When renting, you can put small holes in the walls with nails or screws, and not have to pay any extra money at the end of your lease. It is only if you do something like take a large chunk of plaster off, or put big holes in the wall (which would mean that the walls would have to be re-plastered after you move), that they can charge you extra. It should say that in your lease.
