If there’s one thing I’ve learned working in the RV industry, it’s that the term “camping” can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people! And that also means that there is a different solution for everyone when it comes to finding a place to rest your head (and your wheels) for the night.

Hi Mandy! I sold my condo and expect delivery of my 2021 T@b 320S late Oct., traded my Chevy Cruze in on a newer Jeep Cherokee 4×4 Ltd., and when I stopped in at Camping World to do a little shopping, I ended up purchasing a Good Sam membership! I also have my Lifetime Senior Natl. Parks pass. Looking forward to seeing more of North America and also hope to attend the NuCamp rally next June! Thank you for sharing all your videos and beautiful photography.
I got a Thousand Trails membership with my T@B and I didn’t use it once. I chose the zone that included Texas, thinking I would probably stick close to home the first year. I don’t think I would purchase it again. Harvest Hosts sounds great, though! Sisters on the Fly is $70 per year and that doesn’t include the fees for any of their events. It’s been my experience that the big ones fill up with a wait list as soon as they are announced and in my first year as a member I haven’t been able to go to any of them. When I mentioned that to someone, I was helpfully told I could always plan and host my own events. I guess it’s more about camaraderie and sisterhood, and I did get to meet several of my “sisters” at the Tiny Trailer Rally.
KOAs are great. Most offer a 10% Veterans discount (can’t be used with a KOA membership). When we needed a stay for laundry, strong wifi, and other amenities, we always chose a KOA.
Have you been to the Tampa show? Because they too (like Hershey) say they are the largest 😜
You can also use Good Sams at Pilot/Flying Js for a discount on gas! I have been saving at least 5 cents a gallon since joining earlier this year!!! I like Pilot/Flying Js because they have separate RV lanes, and sometimes a Cinnebon!
Another one I like is the Escapees program. They not only have discounts at rv parks all over, but they have their own rv parks and co-ops that so far are the cheapest I have found to stay for a week/month (not sure about the daily rate). Plus if you are working on the road you can join the Xscapers program (free with Escapee membership) to connect like-minded fellow rv’ers.

The funny thing about harvest host is just about any winery or brewery will let you stay without a membership
How can you be members of Harvest Hosts and Boonedocker Welcome if you don’t fully use your onboard restroom?
