Do what you like but that wicker I can’t bring myself to do it!

  3. Windmillnut on July 20, 2021 at 3:15 am

I personally do not like the trend to have a cold colors of black grey and white trim to contrast

  4. Heather Smith on July 20, 2021 at 3:16 am

    Subway tile isn’t a “tread”. It’s been a basic since the 1930’s

  5. Beate Evans on July 20, 2021 at 3:16 am

Love your common sense approach to this! You are giving lots of "food for thought" as you mentioned, while encouraging people to stay true to themselves and their individual taste! Just found this channel and have loved it 😍 !!

  6. The Hour of Witchery on July 20, 2021 at 3:18 am

K I must be high AF because it’s my first time here, 1 minute in and I’m legit howling because he looks like Johnny Knoxville and she looks like an Olsen twin. 🤣….. Subscribed.

  7. Grace Hill on July 20, 2021 at 3:19 am

Thank you for clarifying boho vs nomad.

  8. Niecee on July 20, 2021 at 3:19 am

    YES!!!! 🥰

  9. -Missy- on July 20, 2021 at 3:23 am

Shot in a room painted black, top to bottom…

  10. Susan Taulli on July 20, 2021 at 3:26 am

Nomad is new to me but I’m loving it.

  11. Rosemary Dolliver on July 20, 2021 at 3:26 am

I like blonde wood floors. Dark floors show too much dust/dirt.

  12. dgriite on July 20, 2021 at 3:29 am

I’m halfway through and so far I disagree with every single point. The alternative to Boho – Nomad – looks just a tad more colonialist and like slapping "exotic" leopard prints or Japanese patterns on a pillow or wall makes you more worldly and more familiar with how other cultures decorate their interiors. What bullcrap. At least Boho is more honest.

We live in a monkey see monkey do world. Everyone here in coastal Orange County loves the exterior black window look. Will the trend last? Only time will tell.

I am a firm believer in a segmented home. I have a 1960s home and it’s naturally segmented. Front half is designed for entertaining and back is more lounge every day but the walk flows for entertaining.

  15. Wendy Ann on July 20, 2021 at 3:31 am

Simple white subway tile will always be a timeless classic as long as it’s done correctly. ‘Trends’ usually only have a shelf life of about 10 years, the classics, like subway tile, schoolhouse lights, will always look good.

Very sick of everything being some form of gray, for the past too many years; prior to that it was decades of contractor-beige. Everything having to be matchy-matchy; and the overly-done "artsy" pieces [plural]. Let’s mention the "shabby sheik" trend by some that just will not let it die and go away. I don’t have tired, or broken vintage or true antique furniture in my home because the ancestors I inherited from took good care of their things, and that is what I have done too. Intentionally goobering up something just makes my skin crawl. So does automatically painting over actual quality wood pieces "so it ‘goes’ with the rest of the Ikea cr*p" in the room.

  17. Zie Teniere on July 20, 2021 at 3:33 am

Need less floating head and more visual examples but good otherwise!

  18. MATRIX-OO7 on July 20, 2021 at 3:34 am

My favorite is dark wood floor with a subtle hint of gray in it and a subtle hint of mahogany. I do love herringbone wood floors kind of reminds me of Parisian apartment. This could either be ultra modern or very traditional or very casual.

I liked this video, subscribed because of it. I would like to learn more about the philosophy behind "resting the eye" and "the travel of the gaze".

  20. Candace Turner on July 20, 2021 at 3:35 am

I think it’s all about balance & buying what you like. Not too much of any one style or colour. Bring some plants & flowers indoors. Have one feature wall that’s a different colour or texture to the rest – like stone or brick or just a different paint colour. Wallpapers have come a long way too. You can change colours of your home with cushions and throws, which is a lot cheaper than buying new furniture. There’s even patterned & plain lounge & dining seat covers now that easily stretch over your furniture and are washable. Lots of options out there. It’s about you & what makes you feel comfortable in your own home 💚🪴🌷

  21. Lynnette Jennings on July 20, 2021 at 3:37 am

I’m so glad to be past the need to stay on trend; with furniture; clothes, hairstyles, etc.
Now, my home, my clothes and my hair are truly me. And ironically get so many more compliments.

  22. princessdyn on July 20, 2021 at 3:38 am

White paint and blond wood = my nightmare.
I want white walls with reddish, orange-y wood trims, doors, parquet floors etc.

