I am so excited to show you my 1950s inspired bedroom makeover. I was flipping through my vintage McCall’s magazine and discovered some photos of this beautiful pink 1950s bedroom and felt so inspired, so I decided to give my room a mini facelift. I gave myself a $200 budget for the project and managed to find a beautiful pink 1950s inspired quilted bedspread, pink shag rug, and a cute vintage-inspired train case to finish the look. I love how fast and easy it was shopping at @Wish. All I did was type in vintage bedroom decor in the search bar and discovered so many cute feminine items. I can’t wait to add more vintage-inspired elements to my bedroom in the future.

I do love the bed, and side tables, my favourite things in the room. . In the 70s ( very popular from the late 50’s) in the UK, my parents had an ‘eiderdown’ ( satin covered, feather filled comfort) and candlewick bedspreads. I could describe them, but it wouldn’t do them justice.

I always wonder how you keep your room so gorgeous with a cat! Josie isn’t destructive, but knowing her, she would be all over the bed rearranging the pillows to HER liking! I have to move her to go to bed at night! XD
Anyway, you nailed it with the makeover! Those blush & bright pinks are on point for the 50s!
It looks cute. Reminds me of the idea I have of Ann-Margret’s bedroom in the movie Bye Bye Birdie. Way too girly for my husband so we have a kind of neutral mid century modern bedroom. I will send you pictures on Instagram. How is your real bedroom, I wonder ? Kind regards,

Love the train case. I have a jewelry armoire that I have outgrown due to over 200 Art Deco necklaces. I had to use mini ice cube trays inside the drawers to keep them separated. Czechoslovakian glass is my downfall.
Absolutely beautiful! The lace trim on the bedspread is stunning. Pink is one of my favorite colors. I am obsessed with train cases, tea sets, vintage dishes, vintage table linens, vintage perfume atomizers, vintage powder compacts and vintage jewelry.

Love your vintage jewellery, I have some vintage jewellery myself, some of it is my late mother’s, some was brought secondhand and some is mine dating back to my late teens, when I started collecting jewellery and so only as small amount of it is very old.

I am very happy to know that someone else loves vintage…liked it my whole life…even when I was wearing new clothes I designed the combination of clothes to look like a vintage look from the ’20’s, 30’s, 40’s…have 1930’s dresses in perfect condition used to wear to parties with open backs and peplum type hems all perfectly sewn in hems no sloppy hems … they knew how to really sew back then … Also am a vintage vase junkie crazy for Art Deco…such an elegant era in design…love what you did with your bedroom…when ruffles & satiny fabrics & textures were IN…always liked the sound of organza evening dresses whisking past satin bedspreads in old movies & thinking that lady must be wearing a very beautiful perfume … the sound of scrunching taffeta skirts when a lady would sit down at a dressing table to ponder her lipstick and powder her nose…fabrics used to be lovely…the rustling of tule skooting into a doorway…ultra-feminity…a friend of my mother’s was like that…always cashmerey beige very blond very elegant but very personable will always remember her…would set a ‘little table’ with crisp linen tablecloth when she had dinner parties for the big people so the little ladies had a special table with little gifts & a silver bowl of fresh gardenias … She must have had one of those pretty perfumes you talked about on you perfume segment … Her home had very high ceilings
& long long velvet drapes & a cascading staircase … She loved having the little ladies over as she did. not have daughters … Her son was absolutely stunning looking
& he would stop by our little table & ask if we were enjoying the party …
Much older & looked like a movie star & think we were stunned & so shy & embarrassed sometimes he would serve us our dessert … We. nearly fainted … organza & taffeta & velvet & silk with cashmere … Fabrics were at one time soooo beautiful … that lady was like a petite Grace Kelly…did not know whom she was … But that lady was everything charming & elegant & sweet … maybe her daughter would have had a bedroom like the one in your 1950’s Bedroom … So pretty …
