Beginner Van Life Tips to Make Your Camper Van Experience More Enjoyable if Wild Camping

Beginner Van Life Tips to Make Your Camper Van Experience More Enjoyable if Wild Camping

10 pieces of advice including one HUGE tip.

How can you improve your wild camping experience?
How to find FREE parking for your Camper Van.
Here I discuss how you can improve your own experience and also that of others.

Find better places to stop, new places to park.
Things to consider when you are stealth camping off grid.

Increasing numbers of vanlife camper vans enjoying Staycations has seen an increase in wild camping and tourist areas being swamped with lots of vans.
Reports of vans being damaged and even owners being attacked, is not nice to hear. So what can you do to limit the risk of upsetting the locals?

I am running a FREE competition for 2 of you to win the latest book from Brit Stops. Helping you find free places to stay with the landowners permission

https://www.britstops.com

In the comments, write where you would like to go in the UK to stay first.

Please subscribe, like the video and share with your friends and other vanlifers.

The 2 winners will be drawn from the comments, at random which I will video live on 10th October 2022 (Draw now closed)
I will confirm time in a community post closer to the date.

This is a fantastic book with detailed information on the stopping places and well worth the small price for you to buy if you do not win one of the two available.

This is not sponsored and I do not have an affiliate link with Britstops, I just want to share the great book and stopping places they have.

Whether you have a T5, VW T5.1, T6, T6.1 or even an older T2, T2.5, T4, the VW Vanlife scene is amazing, with so much help and assistance available for whatever project you wish to attempt. Panel van, Kombi, Converted Camper or VW California Beach or Ocean, enjoy the freedom van life brings.

The @Staycation Lifestyle van conversion is coming along nicely.

I bought a Stealth VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate.

Slowly turning it into a stealth camper van / day van with bed. I will also need something for cooking, cooling, sleeping, drinking ?? Choices to be made.

I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV’s on headrests.

Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.

Please do let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
Vanlife for me is just beginning, it’s a great adventure and I’m loving it. ๐Ÿ˜

Great video. This book looks perfect for when I eventually take delivery of my van. It’s now been 16 months since I placed my order with vw. I’d be happy to travel anywhere once I’m a man with a van.

  8. Cosmo Smallpiece on August 10, 2023 at 4:24 pm

Two more:- 1. Park in a way you can easily drive away, maybe reverse in or turn around, ready to go. 2. Leave the place even cleaner than you found it, if someone else has left litter, you may get the blame, so take it with you.

The van parked on double yellows might have been a blue badge holder and disabled and maybe just needed to rest. Iโ€™m a blue badge owner myself and have had comments from public because Iโ€™m in a camper and on double yellows. Was in Whitby a few weeks back and a couple went out of their way to walk over to say something to me, I wasnโ€™t camping just had my side door open looking at the view with my 2 Jack Russell and was day time. I heard them talking as they came over saying how disgusting it was me being parked there then they looked at the front window and must have seen the badge, as they scuttled away disappointed they couldnโ€™t virtue signal at me I heard them chuntering โ€œwell maybe he can park there, but you just wouldnโ€™t though would youโ€. Some people are just that way out over anything and want to have the moral high ground over you.

  18. mark smith on August 10, 2023 at 4:36 pm

I live in rural area , itโ€™s not camping vans causing any problems they usually park up and use the pub inc canal boaters . Itโ€™s was mostly car day trippers leaving bbq and crap everywhere and drive off .
Iโ€™m not a camper type but can see the appeal my wife pushing to get a van tho .

  19. Violet on August 10, 2023 at 4:39 pm

Lots of good advice. Collecting our first van early November. Book looks brilliant, we would more than likely head somewhere in North Wales for our first few stop overs ๐Ÿ˜Š

Great content ๐Ÿ˜Š. Iโ€™m really on the fence about buying a t6.1 new van, the fact itโ€™s diesel and I live in central London even in my commercial van which is a euro 6 . 17 plate is much more expensive to park than a petrol van ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  25. Simon Middleton on August 10, 2023 at 4:49 pm

Some great tips here and thanks for the book idea, I saw the app too. Just put down deposit on a new T6.1 campervan which is due in November/December. Our first destination given the time of year is going to be relatively local Ivinghoe Beacon with georgeous views over the Chilterns and surrounding area.

If local don’t like it .jog on .I ain’t making noise or mess just enjoying life
