Wifeless Wanderings – Part 1 – [Solo Truck Camping Through The Western US] – Vlog 14

With Sasha in Russia, I (Scott) get a chance to travel alone in our Cirrus 920 Truck Camper. I share my daily activities and the highlights of my travels. This episode starts in Fillmore, California just after Sasha left for Russia and take a trip through Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. There are a few surprises along the way and a mini-mission that I have a desire to accomplish.

Join me as I show you some beautiful scenery and some of the adventures of a Full-Time Solo Truck Camper Traveler.

You remind me of the time my sons and I nursed a Merlin back to health. We bound him in a sock until he could fly again. Very cool!

Oh man, we drove through LA and was brutal! Great video. You don’t use your front storage rack? The exhaust brake is a must when you are in the mountains and being 16,000lb. Tracey and Christian

  7. travelin tom on July 21, 2022 at 2:45 am

Awesome view thru Sequoia NP. Those are most amazing living plants. Northern CA near Cresent City has several areas preserved much less crowded.
    Enjoyed your video!

Anybody ever tell you that you look like and have the same facial mannerisms as Adam Sandler?

Use my exhaust brake all the time with camper on or when towing my 36ft travel trailer . Loved the big trees in seq can’t spell it don’t miss redwoods too

I love how the bird just hung out and let you do your thing. Way to go!

  14. Edward Carter on July 21, 2022 at 3:03 am

More than likely a lizard tail. Tail stays moving after detachment which helps the lizard escape from its enemies while the enemies concentrate on the moving tail

  15. Vince on July 21, 2022 at 3:03 am

Wow… Great videography and editing! Really enjoyed it. Thanks!

You saw some amazing scenery. Your wife’s going to be jealous that she missed so many great places. Great rescue of the birds.

  18. Pamela G on July 21, 2022 at 3:06 am

This is fun following you along with your other half on the other side of the pond! Enjoyed every minute, don’t worry about the hair but the add ins are funny!

  19. Gordon Townsend on July 21, 2022 at 3:08 am

Chevy 2500 with duramax. When the 920 is on or in towing my 36ft Winnebago I just leave the engine brake on all the time. It works in tow haul or regular but tow haul is the most effective. Great feature you don’t get with gas.

  20. Uncle MrD on July 21, 2022 at 3:08 am

Enjoyed the scenery, thanks… Cheers 🥂

I would be hard pressed to go through LA in these times. I was stationed in San Diego in 71 to 75 and at that time it was bad now worse than ever.

  22. Amy Delpiere on July 21, 2022 at 3:10 am

What a great adventure! Thank you for stepping up to help one of our bird friends in peril 🙂 Looking forward to the day I make that drive to see the big trees and the Pacific shore.

  23. Living Beyond Existence on July 21, 2022 at 3:11 am

This is a great video! Beautiful scenery. Awesome drive. Enjoyable music. Saving one of God’s creatures. Hilariously bad hair. And a bit of dramatic adventure with the in-camper avalanche. This video had a little bit of everything!

  24. Louis Normandin on July 21, 2022 at 3:12 am

is that a Jakes ice cream shirt you had on ?

    Great video!

  26. nightfall22 on July 21, 2022 at 3:15 am

I love sequoia. The general Sherman is amazing. It’s been a good 18 years since I’ve been. Seeing you sneak and grope and fondle the tree and run off like a bandit made me laugh. Seeing the vandalism on the trees is sad. But the bark and those damn vandals is a few reasons as to why those trees are fenced off. Great job with that bird brother

  27. Dennis Truby on July 21, 2022 at 3:17 am

Love Sequoia & Kings Canyon! It’s been several years since we visited so it was nice to see it again thru your eyes. We visited pulling a pop up camper and look forward to doing it with our TC next time. Thanks for posting your journey!

  28. Tom Bota on July 21, 2022 at 3:18 am

Enjoyed your video. I’m considering a 22′ travel van and your comment on length restrictions at Sequoia reaffirmed my need to max at 22′. Great scenery … no city traffic for me! I subscribed.

Scott Terry here Old Navy Photog I’ve got to say your photography and videography is stunning I was a still photographer in my Navy Days and very good at. On my Alaska trip I will do some video but mostly just still shots. I wish I had someone going with me that could help out. My wife of 42 years does not want to go and she doesn’t know which end of the camera to look through. Anyway you two are amazing.

  30. RV NUT on July 21, 2022 at 3:21 am

Great video and amazingly beautiful views.

  31. Bobbleheadwil on July 21, 2022 at 3:22 am

We really loved this video, you’re guys videos get better and better. Especially love seeing you take the time to save that bird, well done.

  32. Nikki Newman on July 21, 2022 at 3:25 am

When you return to Northern California, save some time to visit Southern Oregon. The Redwoods will impress you. They are even bigger than the Sequoia’s. Also, Crater Lake is one of the most spectacularly beautiful places you will ever go.

  33. Roadside Resident on July 21, 2022 at 3:25 am

Scott is also a human rescuer. I have medical conditions and he – a then stranger – helped me with a difficulty I had with my van. I pulled up next to Scott in a parking lot and without hesitation he spent quite a bit of time helping me with the difficulty. It ended making him late for the store we were both at that closed bizarrely early on a Saturday. Scott was nonetheless a class act and great help. This was in April 2021. Thank you Scott!

  34. 4EverHoneymooning on July 21, 2022 at 3:25 am

Hopefully you guys make it back out as Sasha definitely missed some incredible places. We actually had a close bear encounter while at the base of General Sherman, thankfully the bear paid us no mind. Kings and Sequoia are amazing places.

  35. Terry Larkin on July 21, 2022 at 3:28 am

    Excellent bird save

  36. Todd Felts on July 21, 2022 at 3:30 am

Damn Scott, there for a minute I thought you where about to become a “Tree Hugger”…LOL. Just Kidding bro!!

  37. Tim Rotunda on July 21, 2022 at 3:33 am

"Service she provides"??? Oh man, you are going to pay for that one. I suggest a nice diamond or gold chain.
