Those homes were mostly likely built in the 60’s and early 70’s with those ranch style homes. One thign the 80’s brought were earth colors. Light and dark brown everywhere. On the walls, wood, the doors, etc. Then the place was usually just dark all the time unless the lamps were lit. It just how was back then.

This would not have been considered average except for lower class homes but middle class homes in the 80s is how I grew up and there was a lot more happening. More furniture , less mess in the bedroom, actual bedroom set.

Y’all were ahead of your time 😂 I seen a lot of brown panels in homes growing up. Nice video it brings back memories

  4. Jane Dee on November 30, 2022 at 6:46 am

Do you have any more videos like 12:05 where you’re flipping through the radio stations in the 80s or 90s?

  5. JERRY DUHON on November 30, 2022 at 6:52 am

Half the people watching this video were alive in the eighties and the other half are people trying to figure out how accurate stranger things was

  10. port nut on November 30, 2022 at 6:57 am

Remember those days. Green carpet and lots of wood paneling….cheesy but better than the 70s. Orange yellow or green shag, more wood paneling wallpaper, orange ovens green fridges, floral curtains. The 50s…now that style is badazz Built in vinyl seats in the kitchen that sparkly stuff, appliances that would last 100 yrs…no microwaves that was 70s.TVs in the 80s were huge heavy console deals, us kids were the remote controls, no cordless phones, goofy intercom systems etc.
Id go back in time just to snag some beanbag chairs. Those stereo systems are making a big come back

  11. Zebure on November 30, 2022 at 6:57 am

I wish I was born during the 60s.

because then I could have experienced the rise of metal during the 70s, and later the Rise of gaming and anime during the 80s.

To also be able to live during the 90s and early 2000s with a lot of enjoyment, of which I die just before everything really went downhill.

33 years to the day. Pretty wild, I was a kid living in Baton Rouge at the time.

The phone with long cord, jambox, cassette tapes and holders, the retro computer, TVs, even the chairs around the kitchen table….all bring me back to my childhood. I was surprised to see 3 full baths in this size home, it looks to be around 1500 sf. Thank you for the throw back…loved the 80’s!

  17. Gabby Villarreal on November 30, 2022 at 7:06 am

From watching your videos, it seemed like it was pretty chill back then in the 80’s, just hang out, chill, eat, go to bed, go to school/work, then do it all over again😂

  18. Karami on November 30, 2022 at 7:08 am

I was born in ‘87 and there’s this one home video my brothers made of our house and yard in summer of ‘88. It seemed to me like our place was neater, less cluttered than today. 🤣 I still live in the same house, caring for my older parents. I’d blame Amazon for all the extra stuff we have today. 😝

  19. LivyFaith on November 30, 2022 at 7:08 am

Wish I lived in that time!

  20. Gmay84 on November 30, 2022 at 7:09 am

Coincidentally, a lot of this video was shot on my 4th birthday…Now I’m 37 and I live in a very similar house that was built in 1981. Was interested to see what houses like mine looked like inside when they were new as I was too young to remember much from back then and my current home has been renovated a lot since the 80’s. Interesting video, thanks for uploading it.

  21. VoidDweller on November 30, 2022 at 7:09 am

I know that I speak for a lot of people on here when I say that this really makes us want to go back to the 80’s.

  27. NaYe_nAyE on November 30, 2022 at 7:20 am

George Michael’s Faith! Damn that was a great year for me!

  29. Tim Gane on November 30, 2022 at 7:23 am

People attempting to recreate the 1980s aesthetic never truly realise just how goddamn _brown_ everything was back then

  31. Bobby Ricigliano on November 30, 2022 at 7:25 am

I was a junior in high school at this time. It looks like a typical Southern California neighborhood. Computers were very expensive then. I imagine all-in-one stereo systems with record player, 8-track player, and analog stereo dials seem odd now, but that is how we rolled back in those days. Thanks for sharing..

  32. LLAMA on November 30, 2022 at 7:26 am

This is so freaking beautiful to watch in 2022 especially to me who adores the 80s and american diners and stuff

  34. Karen Boromeo on November 30, 2022 at 7:30 am

I was 16 when this footage was done. I loathed the 80s style…but life was definitely more peaceful…happy…active….slower pace.
If go back to it now…though l thought the fashions were pretty boring even though l was a teenager lol
    Good music though.x

Man! I remember loving my scooter like the one at the 4:13 mark. Not as compact and lightweight as a razor but better for speed and longer distant rides in my opinion. I miss those days.

  42. James Steele on November 30, 2022 at 7:34 am

That was a great year for me. It was one of the top three best years of my life. And in general, people were so much more friendly and alive back then, before smart phones and the internet. Thanks for the trip back in time.

  43. Z on November 30, 2022 at 7:35 am
