I like your angle on the trends best of all the videos I’ve watched. Thanks for your sensible and realistic perspective.

    Love your sweater!

  5. Chris Prpich on January 3, 2023 at 3:04 am

Loved this video. I myself don’t do alot of trends i basically decorate with what i like. And yes i’m a big thrift store and garage sale hunter. Love upcyling any items i find. Thank you for sharing all the great trends. Loved it. 😊❤️🇨🇦

  6. Gail Bradford on January 3, 2023 at 3:04 am

Traditional, traditional, traditional! Always in trend because it is colorful, unique and cozy warm for everyone.

  7. Jules Oyler on January 3, 2023 at 3:07 am

Just finished watching your video, it was of course, good!

  8. pat montalbano on January 3, 2023 at 3:07 am

So who says what’s a trend? Do what you love.

  9. Amber Koster on January 3, 2023 at 3:08 am

So many interesting trends! I definitely enjoy putting or updating little pieces into my home to keep it fresh and try new trends while also staying true to my own love for light and airy spaces.
When I think 70s (though I loved the fashion trends) I think of wood panelling and mirrored marble veined tiles on walls. Please, none of that! 😅
Are there wall paper trends happening?

Rug gable is far from budget friendly !!!
Have seven kids and three large dogs
    Needed them
    Can’t afford them !

I’m moving the eco conscious vibe, not only does it look good (as do you!) but it also is great for the environment. And it lasts longer (:

  12. Deborah Potestio on January 3, 2023 at 3:09 am

Oh my gosh! Your inspiration is never ending. Thank you for your continuous ideas.

  13. Nina Johnson on January 3, 2023 at 3:10 am

Love and have traditional with cozy.

I’m happy to see trim accents coming back ‼️ I have flat panel cabinets that I want to put trim on right now.

  15. GnomeAlone on January 3, 2023 at 3:12 am

Thanks for the disclaimer to do what you love. The internet era exerts an unrealistic and unsustainable pressure to follow trends, which ultimately is just about selling us more and more stuff.

  16. Pam A. on January 3, 2023 at 3:13 am

This video was fun to watch. Beauty comes in so many shapes, sizes, styles. It is fascinating to see style evolutions and new trends. Painting velvet fabric, or any fabric seems like a very short term solution, though. Can’t see that holding up unless the piece is never used. Agree that we should decorate in styles that are "beauty" to us. Real beauty is always in style.

  17. Genevieve Randall on January 3, 2023 at 3:14 am

Yes! Stand up for what you love! I don’t think that our bedroom even HAS a decor style label, but I love it!

  18. Becky Frazier on January 3, 2023 at 3:18 am

Do you have to the cow print?

  19. At Jenny's Place on January 3, 2023 at 3:20 am

Awesome ideas. Loving how each can be done on a budget. Think I’ll be embracing a bit of each one

  20. Mrs. B on January 3, 2023 at 3:22 am

I was kind of wondering if the cape cod cottage will trend in the next few years. Red brick, diamond shaped windows, hedges, brass…. I wonder if we will see blues and whites trend in another year or two as a traditional compliment to darker wood?

  21. Annette Thomas on January 3, 2023 at 3:23 am

Great video. What I would give for the wine colored sofa. I’ve wanted to do a few of the marble pedestals for awhile, so I will be checking out the videos. Always enjoy your content as you and your hubby are both so talented. Happy New Year.

  22. Inthe Sun on January 3, 2023 at 3:23 am

I agree with “do what you love”. I’ve been collecting and refurbishing furniture for over 40 years now. There are things I have had for that long I have never gotten rid of. Including our first dining table that was solid oak from maybe the 1930’s. It’s been a dining table, oversized coffee table (new wood legs, didn’t cut down the original solid oak ones), and now it’s in our spare bedroom for the grandchildren to use as a desk when they visit. I’ve seen styles go in, out and back in many times. The classics always remain relevant.

  23. Margie Lee on January 3, 2023 at 3:25 am

I’ve always decorated to my taste no matter the current trend but these trends put my style right on the cutting edge! Finally! lol

  24. Melinda Chitty on January 3, 2023 at 3:26 am

Love your makeup! You are looking younger!

