Virginia. A state that seems to have it all. There’s mountains to climb, slopes to ski on, beaches to hang out at and delicious seafood. It’s one of the wealthiest and most successful states, when you measure income levels and education. Some good people all over the state – the mountain folk are kind and generous and look out for one another, too. And while Old Dominion might seem like a good place for a vacay – it might not be where you want to plant roots…well, at least not in the 10 cities we’re going to talk about.
We’ve looked at a wide range of data, including crime rates, unemployment rates, poverty, education and more. Plus, we took into account YOUR opinion – that’s right – you Virginians have a lot to say about which places in your states are great and which are not so great. Sadly, while “Virginia is for lovers,” there’s not much to love about the following places we’re going to talk about. Let’s begin, shall we?

I lived in south Boston Halifax it’s not much of nothing down there you’re right that’s why I lived in Danville also on West main Street right across the street from the gas station but one thing I can say it is a lot of crime it is this and it is that but the children I seen down there they were into reading books a lot and I’m from Richmond Virginia Northside highland Park living in Danville as a nurse I could find nursing jobs even jobs at a gas station will hire me I would have stayed in Danville but I moved back to Richmond because of my transportation and everything was far away in Danville the people I really nice and friendly and share

Honestly , I think Haymarket VA may be the best place to live in
Near Bristow & Gainesville which are also great areas. Decent schools too

This is really funny. I like how, with Roanoke he said, "Heading to Southwest Virginia!" Dude, Roanoke is Southwest Virginia just like Galax, Richlands and Marion. Southwest Virginia starts in Roanoke going west. Central Virginia starts east of Roanoke like in Bedford. I am truly surprised that places like Grundy, Lebanon, Haysi, Honaker just to name a few wasn’t mentioned. Good information though…

Richmond should be on this list. Their Mayor and board members have killed this cities tourism and do little for their citizens.
I’ve lived in Roanoke since 2001 and I can definitely say it’s grown a lot in the past 10 years. Admittedly, I did resent Roanoke until the last 5 years, for being so lame and uncultured. But wow, it’s really growing! There’s a booming music scene, a lot of breweries and unique small businesses, The Roanoke Pinball Museum & The Roanoke STARCADE Video Game Museum, Star City Games, Black Dog Salvage, MOUNTAINS AND a river and so many outdoor activities, I could go on. Roanoke is pretty awesome these days.

I am an implant from North Carolina to Danville, VA. On one of your older videos, Danville was the worst place to live in VA. On this list, it’s number 6. Perhaps after the New Casino is built and it brings in more revenue, the city will upgrade a lot of stuff, and then Danville will fall off this list.
