Our main entry way is the kitchen. How could we make that work better? Any ideas?

  9. Laurie Clarkson on March 20, 2021 at 12:55 am

This gave me a lot of things to consider on how I use my entry way, ideas to organize my drop zones, and how a rug and placement of furniture can create the look of a foyer when you technically don’t have one! Thanks!

  13. Ammiel on March 20, 2021 at 1:05 am

Bit too cluttered for me, even though I have some items around, less is more, and I like colour the outside is full of greens, blues, flowers a rainbow of colours why would you have so soft like no colours in the house, where is the actual pop

A nice closed cabinet can also be styled to store hats, gloves, scarves, gators, shoe spikes for ice and it becomes a nice spot to layer with a small, decorative rubbish bin (so you can sort your mail straight away) and/or umbrella stand.. Save the closet, if you have one, for coats and boots. If you don’t have closet, you can combine the cabinet with coat hooks and an open bench so you can have a nice boot tray underneath.

All does to me is make it a cluttered space. A narrow entry table next to the door against the the door wall would work better.
A lamp, a decorative bowl for keys, etc. A place under the table for shoes, an umbrella holder next to the table.

  23. AnaPap on March 20, 2021 at 1:15 am

I love these ideas for creating a faux foyer.

  40. sagrammyfour on March 20, 2021 at 1:34 am

Ha ha ha ha (fake laugh). God forbid you should have a meal prepared for your loved one…

  41. P M on March 20, 2021 at 1:35 am

Good topic. You need a stool for you and guests to change shoes, a mirror, and a place to HIDE your keys, not on top of a table. Hooks for guests coats…for sure.