  25. Linda Woodfill on January 3, 2023 at 3:27 am

I’m not a treading person. I’m a country , cabin, farmhouse , like what I like type of person . Since I’m getting closer to retirement the next few years depending on how I feel . I’m working on downsizing.

  26. Jo-Anne Murphy on January 3, 2023 at 3:28 am

Having lived through the seventies I cannot think of any fashion trends I’d like to repeat! I would love if you did a video on upcoming paint trends

  27. Tasha Bradshaw on January 3, 2023 at 3:28 am

Thank you for encouraging us to just go with what we love rather than worry about being trendy. I’m a maximalist, lots of color and texture. I will never change that. Our homes are supposed to be our happy place.

  28. James M on January 3, 2023 at 3:28 am

I’m 58. I never did ANYTHING In order to be "trendy"…or to attempt to impress anyone. I do me…For ME!
I think if anyone conforms to "trendy "…it just means they have absolutely no thoughts of their own…SHEEP.

  29. vaderladyl on January 3, 2023 at 3:31 am

Is Ikea quality the same as it used to be back 16 years ago? That dresser still looked new and that might be because it was treated gently but also because the quality seems to be good.
I love the 70’s boho eclectic, especially the colors.

  30. Christine Oates on January 3, 2023 at 3:32 am

    Happy New Year 2023🥂❣

  31. Kay Thompson on January 3, 2023 at 3:41 am

    Great video!
Your sweater color is absolutely beautiful!! And…you look fabulous in that shade!

  32. Stampers Secret on January 3, 2023 at 3:41 am

Momma, you look so beautiful. Happy NY.

  33. Jan Rankin on January 3, 2023 at 3:42 am

First thing, Happy New Year to you and your family. The 2023 new trend is looking good. It’s giving enough verity decor for everyone. Easy upgrades. Have a wonderful day.

  34. teresa williams on January 3, 2023 at 3:44 am

    Great video!

  35. Jenn's life in Huntington WV on January 3, 2023 at 3:46 am

I can’t deal with white and beige. I need color!

  36. Shelly on January 3, 2023 at 3:46 am

Keeping what you love brings more happiness to me than a magazine worthy room.

  37. Sondra D on January 3, 2023 at 3:48 am

I want to try the dark moody somewhere in my home this year. Perhaps my office.

  38. Kathy Olgeirsson on January 3, 2023 at 3:48 am

Christina, your hair color is beautiful, and that deep red shirt is lovely on you! ❤ Happy New Year to you and your family!

  39. Jeanne-Marie on January 3, 2023 at 3:49 am

Love your ideas, wishing you and your family a very happy new year 🎉

  41. Michelle M on January 3, 2023 at 3:52 am

Happy New Year. I love that the rich deeper colors are coming back. I am burnt out on greys and whites. Thank you for the great information.

  42. Canadian Girl on January 3, 2023 at 3:52 am

I don’t like "Trendy". I prefer gathering timeless classics that never go out of style. A collected home has a more homey comforting feel to it, than a home that completely changes every five to ten years.

  43. M on January 3, 2023 at 3:53 am

Im a long time subscriber and enjoy your content and approach. It does surprise me when people criticize your personal home. “Stuck in the 2010’s” comment towards your bedroom is rude imho. Your bedroom is such a personal space and is styled beautifully.

  44. Gina Friend on January 3, 2023 at 3:53 am

I guess Today’s Trend finally caught up with me. I painted my LR walls very dark some yrs ago, and have a dark shade of red velvet sofa and loveseat. I can’t do trend, I’d have to be changing it up every year! ☺️

  45. Carol Schultz on January 3, 2023 at 3:54 am

I think they are all beautiful but I like you am not that trendy. I like what I like. Less is more.😊

  46. Patricia Reeps on January 3, 2023 at 3:54 am

Happy New Year. Love all the info on the newest trends. I love traditional and symmetry in my decorating but I do buy a few thrift pieces to keep my decor from looking too stale

  47. Son Reflections on January 3, 2023 at 3:54 am

Thanks! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family

  48. Cheryl Martin on January 3, 2023 at 3:56 am

Happy New Year! Health and happiness to you and your family

  49. Sarah C on January 3, 2023 at 3:57 am

Loving these trends. Another great video!!! I love watching you and your ideas come to life!

If you love your decorating v you should keep it. Who can really afford to redecorate all the time?
