When you’re looking for an RV that fits your travel style, there are many factors to consider. Some of these factors might include size, drivability, amenities and creature comforts.

Are you wondering if a class B RV is right for you?

Today we’re sharing five reasons you might want to avoid them.

Let’s dive in.

Hi, we’re the Bradys! We travel the country in our self-renovated 1979 Airstream Argosy. We hit the road in September of 2015 with the goal to live minimally, seek adventure and enjoy the freedom of RV life. We’ve learned a lot in those years and have used that experience to create informative content about the RV lifestyle. We strive to answer any and all questions you may have that will help you on your journey to RVing!

Number 1,2,&4 are the reasons I would love to get a class b

  2. The Matterhorn Yeti on February 23, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Class B is the best. You should not buy anything bigger.

  3. Kat Moran on February 23, 2021 at 10:10 pm

I’ve owned trailers, a Class C, and now a Class B. It’s an intentional choice for compactness and convenience. The approach of this video was odd and misleading. These are reasons you avoided a Class B. It may very well be the best option for others. And to me, living in the Pacific Northwest, I much prefer to have the metal van.

  4. Shannon Strickland on February 23, 2021 at 10:11 pm

Kyle, I am trying so hard to find a builder for a sprinter van in AZ. Actually anywhere without a waiting list. If you are aware of any please let me know. The boho email I received from you has a long waiting list.

  5. Koley W on February 23, 2021 at 10:12 pm

It seems like you just need workarounds for these 1st world problems.

  6. J A Breck on February 23, 2021 at 10:13 pm

The wet bath. I never sat down and took a shower before. I love it! Cleaning my feet sure is a lot easier.
I know a lot of people who have left their trailers and they were broken into. No thanks.
    . Paid 87K for 2017 Class B
Was offered 60k at dealership last week.

  7. Bernie Hyland on February 23, 2021 at 10:15 pm

We purchased a new Class B because it’s the perfect size for day cruising and occasional overnights. You don’t buy one for long term living.

Don’t need another form of transportation. Don’t want or need a permanent bed. Don’t need a big bathroom. And we have more than enough storage.

  8. Catherine Piazza on February 23, 2021 at 10:21 pm

All excellent points. Not the best value for the money if you’re doing more than a weekend.

  9. Beach Dogs on February 23, 2021 at 10:25 pm

Small is good for one person, easier to drive.

  10. Angie Romano on February 23, 2021 at 10:25 pm

Can’t you get a Class B with hauling capability and haul a camper trailer or toy hauler

  11. Ben Reeve on February 23, 2021 at 10:27 pm

All 5 reasons why I want a Class B – it would have to be my daily driver.

  12. lwc2009 on February 23, 2021 at 10:28 pm

meh… I bought a used 2003 Roadtrek with 150K miles and it’s been a workhorse of a vehicle… changed the shocks, then drove it from NorCal to Virginia and back without a single problem… the best money I ever spent ( well, maybe the $$$ for my divorce 😉 ).. anyway, they ALL have pro’s and con’s so it’s up to each individual’s needs…jmo

  13. Christopher Goetz on February 23, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Don’t really agree with the list at all. However I’ve only used trailers and A’s and C’s
Many of your 5 apply to A’s and C’s and all RVs so should not be on list. (Storage, Park and Leave, Bathroom size).
    Reasons for a class B
    – remote access, 4wD, drivability, get around town
    – better construction than Class C
    – Compact and right sized for 2
    – reasonable fuel economy

    Reasons not to
    – price
    – you want to live INSIDE your RV
    – any of the points above not important

  14. Midlife Mom on February 23, 2021 at 10:30 pm

Perfect for husband and i for weekend getaways or campsites near towns where we can bike. We are not boondockers, only want convenient getaways and ease of driving

  15. Mike on February 23, 2021 at 10:30 pm

the title of this video is misleading – should be top 5 cons for class B RVs. these are also well known reasons as well

  16. Mrs. Kitty Larou on February 23, 2021 at 10:30 pm

3 things: I dont like the wet bath. I wish they make one with a full shower and dry bath. Also i wish they had another bed at the top, like the Class C. Last, I absolutely hate the slide outs and pop ups.

  17. David Mueller on February 23, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Class B’s get driven. not parked long term.

  18. gatorblu on February 23, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Informative video with a bad title. It should be titled "Why a Class B Might Not Be for You".

  19. Kubel Wagen on February 23, 2021 at 10:34 pm

    Very helpful tips, thanks.

  20. Dingfelder Smurfalot on February 23, 2021 at 10:34 pm

You didn’t mention one of the worst things about a Class B or about a van — for full timers, especially. If it breaks down, you now have no place to stay AND no way to drive around. And living in hotels is very expensive. In some cities you can hardly even find a vacancy in the summer.

