Thank you and thank you again, Mr. Lewis!!! Bravo!!! And biss!!! Now I know what I was looking for and how to get it. I wish you a very happy life!

  2. Michelle Cruz on June 8, 2023 at 1:10 pm

Great job. I liked it. I find myself liking so many things in each style and it can be daunting to hone in on exactly how do I want my house to look.

  3. Lisa Collins on June 8, 2023 at 1:12 pm

Please don’t take offense because I really like your videos but you talk so fast what you are saying loses it’s impact because there is no time to take the info in before you have moved to the next thing. I know I will probably get yelled at for saying this but it’s just an observation and opinion.

  4. Pamela Krumvieda on June 8, 2023 at 1:15 pm

I was about 6 minutes in when I realized you were going alphabetical order. It made my heart zing! This is the video I didn’t even know I needed. It is almost a mini text book of design and a great reference for filling my new home this year. Great idea and perfect execution!!!!

  5. Alexis on June 8, 2023 at 1:16 pm

This was amazing. I feel like you gifted me the ultimate encyclopedia on interior design, but in a quick video form. Or ultimate crash course. I’m absolutely saving this for future reference. Thank you so much!

  6. Dana Berez on June 8, 2023 at 1:18 pm

    I’m totally 100% organic modern!!

  7. Ashley Litebrite on June 8, 2023 at 1:19 pm

Oh I found so many new styles I love love love! Especially Dark Academia, Harry Potter, anyone? 😀

  8. Tiffany on June 8, 2023 at 1:23 pm

To have explained 50 design styles in 25 minutes was a feat, but well done. Some of these were new to me. Now I feel a bit more informed 🤗.

  9. Lena on June 8, 2023 at 1:25 pm

I feel like my favourite style would be a mixture of transitional, grandmillenial (but please no flower prints or blue and white ceramics), maximalism, eclectic and some arts and crafts furniture pieces mixed in.

  10. Edith P. on June 8, 2023 at 1:25 pm

WOW what a great resource! I finally know my preferred style….Thank you Nick!

  11. S Pfisterer on June 8, 2023 at 1:25 pm

You just made it very clear to me why I don’t have a specific style… There are way too many great ones to choose from.
Thank you for putting so much valuable information in one video. If you ever feel like it, I would love a series where you talk about each style in a longer format…

  12. Meghan Walker on June 8, 2023 at 1:25 pm

First thing this video taught me is there are FIFTY design styles!

  13. Janet Davidoff on June 8, 2023 at 1:26 pm

I lived in several Arts & Crafts homes in Texas, and loved them.
Here in the mountains, I am shifting toward Japanese and Wabi Sabi. My outdoors is shifting faster, have a 5 acre food forest, paths, and two zen gardens, plus a huge food garden. I have lots of plants, but not fancy like Biophilic.

  14. Stanton on June 8, 2023 at 1:27 pm

You’re missing Slumlord style; painted over outlets and fixtures, combined with with a combination of broken and semi-broken appliances. The color pallet focuses of white-whites and dirty beiges. Cockroaches and ants bring in a touch of nature, rounding out the style.

  15. hellradiolives on June 8, 2023 at 1:28 pm

I am adding this one to a Playlist as I can see myself referring to it often. I appreciate the amount of work it took to put all of this together and think it would also be an excellent book or manual.

  16. J BF on June 8, 2023 at 1:28 pm

Excellent video, very comprehensive but not at all overwhelming.

  17. Hermititis on June 8, 2023 at 1:28 pm

    Maybe you could cover Colonial?
    I like pineapple motifs. 😄

  18. Kendrick D Carter on June 8, 2023 at 1:29 pm

SteamPunk is like that weird resort you won a vacation to “that time”. That’s the vibe. It’s giving “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” or “Back to the Future”

  19. Garlic Girl on June 8, 2023 at 1:35 pm

THANK YOU for actually going through them all. Most do 10 different styles but I figured there were more because on Pinterest I used to see African design. I will keep this one in "save".

  20. jessica martinez on June 8, 2023 at 1:35 pm

Thank you!!! This video has helped me pinpoint the style I’ve been looking for to design my living room! I could try and describe it but not quite….but now I can!!
Your time and effort is much appreciated!!💛 art nouveau/deco= beautiful!!

  21. Susana N on June 8, 2023 at 1:38 pm

Nick you are simply the best. You deliver interior design info at an elevated level here on YT. You are my favorite interior designer on this platform. Thank you!

  22. Nick Lewis on June 8, 2023 at 1:39 pm

This one is a doozy! Let me know in the comments if you have any other interesting insights into any of these styles – I’m not an expert in 50 styles so I’d love to hear from you! Also the deep dive videos into a bunch of these styles are linked in the description. Also, here are the VERY important timestamps for easy reference later. Enjoy!

  23. Suzan Donahue on June 8, 2023 at 1:40 pm

    What if my
‘design style" doesn’t fall into any of these categories? I guess I don’t have any style 🙁

  24. Rachel Crossen on June 8, 2023 at 1:41 pm

Wow I had no idea there was so many specific styles

  25. Gregg Doty on June 8, 2023 at 1:41 pm

Me: Minimalism + Neoclassicism. Love me some Robert Adam and Palladio, etc but also Hausmannian Paris apartments. I guess I’d want a minimalist version of Neoclassicism or a minimalist space with hits of Neoclassicism. Also like Art Deco, Dark Academia, Greek, Japandi, and Scandinavian. Styles not mentioned which I like include Swedish Gustavian, Empire and Biedermaier, all of which, granted are sub-styles of Neoclassicism.

