I want to see what really happens when men cook meals with nobody around. Break out the ramen noodles and hot dogs or a can of chili or even some nasty MRE. Then finish it off with a soda or or beer. Now that would be real.

What is it you pour on your logs to light them? We used firelighters in the uk but here theres very rarely a time we need any heating. Sometimes in January evenings we may have a fire for an hour but thats only if it gets really chilly. Coldest here is around 9-11° but it soon warms up in a few weeks. I grew up in Cornwall, one of the most godforsaken dumps in the uk! Constant wind and rain, barely had a snow fall, once in say 4 years if we were lucky. I would never go back to that place. Spent some time in Lithuania and although it was -22° at one point and the wind was bitter as hell, it still felt warmer than cornwall as the air there was very dry.
THIS COST A TON OF MONEY !!!!

I would imagine the snow could be put in a reservoir and used for water like cleaning and possibly be boiled or put over charcoal filters and used for drinking if it can be cleaned

It looks like you get most of your electricity and heat (except for the wood fire) from propane, is that correct? How often would you say you need to go into town to restock the propane and how much does it cost?
