9 Cheapest Class-B Campervans Offering Practical Living in the Wild in 2021

Today we are continuing our Series about the cheapest RVs on the market and this time the most versatile class has fallen under our magnifying glass. Modern class Bs possess economical engines, great handling and practical interior layouts that fit all of the necessary amenities. Bear in mind, though that in this episode we will be reviewing only full-size class Bs without looking into the smallest campervans the likes of VW California or Mercedes Marco Polo, it is a topic for another video.

0:45 #1 Winnebago Solis: winnebago.com/models/product/solis

Though, slightly exceeding the “affordable” benchmark, the Solis by Winnebago is one of the last Promaster-based campervans within the American manufacturer’s lineup. This Class B still includes the best features from the brand.

2:01 #2 2021 Thor Motor Coach Sequence: thormotorcoach.com/sequence

Launched just over a year ago, the first Class B van from Thor Motor Coach is getting a few updates in 2021. Though it continues to be built on the Ram 3500 chassis, the Sequence is now offered in 3 floorplans, adding a 20A model with a cassette toilet and an optional pop-top roof with a bed.

3:21 #3 Roadtrek Zion SRT: roadtrek.com/models/zion-srt/

Established in 1980s, the Canadian Roadtrek exclusively specializes in building Class B motorhomes, based on Mercedes Sprinter and Ram ProMaster chassis. The Zion SRT is built on the latter one, so it derives power from a 3.6L V6 engine and has a 159 inches-long wheelbase.

4:36 #4 2020 Thor Motor Coach Tellaro: thormotorcoach.com/tellaro/

After a successful introduction of the Sequence RV, Thor Motor Coach expands its Class B range with a new Tellaro model. It is distinguished by more modern interior styling, that is performed in white and linen colors.

5:44 #5 Carado Banff: youtube.com/watch?v=btYHfhfxiZ8 – $83,000

Due to the financial troubles the enterprise was stopped in its tracks but its future might still be bright after Thor Motor Coach acquisition. So lets go back to reviewing their most versatile Banff model. It is offered in three chassis sizes.

6:56 #6 2020 Ogavans Rambler and Summit: ogavans.com/vansforsale / ogavans.com/rambler-with-storage

If you already own a Ram ProMaster van and would like to get it custom-converted to your specification, then the Maryland-based Off-Road Adventure Vans are the right people for you. The company offers several conversion packages for the model, out of which the most affordable ones are the Rambler and the Summit. Occasionally, the company also sells fully equipped road-ready Class Bs, that pack plenty of extras, like AC, heating, a toilet, an outside shower and additional solar panels. Such builds are priced around $80,000 with the 2019 Ram ProMaster included.

8:11 #7 Glampervan MUV: glampervan.us

Designed for the Pro-Master high-roof van with a short, 136-inch wheelbase, the Glampervan MUV turns this tried and tested model into a camper, a mobile office and a cargo hauler at the same time.

9:24 #8 Adria Twin: adria-mobil.com/vans/twin

Adria easily makes the most desirable RVs in the business in terms of price to quality comparison. One of such rare gems is the new generation of the Twin campervans.

10:35 #9 HYMER Free S: hymercar.com/dk/modeller/camper-vans/models-on-a-mercedes-benz-chassis/hymer-free-s/highlights.html

One of the main reasons to buy the HYMER Free S, apart from the German manufacturer’s reputation, is its donor van, which is the new front-wheel-drive Mercedes Sprinter.

You keep telling everyone it’s European. The Promaster is made in Mexico. It’s as European as tacos and tequila. Also the design is closer related to the Dodge Caravan than anything I’ve every seen from Europe.

Does a class B campervan require a class B driver’s license? Wondering why they class these campervans as class B since they are under 26,000 lbs?

Is there a studio type on any van, only equipped with electrical equipment system and water system and 4×4.

  13. trainergirl on March 4, 2021 at 11:05 pm

You can buy a decent and proper sized RV for less than the cost of these tiny little vans. Over $101,000? How many people do you think can afford that?

  14. Julio Chuy on March 4, 2021 at 11:05 pm

Lame, just a random dude reading the marketing materials.

  15. Steve P. on March 4, 2021 at 11:05 pm

The 1st one he brings up is over 100k, this is hardly affordable. I can buy a house and land for less.

