Isn’t it great?!?! That in America, most of the free camping areas are in the desserts and other inhospitable places?
If it’s a nice place with clean water and beautiful views, you can bet someone is going to be charging for it!

  3. SammySamSam on July 28, 2021 at 9:24 pm

What would anyone recommend for a kinda colder fresh feel camping spot, closer to Fresno?

  4. P Q on July 28, 2021 at 9:24 pm

Subbed! Why didn’t I discover your channel sooner?

  5. R.S S.R on July 28, 2021 at 9:26 pm

I love California! And all nice spots to camp 🏕 and be free! But please, please, please don’t destroy this places! Take all your trash with you! Even your 💩 shirt! There’s bags for that! 👍🏽

  6. Antonio Tellez on July 28, 2021 at 9:28 pm

So basically anywhere in the middle of the desert?

  7. JOSHaka OGER on July 28, 2021 at 9:28 pm

Last one sounds nice new to this and actually have a car now that can make it placed 🤘 for these free ones do I need anything or to sign up someplace or?🤷🤔

As a resident of Bishop, CA I live out of my van and am constantly picking up broken glass, bullet casings, toilet paper, dog poop, and a lot of trash on the BLM land out here. From Alabama hills(not too bad) up to the Glass Creek area please be respectful and clean up after yourselves. The Glass Creek area has trash all over it by the end of summer. A lot of it comes from the ATV crowd(most are good people… but as always there are a few bad apples that ruin it). Also please don’t be afraid to help pick up other people’s trash to help out. This is the most amazing place on earth out here so let’s keep it that way.🙏🏽

What about any current travel restrictions in CA, especially from out of state?

Well done! Very helpful when planning a trip to these places and can see why these camping locations made the list. Had the opportunity to visit the June Lake area in the Eastern Sierras for the first time in January. Already talking about going back! After watching this, would like to check out Keysville. Thanks for sharing! 👍

  14. Christopher Hazlett on July 28, 2021 at 9:38 pm

Anza-Borrego is a great place. The reason I haven’t tried anywhere else is the rules aren’t always the best/easy to figure out or it’s crowded. Anza-Borrego is so expanse it’s possible to get away or be in an area with other people. And the rules are super easy to follow

A very informative vid. I live in the Central Coast and r.v. camping is expensive and booked. Travel within California and the price of fuel is also a factor. Thanks for sharing free camping when many others don’t.

  27. Tony on July 28, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Next time include RV in your title, most of the places you mentioned were deserts with no cover or trees.

  28. Steve Guard on July 28, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Glass Creek was the farthest north on this list by a country mile. Is Campendium based in LA and/or focused on southern CA camping?

  39. Land Elevated on July 28, 2021 at 10:04 pm

I do pick up other’s trash. Even in my home neighborhood. Some don’t appreciate the gift of beauty that the natural world offers us every day.

  41. Luciano Serrudo on July 28, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Enjoyed the video. The Sierra is already plural. Try not to say "The Sierras."

  44. Marietta Warkentin on July 28, 2021 at 10:11 pm

Had downloaded “Campendium” on my phone last fall, so excited to watch this!

  45. mikecowboy gilbert on July 28, 2021 at 10:12 pm

Alabama hills camping 27 years ago Awesome

  46. Burt Reynolds on July 28, 2021 at 10:12 pm

If you live anywhere near where people live you’ll have to drive out 3+ hours to get to these areas. I’ll stay at my state parks with showers and a flush toilet. A lot of these blm/boondocking areas are super sketchy. Been to several of these areas on this list and didn’t feel safe at night. You can here gun shots all through out the day and night. It’s can be a wild Wild West out there. You’ll face a few odd characters that give you chills.

  47. Ryan Travis on July 28, 2021 at 10:13 pm

What does BLM mean in regards to camping?

  48. Rayge 808 on July 28, 2021 at 10:13 pm

It won’t be called camping soon!

  49. Jay Morris on July 28, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Really, it’s bad enough with crowds now you gotta blab the last few secrets of camping. You watch, won’t be long b4 they start charging because of too many people!!