  23. lgamble on July 20, 2021 at 3:38 am

I don’t think open concept will be ever totally go away. It adds light and space that will never go out of style.

  24. fiamma valli on July 20, 2021 at 3:38 am

Open space forever! The other can build walls in their homes

  25. Kelsea Martin on July 20, 2021 at 3:43 am

So basically she’s coming for scandinavian design

  26. Lee Ann Grush on July 20, 2021 at 3:43 am

    Very helpful thoughts!

  27. jessie justus on July 20, 2021 at 3:43 am

When I change the decor of my house it’s usually a throw pillow or rug and if I feel extra crazy I might paint a wall lol

  28. KC Mabel on July 20, 2021 at 3:44 am

I think you naileded it ! I love a formal dining, I dislike a fully open concept. Also nothing against structural pieces but they are so bulky and over the top. But I do love blonde woods I am hoping stays a little longer.

  29. karina martins on July 20, 2021 at 3:44 am

Just found this channel. I’m in love with you guys!!!

  30. MHE220 on July 20, 2021 at 3:46 am

The laugh and admitting you’re insulting your viewers and the criticism. And next, the gorgeous styles you’re mocking. Ew. I usually enjoy your videos, but wow, stuck up much? Not everyone can anticipate/afford a complete revamp of their design choices 3-4 years down the line. Clean it up.

  31. Jenna M Neal on July 20, 2021 at 3:48 am

Awww you two are adorable. I love how intent he watches you. It’s beautiful. Not really the point of your video but ♥️

  32. Sarah Keling on July 20, 2021 at 3:48 am

Some of these trends are an overcorrection from farmhouse 😂😬

  33. Kaity Gervais on July 20, 2021 at 3:50 am

I would love to see your list/review of 10 timeless trends to take advantage of this year/in the coming years! Kind of as a counter to this video

  34. Communicate With Color by Brittney Rae on July 20, 2021 at 3:52 am

I thought this video was awesome. You guys have great energy! I also love that even though you have opinions but you don’t force it onto others! If you love it then buy it but… It’s great for the insight!

  35. Anne Campbell on July 20, 2021 at 3:55 am

You must go with what you love! I never ever follow trends….

  36. Mateusz Wojtkiewicz on July 20, 2021 at 3:56 am

Subway tile is a trend? It’s been a thing for over 100 years. And messing with it is going to make it date faster.

TBH I really don’t understand this video. You’re basically naming timeless designs, calling them outdated, and then proposing replacing them with currently trendy things that’ll go out of date in 2 years.

  37. Senvia on July 20, 2021 at 3:56 am

I love modern Chinese because the furniture is super light and not heavy. Only down side is putting it together.

  38. Hello goodbye on July 20, 2021 at 3:57 am

Hello… "investments" yeld returns. Stop calling spending money an investment.

  39. Shelly McLauchlan on July 20, 2021 at 3:57 am

I don’t like rattan – I got some cane outdoor furniture and it just went to shit

  40. Heather St. John on July 20, 2021 at 3:58 am

I like my interior design like I like my diet: everything in moderation.

  41. Lucille Arevalo on July 20, 2021 at 3:59 am

    Love you Two!!!!!

  42. Selina Burford on July 20, 2021 at 4:01 am

Yes! Please bring back regular clothes and furniture that doesn’t look like you college bean bag!

  43. Grace Hill on July 20, 2021 at 4:01 am

Your laughter inspires me that fun love does exist!! Keep up the trend talk.

  44. Elena Alvarez on July 20, 2021 at 4:02 am

Lots of contradictions in this video 👎🏼.
For me, furniture and style is about comfort, functionality, and my own sense of style. At the end of the day I am the one living there. Boho is not leaving, Scandinavian style (e.g. “blonde” wood) is not going. Open concept could also be a good thing…

  45. McKenzie Gillespie on July 20, 2021 at 4:03 am

I’m not letting go of Rattan !!!!

  46. Ceil Constante on July 20, 2021 at 4:08 am

I find this so comical and tbe major reason most people are in debt.

  47. Leah Lu on July 20, 2021 at 4:09 am

How do you feel about accent walls?

  48. Danielle D on July 20, 2021 at 4:09 am

Hi Valentina! Thank you for your videos. What is a luxurious color palette? What are these colors??

  49. Miłəňåīr on July 20, 2021 at 4:10 am

I’ve never gotten visual fatigue from marble counter tops just sayin just in case anyone’s bored & wants to renovate my apt building for free hehe
