We gave interior designers Jenny Kaplan, Darren Jett, and Chiara de Rege a photo of the same kid’s bedroom—then asked each of them to create a new design for it in their particular style, however they pleased with no restrictions. As a kid I would have been in awe if I walked into any of these rooms, especially Darren’s.
I love this serie, but now that almost all the rooms in the house have been done, why not redo the whole lot but this time with 1 restrictions (for example "small" budget or "you can’t change the windows and walls"…) ? That would be interesting too.
I think all three of these people have no children(opps one Mom still promising something fun but BORING). just THEIR ideas of what THEY would like WHEN they were kids/ Honestly I don’t like any of them for a kid…. a whole room of the same color dusty rose???Sea horse scones maybe for Grandma who tattooed her arms with turtles and fish/

They don’t have any taste.

Jennys idea of gender neutral is just brown..
At first, I though that I would like Jenny’s concept (The cubic bed frame 🛏️, the seat under the window and floating shelves). But honestly, I find that this wallpaper is ruining the decoration (the patern and the faded color make the walls look covered into ceramic tiles)

I think standing in Jenny’s room would feel very different to the render. That wallpaper would be stunning in person and the bed would be a cosy, happy nook. But I had to laugh at how young she pitched it. Definitely a teenager’s room, even possibly a college-aged person.
the 2 ladies always do same boring neutral rooms , very dull n lame!! they shoulg get some young designers to showcase their talent!! the guy is always very creative!!
While I don’t really gravitate to her design as much as Derran’s personally, I appreciate Jenny’s advice on the carpet tiles!
Every details darren’s adds in his design has purpose! Really smart! I love that he said he is designing as if the "young darren" will use the room itself. As designers, we should always keep in mind to put ourselve’s into our client’s shoes to basically know what it feels like to live and to exprience our designs.

Darren’s designs are always surprising and full of high-quality ideas. This kid’s room makes me want to have it too
Darren never disappoints! I aint gon’ say anything about chiara and jenny, cus their designs were just bad.
I have some thoughts. A fish bowl is no fun for the fish in it and should be avoided at all cost. A desk under a window encourages the kid to look out and daydream instead of being productive.

Darren’s room is a real child’s room. Very fun, but still I don’t like how he moves windows around, I don’t think that’s something they should be able to do…
Chiara’s room look like it’s for a 19 yo Amish teen (with all due respect) fun not allowed.
Jenny’s room looked like a psychiatric hospital at first (bad), and ended up looking like a badly designed student accommodation (bad)
All 3 are so vanilla and boring

Darren is hands down my favorite. The brown one absolutely not. And the third one just was too basic. 16:40
Darren’s design is splendid as usual, but Jenny’s is more practical, and what an interesting and beautiful choice of color for a kid’s room! As for Chiara’s, not a fan, it lacks cohesion, too many disparate pieces.

For continuity, i’ll be choosing Jenny’s for sure.. but if i was a kid, Darren’s design is definitely dream for every children out there.. that’s it.. please don’t get me started with Chiara’s.. i just can’t. Just don’t 😭

Are those 2 women high? Chiara was only designing for herself, Jenny for a prison and boy why talk like you don’t even care 😴💤 Darren was the only one with imagination and he delivered, an actual kid’s room. Beautiful.
They were all great designs.
Darren made an absolute dream themed kids bedroom, it was very accurate.
Jenny’s room was not perfect for kids, but was something pretty lovable as you grow up, but the lack of playfulness was felt.
Chiara’s room was thoughtful and practical but it could be more sophisticated with a lesser felt blank space.
Jenny’s space reminds me of a hostel or dorm..Chiara’s looks like its for an older posh European teen and Darren’s room is whimsical and dreamy
I love the aqua design, but, please, do not buy spherical and small fish tanks. It’s really bad fir your small swimming companion, they are not just decorations
Why do the women designers sound dead when speaking
Im surprised they have kids with these rooms. I can’t feel any of these for my children, but the ocean room was pretty.
Darren ever misses. I love that room. Elevated luxury but for kids. Love it.
Neither Chiara or Jenny thought to put a closet in. Where do their clothes go? Once again, Darren wins in my eyes. I would have loved to have had a bedroom like the one he designed. Darren rocks!!!! I want a show with just him.
Darren you said no long curtains because kids might pull them. BUT you enclosed the bed in curtains
it really irritates me that chiara referes to her style as modern, it is everything but modern
