Apartment Deck Makeover | Outdoor Oasis In The Trees | My Rental Reno S1 E6

Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel! I’m so excited to show you my rental deck transformation. We’re so lucky to have a beautiful deck in downtown Toronto and I wanted to make it feel like an outdoor living room. I show you how to create a cozy and comfortable outdoor oasis with a gorgeous herb garden, a dining area and lots of storage.

Well since I have herbs on my back covered deck (rains here a lot) then of course I approve of you doing that, too. ❤ Some will live forever if you take them in during the winter. My rosemary is six or seven years old. An the smell is marvelous!

  10. Leila Alihodzic on September 14, 2021 at 11:36 pm

1199$!!!!!! Sofa ,so is it possible for all of this to come out more than the housing rent 😐😐😐

  11. Olivia Everhart on September 14, 2021 at 11:37 pm

I love the way you present your videos. So many of the ones I have tried to watch keep the camera on themselves about 85% of the time. I didn’t click on the video to see their faces constantly. I clicked to see what they were attempting to accomplish with their space. I usually just click off. You are a breath of fresh air. You also have a lovely vision for the job you are doing. Keep up the great work.

Add a banana peel to the pot, cover it and the roses thrive so much with the potassium.

  13. Carmen2.0 on September 14, 2021 at 11:39 pm

the pot hanger idea is so good! thanks for sharing!

  14. Jessie Swanson on September 14, 2021 at 11:39 pm

What can I use for an herb garden that has to be on a concrete wall? What type of hooks or plant holders can I use?

  18. K ! on September 14, 2021 at 11:42 pm

bro the small cushion goes in the middle… bruh how

  19. Felicia Tang on September 14, 2021 at 11:43 pm

I love your cushion. Very outstanding when match with your black sofa.

  20. Laurie Mc on September 14, 2021 at 11:43 pm

The herb garden is a great idea. I don’t have a fence , but I do have an old wood ladder to use. Thank you so much for the idea.

Love the herb garden. My next DYI project. I think you’d like my feeding trough planter. It’s easy to grow lettuce, spring onions, spinach ect. In it. The barrel chair and table chairs come straight out of my grandma’s patio, in the sixties, but updated/refreshed for now. Really enjoyed this one. Thanks

I want to be your neighbor! Hi from Northern California! Been to Toronto and enjoyed it very much.

  26. Michael Whitmore on September 14, 2021 at 11:56 pm

I like how you do a ‘deck’ makeover by spending a bunch of money (or get others to donate), but you can’t even take the time to clean the deck and drive in some exposed screws.

  27. Mara Wheeler on September 14, 2021 at 11:57 pm

Roses….add banana peels and egg shells to you soil.. smash em up and put around roots under soil you ll be full of growth and blooms….enjoy

  28. Deborah Hoehn on September 14, 2021 at 11:58 pm

  29. Jaime Dale on September 14, 2021 at 11:59 pm

  30. Tracy Aulbrook on September 14, 2021 at 11:59 pm

    good job girl!

  31. Dal Cloud on September 15, 2021 at 12:00 am

Can relate. Is frustrating sometimes if we believe we are garbage because we can’t afford something. Plus spiraling deeper in those toxic thoughts is no picnic on the patio either. Remembering that we are where we are and doing what we can with what we have is important to maintaining safety and sanity.

  32. NapoHD on September 15, 2021 at 12:00 am

I got a lot of inspiration from this video, love it 😍. I’ve also filmed and uploaded a small balcony makeover video on my channel for anyone who’s interested.

  33. Jussara Fernandes on September 15, 2021 at 12:02 am

It is easy to makeover when you have money for it, or goons to ikea or whatever to buy those stuff…
I challenge you to do a makeover with no extra money at all, just with some paint, or build furniture and use the things that the person already have… I mean no buying new furniture, or rugs, whatever coasts a certain amount of money… get it?

  34. Gerry Wilson on September 15, 2021 at 12:02 am

Beautiful Patio and great job!!! My one tip would be the rose will probably not do well there. They need full sun. A better choice would be a big pot with ornamental grasses to block the view! 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿

  35. Dora Tiscareno on September 15, 2021 at 12:05 am

    LOOKS👀💗Beautiful

Add More HOOKS ON The FENCE …HANG A SUN HAT👒…And 👍

  36. Lacoux on September 15, 2021 at 12:07 am

    That sectional alone is $1199

  37. CreateWithConfidence on September 15, 2021 at 12:10 am

When I made over my large patio, I opted for a beautiful curved, comfortable outdoor sofa and a propane gas and glass modern fireplace that also serves as a table. I kept my older wrought iron dining set, glider and lounge chair. It is such a beautiful place and it makes me happy. I hope you enjoy your beautiful outdoor space.

It would be really helpful for viewers if you disclose the retail cost of items you include in a design — including the total cost for the entire design project at the end of the video. It would help viewers to know if a design is affordable for the viewer, or if not, which pieces should be replaced with less expensive versions.

  39. djUpRoar on September 15, 2021 at 12:12 am

FYI that smaller cushion on your sectional is for the middle of the sectional, that’s the way they’re designed. But great job! Looks awesome 👏

  40. JEM m on September 15, 2021 at 12:13 am

Love EVERYTHING you do!!! I love the herb garden wall but on the east coast, we do not have fences on our decks…everything is much more open!

  41. Anjela Joy on September 15, 2021 at 12:14 am

I’m wondering how well artical outdoor furniture would hold up in Florida weather??

  42. Diana Mccumbers on September 15, 2021 at 12:15 am

    Nice patio. Thanks for sharing.

  43. Lisa Stark on September 15, 2021 at 12:16 am

Sure would love to get some free furniture.

  44. Dawn J on September 15, 2021 at 12:16 am

This is beautiful but this is not you spending your own money nor is it budget friendly . This is a misleading video not cool at all .

  45. LT LT on September 15, 2021 at 12:18 am

This deck huge! And the reno is amazing! I’m sitting there enjoying a cool basil lemonade right now🍋😊! Love your designs!

  46. mael on September 15, 2021 at 12:18 am

everyone being like: this isn’t low budget.. this is her personal patio in her home and she decided to spend a bigger money on it, because it’s her home and she knows what she can afford and it’s worth it for her, yet she still showed it to us. she’s done lots of lower budget makeovers that you can look at. you can’t expect her to stick to your budget in her home. in my own home, I decided that there’s two areas where I won’t look at the price, and that’s floor and windows. my decision, and yes it wasn’t low budget, but it’s my home. she’s known for doing lots of makeovers with a really small budget, if she decides to go with a higher budget in her own home, that’s okay? and you could even take inspiration from the style she went for and look for things with a similar vibe from more budget friendly places like IKEA

Edit: I’m aware she didn’t pay for some if the stuff but really, would you say no to free good quality furniture if you were her?

  47. Aeri Heirsling on September 15, 2021 at 12:19 am

Ikea metal tray table, name?! Dunno, it is metal for like 19.99.

  48. Oke Osai on September 15, 2021 at 12:19 am

This is not affordable. Just an ad in my opinion

  49. Odalis Torresvivas on September 15, 2021 at 12:20 am

What do you do with the couch and cushions in the winter?

  50. E. E. on September 15, 2021 at 12:20 am

Looks great but all very expensive items. Could you do a more cost friendly makeover for us poor folk? 😅😉
