a world where whole segments of jobs and earning opportunities are becoming extinct. Universal data bases that include your credit and health history regularly excludes people from livelihoods and rental opportunities and mobility. Today, for a young person starting out without a send off, van life is the only practical option… You describe van life as a philosophical choice but very soon, it will become a choice of necessity.

Isent this just a magazine show for well off middle class people who have everything but who want to slum it, similar to the eccentric millionaire who walks around with holes in his shoes.

  29. truthseeker on June 22, 2022 at 12:21 am

Sounds interesting, but I don’t want a spouse, 3 kids and a dog living in a van. No thanks.

  30. Bruce Black on June 22, 2022 at 12:21 am

Beautiful i have lived in my van for 8 years its not the destination that matters its the journey that counts good luck to you all life is for living enjoy xxx

  31. michstrito on June 22, 2022 at 12:22 am

So, this movie does not represent my reality. I’ve been fulltiming for 3 years. I’m 73 and retired. My experience has been that the majority of nomads are over 55 and retired. At least it’s that way in the US. All of your subjects are young 20-30-40 years old and mostly couples. What are you saying here?

Loved the film very much! I’m getting my van in 3 weeks! My father passed in January of this year and it’s really put life in perspective for me while dealing with the loss of my best friend and a wonderful Father all in one. I’m ready to travel while I’m still somewhat young. Hopefully I can find some sort of peace out there in the world because I’m definitely not finding it in my current daily life. Safe travels! Thanks

I’d love this kind of life, I’m 20 years old and still learning in web development right now, but as soon as i can work remotely I could pursue this kind of life. Travelling around in a van with maybe my old moped to explore the country.. seems great to me. I could do other jobs on the way too of course, (I’m also into photography, filmmaking etc.) but i’ll figure it out! For now I’ll just sit behind my computer and dream 😉 Thanks for the motivation and the experience!

Such a great view, detailed, honest with real people from different backgrounds. I am 48 now, kids grown up, looking a vans now, been a dream of mine way way back. My teenage daughters are both supportive, needs to happen. Thanks so much for the insight.
