My mom had that colorful, crazy light in her classroom she taught in. When she stopped teaching, she gave it to me and I repainted it gold, took off the shades and put those industrial lightbulbs on it. Now, it looks like a whole different lamp; my sister didn’t even realize it at first.
Dang that whole bit on the wine bottles, "they are all different colors and sizes and cluttered looking" literally all the reasons why I like them 😂
Lol she may have good tips for minimalists, but I love my maximalism! I dont like mess but aesthetically placed "clutter" has a charm to it

If you have that rainbow lamp give it to an online teacher you know if they have no budget for lighting 🌈 ❤️ they can move the arms all around and adjust easily in a small space!
Sometimes the truth hurts but you are so right. I have several pieces of original art. I live near a great art college. I find art at many places goodwill the restore and even local auction. I buy what I like not what I see in store ads. I enjoy looking at each piece if I stop enjoying I will pass it to someone that enjoys it.
I have a few words for you….. "Live Love Laugh" ….. "Dance like nobody’s watching"

I have a beverage center and my alcohol is in decanters.
😂😂 OMG I collected bottles in college 💀. We would sit around and be like remember that night and pointing at the bottle why did we do this lmao. I had that lamp too 😆.
I always love your ideas. One thing I thought of on the alcohol situation is that nice crystal decanters can look nice as well, as long as there isnt like 50 of them lol. Also, I am a sucker for those apothecary jars lol, however, I have them in my bathroom filled with cotton pads, cotton swabs and loofahs. No colorful items in them. It doesnt look bad in my opinion, but someone else might hate that haha.

I agree with all of these, but, BUT, don’t ever get a faux leather anything. It is a waste of money, looks cheap and never lasts long. Faux leather is literally leather colored plastic. Dont do it. STraight up ugly plastic folding chairs are better than faux leather chairs.

I had very expensive fake plants (flowers). When my mother came to stay for a few days she watered them as they looked so real.

As an artist I have an ever growing number of paintings and drawings not including things I’ve acquired from other artists. I swap out what’s displayed every so often, usually on a seasonal basis. It helps everything feel new. It’s like shopping without spending money.
Remember, one’s person’s ugly,is another person’s pretty.

as a collector of MANY figurines and plushes….
My solution is pick like 3 or 4 of each and place them nicely with some of my other decor or plants that it works with and then have the rest stored away and then each month or so I just Rotate and change them out, so it looks like I have something new when all im doing is switching them around. plus it feels nice, like you said with less out/or around you can appreciate them much better when theres only a few on display (only in my bedroom) ^w^