  21. Kevin Strutt on February 23, 2021 at 10:36 pm

We have a nice trailer we pull with a diesel pickup for long hauls, a B roadtrek for day trips and a nice Holiday Rambler C for towing our race car. LOL

  22. Cass Ramsey on February 23, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Id rather not deal with leaks coming from class c and a

  23. Ankle Donna on February 23, 2021 at 10:37 pm

Nothing beats a Class B for stealth camping in cities and towns.

  24. Roy Cosio on February 23, 2021 at 10:39 pm

    Depends the customer…
Class b like you said is perfect for its market.
Many people agree with your 5 reasons…for me all 5 are no biggie

  25. Professor Murray on February 23, 2021 at 10:40 pm

You didn’t mention the sewer connections / hose storage. We looked at several and all had terrible connection setups.

  26. Luann Texas Citizen on February 23, 2021 at 10:40 pm

I just can’t imagine fulltime living in a class B with my 3 labrador retrievers.

  27. 2Tim215KJV on February 23, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Does a class B campervan require a class B driver’s license? Wondering why they classify these campervans as class B since they are under 26,000 lbs?

  28. kitd56 on February 23, 2021 at 10:41 pm

At first I thought this was going to just be a dissing against Class B RVs. Quite the opposite. This is an excellent, well balanced assessment. I found it hugely helpful. Thank you!

  29. Stephan Oltmanns on February 23, 2021 at 10:43 pm

in a Bathroom that size they should at least use real metal shower hoses that hang straight down. They stopped selling them in the US as part of the Chinese Product revolution so I got mine in Germany 10+ years ago and they are great. Those plastic shower hoses are the worst.

  30. John Stewart on February 23, 2021 at 10:46 pm

So I buy the RV, and plan a 4-day drive. Would you IN ADVANCE identify campgrounds, Walmarts, Highway rest stops, or other over-night spots? Or would you take-off and start looking locally at 4pm, wherever you are? I am told I can’t overnight on property that I OWN in CA.

  31. Madeline Kovacs on February 23, 2021 at 10:46 pm

Anyone who looked into buying a Class B is aware of all these things and I’m sure they aren"t disappointed….. not to mention they double for a daily driver. If you want to be a minimalist then buy a Class B…anything else is a waste.

  32. Shocker on February 23, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Does Toyota make a class B?

  33. stuart gregory on February 23, 2021 at 10:49 pm

Yes please Sir. I thank you for your honest assessment of a class B. But, when you get a "B" it IS! an exercise in MINILISM! You DO NOT bring all the extra "stuff" that you would in a Class A or C
I have thoroughly enjoyed your video Sir. All the best to you. Cheers.

  34. Heather Whatever on February 23, 2021 at 10:51 pm

Class B’s fit length restrictions in national parks.

  35. Piter on February 23, 2021 at 10:53 pm

B class? like B category driver lic.?

  36. Rickelle Ruby on February 23, 2021 at 10:54 pm

So what exactly do you think is one step up from my Class B?

  37. Sam Macaw on February 23, 2021 at 10:54 pm

Obviously you either hate camping or have never been.

  38. Don Tran on February 23, 2021 at 10:54 pm

    I believe it

  39. Jen 33 on February 23, 2021 at 10:58 pm

It is true some class b rigs are really expensive. Having more of them being built and sold, the secondary market and rental market will flourish. I can rent one to try out, see if I enjoy traveling in one before I decide if I’d buy a used one or not.

  40. 888sentz on February 23, 2021 at 11:00 pm

Class B’s are the coolest though.

The only viable reason was #5…cost. They make many B- vans for half the cost in Japan and Europe for 1-2 people. Probably not for full-time but great for two week vacations.

  43. littleaub on February 23, 2021 at 11:03 pm

Omg, you are not telling any one something they will not figer out as they look around foe a rv to buy, you can find 5 things if not more, about any class motor home or travel trailer or truck or car, or person, what are you doing ? wow.

  44. Roadtrek Ralph on February 23, 2021 at 11:03 pm

No permanent bed? Not enough storage? No permanent camp site? Small bathroom? You might as well stay home!!

  45. carl kenyon on February 23, 2021 at 11:05 pm

Oh yeah , I carry around a propane firepit ! Made me laugh

  46. L8Review on February 23, 2021 at 11:05 pm

Have you checked out Modvans? They are more of a camping van that is an SUV replacement. So definitely more rugged than Class B RVs. But has the benefit of both everyday vehicle and camping lifestyle.

  47. Don Tran on February 23, 2021 at 11:07 pm

It doesn’t matter A or B you in a van either way you will disappointed no matter which ways soon or after few months.

  48. J on February 23, 2021 at 11:07 pm

    Doesn’t mention B+ 🤣

  49. Angel On A Mission on February 23, 2021 at 11:08 pm

I think class B’s are absolutely perfect for some. I would avoid certain types that others would not (A-C-fifth wheel). There is something for everyone.

    Insane MSRP!!
