Today we’re talking about free camping! In fact, we’ll be talking about 20 free camping sites you’ll freakin’ love. We loved each and every one of these sites and want to share them with you.

Free camping AKA boondocking is almost always an off-the-grid experience. This means you’ll have to come prepared with your own water, power and waste management plan.

Hi, we’re the Bradys! We travel the country in our self-renovated 1979 Airstream Argosy. We hit the road in September of 2015 with the goal to live minimally, seek adventure and enjoy the freedom of RV life. We’ve learned a lot in those years and have used that experience to create informative content about the RV lifestyle. We strive to answer any and all questions you may have that will help you on your journey to RVing!

Nice video, useful info. Did not mind the walking, lol. Too bad nothing in the Northeast. Somehow, can’t find anything here. Closest to free is State Park and National park at $20/night. That’s on top of the Park fee. Still no bad but I’m a bit jealous of all those options in other parts of the country.

Hi! Thank you for this great video. I’m 61 and one year out (preparing now) from going on the road. You asked for suggestions. Would be great to know for each place how many days you can stay/30 days. I know the info is available in the interwebs, but…just a suggestion. Thank you. Great video quality!

  25. berniedmj1 on June 24, 2021 at 2:32 am

I hate to say this but some of those free campsites in the blm are closed. Why? Because some people overstayed their stay & they left their mess too. A vanlifer YouTuber reported it.

  26. Philip Santoro on June 24, 2021 at 2:32 am

  27. luna araujo on June 24, 2021 at 2:33 am

love the dog!!!!! thanks for the info

  29. Philip Santoro on June 24, 2021 at 2:37 am

What is your definition of big rigs? 30 ft is where I draw the line between “normal” and “big”. < 20 ft is small ( pop-up, trailers such as yours, small couples/starter TT, camper vans)

  30. frances fritticci on June 24, 2021 at 2:39 am

Free boondocking campgrounds are closing in Utah and Nevada because of littering violence and drugs they need to get rangers and hire them to monitor these lands are tax dollars are paying for it

  31. chicn wing on June 24, 2021 at 2:44 am

We stayed at sacred white shell mtn in October, loved it, no aliens but at 11 pm the moon was so bright you could read a news paper

  32. F D on June 24, 2021 at 2:45 am

Best video by far….. But I’m concerned about security. Leaving my travel trailer at the campsite while I visit the town. Or at night while we are asleep should sooner kind of self defense weapon be recommended?

    excellent video and info…i’m subscribing

  34. Maria Roche on June 24, 2021 at 2:45 am

I’m guessing there is no such thing as making a reservation at a free campsite. I assume its all first come first serve, right?

  35. Drivin' and Vibin' on June 24, 2021 at 2:47 am

Let us know your favorite free campsite! Was it on the list?

Does anyone have some highly rated privately owned campgrounds in Ohio and West Virginia to suggest? ……some places are $40 to $60 a night….the state parks are always booked a year in advance now……and are highly crowded…if they add on the sites are narrow to park on so you step out the door and there’s a drop off….not great when your knees are not in best shape…..
You are in a restored camper? …we have seen campgrounds that will not allow old campers in, they’re too much of a danger to them but the crazy partying campers in big rigs aren’t…😡Although we were at a campground that had a barely together old camper pull in, filled with too many people who stayed over their allotted time and then left…camper…trash and their dog behind…..yep abandoned it all in the night…..paid with a stolen credit card so those ruin it for restored older campers..