  26. Pam W on June 8, 2023 at 1:42 pm

    That was THE best! 🎉

  27. Lynn Newton on June 8, 2023 at 1:43 pm

I think I’m eclectic? Thanks for the extensive information! Will there be a quiz?

  28. maria zurita on June 8, 2023 at 1:43 pm

    Loved this! Thank you!

  29. The Table Company USA on June 8, 2023 at 1:46 pm

The natural material stuff is awesome 🙂

  30. John Panozzo on June 8, 2023 at 1:46 pm

This is an absolutely fantastic idea. Thank you very much.

  31. Harley on June 8, 2023 at 1:46 pm

I have a combined mid century and steampunk style in my home and I’d LOVE to send you photos to see what you think. I get a ton of compliments and comments when people come over lol

  32. Slow Happiness on June 8, 2023 at 1:46 pm

How much would I have learned at university if you’d been there. Forget that I’m probably older, you are an amazing teacher, perfect blend of intelligence, interest and standard language

  33. Marls one on June 8, 2023 at 1:50 pm

This is a very comprehensive list. Thanks you so much. Would you have a picture of a French Provincial Kitchen? I am curious what cabinets would match all the ornate trim work as well as the back splashes it would need.

  34. sharon McBride on June 8, 2023 at 1:51 pm

WOW this was incredible. It was so interesting to see how many design styles exist on their own, and how many share elements. Thank you so much.

  35. Julia Hawley DuBay on June 8, 2023 at 1:52 pm

This was great for me to sharpen my language around design. Thank you!

  36. Delirium Zer0 on June 8, 2023 at 1:54 pm

omg idk if anyone else plays House Flipper and The Sims and stuff but this just gave me SO much inspiration for styles to decorate with, haha! So many styles I didn’t even know existed, and also I now have much more clarity on the differences between a few of the really similar ones. Thank you for this, I’d LOVE indepth looks at some of these in the future! This is AMAZING.

  37. Kaitlynn p on June 8, 2023 at 1:55 pm

Now I have a word for the style that I most don’t want my home to be – Transitional hahaha

  38. Ali Poole on June 8, 2023 at 1:56 pm

Okay, this is it,I am so discussed with YouTubers that address themselves as Interior decorator’s and worst Interior Designers . There are a few that are actuality educated with degrees . As a PROFESSIONAL Interior designer, draft man and artist ( four year degree). It insults me! Any one can order a room of furniture an unbox it and call it decorated. We learn rules and practical skills to make homes functional and beautiful. I have it , thought I would comment to an audience that needs help.

  39. GentleTaipan on June 8, 2023 at 1:57 pm

Nick, I think it would be cool to do a series evaluating famous movie set styles. Some of these movie sets have beautiful interior designs. The Great Gatsby for Art Deco, Lord of the Rings for Art Nouveau, etc.

  40. TheGPFilmMaker on June 8, 2023 at 1:58 pm

Renovating our house right now – top to bottom – and I needed this!! I’d define my style as bohemian/English Countryside/Transitional! Would have said Arts and Crafts before – but that explanation of English Countryside really helped me get words to the way I like to decorate and design.

  41. Katarína Perháčová on June 8, 2023 at 1:59 pm

    Amazing video, thank you 👍🏼

  42. Paula Olson on June 8, 2023 at 1:59 pm

Could you do a version that is chronological (not alphabetical) order? That would be so helpful. Same clips but arranged differently.

  43. Leonie Harry on June 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm

Is it now called "Modern Farmhouse" or should it be called "contemporary Farmhouse"? 😉

  44. Maria Jessica on June 8, 2023 at 2:01 pm

My fave fave fave video of yours❤ now, I know that I’m Transitional😊

  45. Keira Fort on June 8, 2023 at 2:01 pm

I love transitional style but I struggle to get inspiration under that category as of late. I feel like organic modern gets misclassified as transitional. I’m seeing a lot of Scandinavian elements being classified as transitional based on what’s popular on social media (light flooring contrasted with black elements like lighting and cabinet/door hardware etc)

  46. Ian Haramaki on June 8, 2023 at 2:02 pm

This is where I realize unfortunately my apartment is Dark Academia lol

  47. Poppy Sydney on June 8, 2023 at 2:03 pm

This video was amazing! Well done Nick.

  48. Allison Angier on June 8, 2023 at 2:04 pm

Wow, wow, wowwow, Wow. Epic, channel defining video. Succinct. Heavily researched. Expertly edited. Masterpiece quality!

  49. Forbidden Crypt Soup on June 8, 2023 at 2:05 pm

Where do my fellow post-modern buddies shop for furniture, other than thrift stores? Any particularly good websites? Its a bit of a struggle to find places with that sort of sensibility.

  50. Kendrick D Carter on June 8, 2023 at 2:06 pm

Was going to request this type of video a few weeks ago. But I thought “he didn’t ask me” lol so happy you produced it.
