Visiting Valley of the Gods FREE CAMPING BLM Land AND USA's SCARIEST HIGHWAY 😱

Visiting Valley of the Gods FREE CAMPING BLM Land AND USA's SCARIEST HIGHWAY 😱

We scope out free camping areas in THE Valley of the Gods BLM land area which is AMAZING. Then we visit the MOKI DUGWAY, one of the USA’s SCARIEST HIGHWAY’S and Muley Point! We had heard great things about the RV Free camping options at Valley of the Gods BLM in Monument Valley, but had never heard of the infamous Moki Dugway. It is actually a part of Highway 261 in Utah which connects to Valley of the Gods so they pair well together to visit both, but it ranks as one of the USA’s CRAZIEST DRIVES for a reason.

We didn’t end up RV Free camping in the Valley of the Gods since we already had prebooked this whole 100 Day USA RV road trip but still wanted to get a feel for it for our next USA RV travel’s and to share it with all of you if you need some good RV boondocking or RV free camping ideas. Especially being able to free camp in Monument Valley is a bonus as there really isn’t a lot of options to camp in Monument Valley for how busy it can get otherwise. RV camping around all the buttes and the mesa would make for such a memorable Utah camping spot.

Even if you don’t end up RV camping in Valley of the Gods in Utah and are just driving through like us, it is such a fun and scenic drive to get off the highway of Monument Valley and drive around some buttes, and then connect to the Moki Dugway on highway 261 which then connects to Muley Point road. It will definitely be a road trip with some amazing views and memories made.

Thanks for joining us on today’s RV travel vlog friends! A little more of an adventure day on this 100 day USA road trip but hope you learned more about the amazing BLM land at Valley of the Gods and the Moki Dugway and Muley point area! Some big Utah parks up next!

Is that a one way road????

Great job showing the boondocking spots & all of the info on the area! I understand reserving sites – knowing you have a spot is a giant peace of mind.

There is a road behind my house that leads to really nice camping that is just like this highway you drove over. I know it’s safe because we’ve been able to squeeze past people on it but I tell my husband to drive the road, because apparently he learned to drive on this road 😂

So glad you are enjoying my State! Valley of the Gods and the entire region is so amazing. You must have planned far in advance to get into Devil’s Garden campground. Good for you because you will love it!

Luke that was a pretty " A-MESA-ING " Dad joke you made for a guy who has only been a father for a little over a year . Don’t worry that you get no respect for your wit. It is the burden we bare as fathers with little or no appreciation . I’m sure my children could readily point out mine but I surely remember many of my Dad’s gems.
One of my fathers favourites was the old chestnut, when ever we passed a graveyard he would invariably point out " PEOPLE ARE DYING TO GET IN THERE " and I would give the world if I could hear him say it one more time .

Do you feel like you’re in a John Wayne movie? Arches will blow you away! Bring cold neck wraps to keep you from roasting 👍💕‼️

Not sure how current your videos are, but If you are planning to go to Arches, it was announced recently that you will need reservations to enter the park. Very high amount of visitors has brought on some closings of Arches.

Hey Luke and Alysha…Glad you are enjoying Utah!!! We also went to another part of Monument Valley right near The View Hotel and Gouldings Lodge…it is a 17 mile unpaved road …Look it up on line…The Moki Dugway was an exciting drive for sure…We told you that Utah would be something completely different for you two!!! All the best from Hank and Pam from South Texas!!!

Have you heard of Moki Dugway before? We knew driving the amazing free camping area of Valley of the Gods would be spectacular but had never heard it connected to highway 261 with such a WILD extra thing to see and do. Especially to be rewarded with the views from Muley Point overlooking the goosenecks. This was all worth it and INTENTIONAL unlike last RV vlogs trip down the dirt road we got lost on too at least😂. Consider checking that fun one out if you missed it too!🍁 —– https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIVmCwm4vJo

Back in 2011, I took a "detour" towing a 16 foot travel trailer down the Moki Dugway with my 2WD F250 Diesel.
I did it on purpose, knowing what was ahead. My wife did not know. She says we’re not doing it again.
I knew about the Dugway because my father-in-law had mentioned towing his 28 foot trailer down it some years before, using the same truck.

The multi Dugway we’ve seen A RV 5th wheel actually coming down it when we are there in Late April spent 2 weeks camped there Very beautiful spot.

The really sad thing is there are literally millions of people in our country that have never taken the time to drive out west and see this amazing landscape! Including my parents who have only traveled a few states away from Pennsylvania. My husband and I started traveling 25 years ago and they are the best memories of my Life Time.