Our freedom to travel in #Portugal without major restrictions is coming to an end. Starting 9th of January, there’s a new Law that prohibits overnight stays and parking in ALL places that are not designated for #Motorhomes or #Campervans (for the entire Portuguese territory).⁣
⁣We gathered all the information and created a public Post quite complete about the current situation of #motorhomes and #vanlife in #Portugal. So to understand the context of this publication, we advise you to read this Post carefully. The link is available on our Bio (https://www.instagram.com/travelinspirept/) or can be accessed at http://www.patreon.com/travelinspirept. (only in Portuguese sorry)⁣
⁣This is clearly the result of several situations that happened in the year 2020 and that the media insisted on emphasizing, often associating #motorhomes and #vanlifers to the pollution of the Alentejo and Algarve Coast.⁣
⁣For us who have been traveling full-time for two years in our #van that has been legalized and has all the conditions to be self-sufficient, this is a major attack on our freedom. Our lifestyle is compromised when this freedom of choice is taken away.⁣
⁣For those who follow us, mainly on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/travelinspirept), you know that we always practice and promote this way of life in a responsible and conscious way, always respecting space and nature, showing others how to do the same. This situation that is happening in Portugal, makes us deeply sad.⁣
⁣There are two petitions currently underway so that we can reverse or change the law. Everyone’s collaboration is very important and that is why we ask you to sign. Links to them are also available in our Bio.⁣ (https://www.instagram.com/travelinspirept/)
⁣Lastly we ask you to share this Post, it is very important for us, so that we can raise awareness of this problem.⁣
    Thank you so much.
    Stay safe!

Adria and Hymer S are the best out of the list. The Adria is my #1 pick! Would be a way better choice if it was priced at least $5,000 to $7,000 cheaper!!!

  21. Giulio Gemino on March 4, 2021 at 11:14 pm

This was it. 34900euro base + 13~14000euro 4×4 transmission optional
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6y0aptN8Jg&t=587s
It’s a shame American market is so damn hell empty of practical and affordable well made mass produced vans.
In the industry they still want to sell sort of a luxury dream filled with shits and giggles and turd enough to shine for a day…
but really it’s not the case… reality is that people diy istead buy because professionals offer no convenience in conversion. this is the sad truth about American market in this branch.

Are u able to customize the camper van? I would like only a large bathroom, triple water capacity and sleeper, while removing the kitchen and cabinets feature. Thanks for sharing.

  23. vicky agnew on March 4, 2021 at 11:19 pm

It’s hard to consider paying that kind of money on a depreciating asset. I can’t get my head around it.

  24. Cherry Garcia on March 4, 2021 at 11:20 pm

Which would you advise to buy ? already converted camper van or a camper van to be converted? Planning to buy in a couple of months. Thanks

  25. J. Dere on March 4, 2021 at 11:21 pm

I like the interior of the vans. But I would not put any money on Dodge/Ram products. The chasis is half of the investment. There products are cheap for a reason. Mechanically, they don’t hold out well. They are well known for breakdowns and repair.

  41. Meat Popsicle on March 4, 2021 at 11:33 pm

Please "Must See Tech" call it what it is……These are called Camper Vans not Class B Motor Homes. A Class B is more in line with a Realta or something larger then a standard cargo conversion VAN. Prices on these are outrageous.

  42. SewSewSewist on March 4, 2021 at 11:35 pm

Love all of these. How do u get a European model?

  43. Epicscore Eu on March 4, 2021 at 11:35 pm

I think it is wierd they are trying to sell them to low – end customers and still they bother putting a heavy as AC unit that makes the car more expensive to drive + you cant use it 99% of the time seens you don’t hock your van up to camping places seens it is made to camp in the wild..makes no fk senes..

  44. Sharon Mcqueen torres on March 4, 2021 at 11:39 pm

    100k is not cheap

  45. Amber T on March 4, 2021 at 11:40 pm

Title says campervans… click and hear "We will only list FULL SIZE and not camper vans"

  46. trainergirl on March 4, 2021 at 11:41 pm

Who on earth do you have narrating this video? I can’t decide whether it’s an electronic voice., or someone who can’t speak English very well. Which ever, it totally ruins any video you are producing because the voice is extremely irritating and I had to turn it off and watch in silence. It doesn’t say a lot for you if you can’t find someone to properly narrate. It looks like you’re doing it on the cheap

  47. Akash on March 4, 2021 at 11:42 pm

Thank you. Very useful info especially on price. I understood the minimum price available in the market is $100k+ . I like the Merc van $55k .
