I feel like for some reason it’s difficult to maintain a potted plant in an apartment. I don’t know if it’s due to it’s stuffiness in a small space or what it is. Any advice of a low maintenance plant maybe or what to do?

Use fake plants if you keep killing them like me. XD

Not so much a minimalist tip, but if you do have some favourite pieces on display, odd numbers always look better together!

I love the two mountain framed artwork at 2:41. Does anyone know what style of art that is? It is very calming to me. Water color maybe. I am not sure what to search for to find like pieces.

I love maps as art, especially antique maps because they are beautiful and can represent a special place

My tip is to use a neutral palette but to incorporate one colorful hue, to keep it warm, but simple. For me, I like a brownish-orange. That can be in using wood tones, or a fuzzy blanket, or using a lamp with a colorful base to contrast the white walls. I like using autumn colors a lot!

Yes! I’ve been waiting for a video from you on this topic, and I’m happy that they’re all great tips. I’ve recently (finally) started adjusting my furniture and decor to match the kind of minimal mood that I want to achieve, especially when it comes to bedding. I love the tip regarding meaningful art, I actually have something that fits that:

Right above my desk is a framed vinyl sleeve cover of Wu-Tang Clan’s first single, Protect Ya Neck. It’s very clean-looking and due to the age of the art (1993) the single has this off-white milky color contrasted against the black lettering and artwork. I thrifted it for only $2 many years ago and I’m so happy that I’ve kept it for so long and that it goes with my minimal aesthetic!

Great vid. We have browns and earthy tones too. And a few antiques as decor. I have like one or two bigger items rather to have a lot of little things. I also no longer collect anything 😀

My color palette is black , and i decorate my home with air.

I definitely agree that plants can help liven up a home! However, I find it easier to use fake plants instead of real ones since I don’t feel confident in keeping one of those alive xD

Thank you so much! These tips is so helpful!

I’m not exactly a minimalist per se but previously I was into very bright colors/ interesting patterns and over the past couple years I’ve switched my home interior to neutral tones and simplistic art work. My anxiety has calmed down significantly

  28. constant change on March 7, 2021 at 12:20 am

You’re bot minimalist with words "inject" and "incorporate" though lol

My minimalist style is kinda 60s boho with oranges and yellow with Grays and whites. I had no place for my guitar so I hung it on a wall, now it’s a focal point 😊

You talk too much, show too little.

  33. Jean Shimpeno on March 7, 2021 at 12:29 am

I see a lot of minimalist homes with white walls. I am a minimalist but I do like color. Most of my walls are light green or blues. It is very calming. Don’t be afraid of color. Add a new color with throw pillows or simple accessories. White can feel cold and boring.
