Vintage Mantle Decor 1950’s Living Room

It’s high time for a little refresh on my living room decor! Let’s redecorate my mantle, atomic shadowbox display, and my credenza. I’ll show you some of my kitty figurine collection, as well as some colorful swung glass and lazy Susan’s. Hope you enjoy!

Nice touch rearranging and refreshing! BTW I grew up with a black siamese-Persian mix with white spot on his tummy, just like Mister Johnny Cash!

  4. aquitaineq on January 27, 2023 at 4:04 am

I love the side eye Johnny Cash gave you when you asked him to please not knock anything over!

I have a passion for all linens! I’ve been blessed with many from when my great-grandparents came here from Germany. (I’m 63 yrs old, so those linens are very old). Once, at a vintage shop, I was looking through the table cloths. The owner asked me what size I needed. I told her size never matters- if I love it, I make it work. LOL. I also love bowls and platters, tiny little trays (?). I’m not sure what the tiny porcelain/China trays (?) are intended to be.

I’ve been a little sad that you haven’t been uploading as much but that’s okay, I’m here when you do 😊💕 I just love your videos. I’m trying to collect a set of vintage Falcon luggage. I’ve got the medium and small suitcases so far. I’ll be getting married this year and my husband and I will try to keep the old times alive! I love the 50s and 60s but he loves the late 1800s haha it’ll be an interesting combination.

Your channel just popped up and I LOVE it! I have so many vintage items but they are still in boxes in my garage. I collected turquoise and pink anything. Hmmm, now I might have to unpack it all and redo my kitchen. Your decor looks amazing!

Very cute way to decorate for spring. Love the shadow box. Have you thought about doing a video of what you would wear for certain occasions (like church, Easter, yearly holidays or birthdays)? Loved your Christmas and Halloween.

  14. Elise on January 27, 2023 at 4:11 am

I’m always so happy to watch your videos, thank you! 😊
I love orange, so I have many objects with this color, mainly from the 70’s of course. This color brings me joy & makes me feel good! 😊
And I don’t know why but I love to collect little clocks! 😄 I find it’s a cute decoration!

This may be a weird question to ask but what record player do you use? I’m just someone who’s really into turntables especially old vintage ones like the zenith micro touch

Hello from Houston! Really enjoy what you do, you’ve inspired me on a retro adventure myself! Take a look at Charles Phoenix, he is also a guru of retro, maybe you two could talk!

  27. Tanya Anthony on January 27, 2023 at 4:29 am

Hi Laci!! I just wanna let you know you’re such an inspiration. I just bought at 1952 Chevy and I have always been in love with the 50s. I am so happy that I’m finally transitioning to the 1950s housewife lifestyle. I wish we could hang out sometime!

  28. Sharon D'Amico on January 27, 2023 at 4:32 am

I hope you see this question. What can I expect to pay for an average 50’s dress? I know a lot depends on the condition and location of the country but an average price?? Thanks!

  29. Sara Loudermilk on January 27, 2023 at 4:33 am

I absolutely love that shade of yellow on your walls, it’s very similar to the yellow in my kitchen. For some reason, people have bought into this idea that gray is the only neutral shade out there and I find the whole gray/black/white combo depressing.
The soft yellow that you’ve chosen presents the wood furniture and all the colorful accessories in your living room just beautifully without being overwhelming.

Laci – I discovered your channel about a year and a half ago, and I absolutely love it! You have amazing style (both fashion and home decor), and your videos always inspire me! I’m so glad I watched this particular video because I’m in the process of remodeling part of my home, and you’ve given me some great ideas, like a starburst mirror for my new bathroom rather than your average rectangular bathroom mirror! I also LOVE the pink and red atomic starburst clock on your living room wall. I would love that for my kitchen (also being remodeled). Where did you get it? Keep up the videos and keep being you! Much love, happiness and good health to you and your family. xoxo – meridith

I love your kitty statue collection I have one that was handmade cira 1920s-1930’s because I was my grandfather’s sister-in-law’s mom who made it ( grandfather’s sister-in-law (Marie)was born about 1916 and it was made when she was little ) Marie gave them to me when we were cleaning out her house to put her in a nursing home (we lived at least three hours away by car and could come sit more than a handful of times a year she was in her 90’s and going blind and was hard of hearing needed full time care her side made the 🏡 me decision). She gave me the set it looked like a mama and kitten they have beautiful hand painted flowers on them my family thought it wasn’t fair that I got a few things from her and made me give my cousin something so my cousin has the baby ( I don’t know how hers fairs but mine is still in the same condition it was given to me in and I’ve had it since I was 10 years old I’m in my late 20’s now. Thoughts I’d share about vintage cat statues being loved and cared for

I love your presentation and personality which makes watching your channel very enjoyable. I just found you recently by mistake and so glad I did as I am into nostalgia myself. I am an artist and sometimes do nostalgic pieces. This is one piece I think you will appreciate . It’s painted in a draw! I tried to send the photo but didn’t see the icon to forward it……Can I send it to your email address or another way? I’m an older person who can be challenged by technology at times! Thanks Lacy

  38. AliJayCraft on January 27, 2023 at 4:51 am

My dad grew up in the 1950s. He said you reminded him of his mother. How she dressed and how she arranged the house back then.

At the moment, my collections are mostly Bohemia crystal with the pinwheel pattern, and the old Corningware with the blue cornflowers. They’re pretty inexpensive and common so it makes me feel happy to be able to find them in the thrift shop in my small town.

Love what you did! As a black cat person I’ve been wanting to let you know that I think I finally found my “Johnny Cash” type of bonded cat. I’ve had Winston now for only three days and we have this soul connection! It’s something I can’t quite describe. I know you know exactly what I’m talking about. 🖤🖤🖤 I know this will be a beautiful journey with my new beautiful baby boy.
