BEST Van Life Camping: $25 DOLLARS a MONTH RENT While Living in a Van
BEST Van Life Camping: $25 DOLLARS a MONTH RENT While Living in a Van
Live REALLY CHEAP by staying in a LTVA with cheap rent!
A multi month permit is good at any BLM LTVA for 7 MONTHS (Oct-April in Quartzsite) is ONLY $180, which breaks down to just $25.71 PER MONTH!
You can stay or move between LTVA’s as you wish with this pass. You can work, build up your savings and then go travel the rest of the year! The BLM has LTVA’s – Long Term Visitor Areas that are a major destination for RV camping. These camping areas hold thousands of RVs each year, the most popular are near Quartzsite, and Yuma Arizona. The cost for these LTVA’s is based on length of stay requested. We are living in a low wage-high rent nation! However, you can still live your best life by living in your vehicle!

How do you keep your camp if you have to move your RV to either go to town or to the dump? I’m afraid I’ll come back and find it taken.
What if I have a composting toilet, do I still have to park close to a bathroom?
Hi Bob, I would love to do this but at the moment I have 4 people in my home that could not live this way when I am able to live alone I will be there. I am looking forward to retirement and Arizona is were I want to move to. I look forward to meeting you. I will be 54 in march. Retirement is taking to long LOL. Please keep doing what you are doing. You have giving me lots of info to think about when I retire. Take care and God Bless. Say hi to Dee for me. My name is Leeann but I go by Lee. Thanks again..
How is the internet services out in those parks? Towers available?
I would love this! I work remotely, how is the signal out there? Thank you for sharing these kinds of options. I had never heard of LTVA before. I dug myself into a pretty decent debt hole in my 20s so this has the potential of helping me get out of that pitfall.
Thank you Bob! I have a question. If you leave to go get supplies how do you keep your spot??
I’m curious what people do for health insurance. Tha would be my largest concern.
What about a portable toilet? Is that ok ?
This is definitely something I am interested in – once I get a van
Hate the desert any forest or water areas
From a frozen Alaskan. Thank you very much for what you do. I’m so looking forward to living this lifestyle.
Guess where me and my guy are spending next winter? This is AWESOME!!
Thank you! I love this show and I will retire soon!!!
This is amazing! Just what I’ve been looking for as an option. Thank you Bob for making this video❤
can you renew every 7 months or do you have to leave for an extended amount of time.
You do such a great service and that is very cheap.. 7 months wow ❤
Sounds good!
Looks kinda desolate for a guy who has lived around the Great Lakes all his life. That’s a sort of personal preference (not a criticism.)
Thank’s for this!
I could Absolutely afford to do this and would LOVE to
Great information. I like to boondock but am thinking of coming to Quartzsite the winter of 2024 when I plan on officially retiring. I’m sure I can’t just sit around all day so finding a part time job maybe on the list. I’m self contained but was wondering if anyone can put me in the right direction on what solar power to go with. My camper has a small solar panel that’s supposed to keep the battery charged to run my refrigerator but to run anything else I have to use the generator. Suggestions?
Yes
Are there any of these camp/Boondocking places around Phoenix?
That is incredible I had no idea. Omg. I have friends who live in Yuma. Good to know about the 500 ft rule. Yes I would totally do that.
just asking there’s something like that in Florida please let me know
The sign says you need a permanent 10 gallon holding tank. Do most vans have that? I know my campervan doesn’t.
I want to spend my winters here!
This gotta be one of my favorite channels on YouTube!!!! As a veteran sometimes getting away from everything feels just right. I’m still undecided about making the move..I hope one day soon- I make the move! Thank you for the information.
beautiful ? …lol , but cheap yes, you get what you pay for. cheers.
I’m intrested in those places what’s the name the one in yuma
I would love to live this way but have obstacles
I wish there were LTVA’s in Colorado
For $10, get an America the Beautiful federal pass for most all federal lands. Must be disabled. Passes for elderly, veterans, families, etc.
Many banks require a physical address, how do I manage that?
The LTVA locations around Quartzite are great. I haven’t gone to the others. These are good options for RV’ers, in the 5-6 cooler months in NA …I cannot imagine staying there in the summer without an AC although I do know many make it work for themselves.
I am not a full-timer by choice but when I do camp, I really prefer dry camping and do love Quartzite.
Great episode.
What about a couple months ?
I actually prefer full hook up sites in my class C. Electric, water and sewer make a huge difference in how comfortable it can be to live in a motor home. If you want to stay some place real cheap, most casinos offer free overnight parking. And they also have on site restaurants, bars and other amenities. Some people with Planet fitness memberships have found that you can overnight camp in their parking lot for free, plus get in a free workout and shower because they have a membership. There are lots of options. Thanks for pointing out this one.
this changes everything
Do they have high speed internet? I am guessing no but that would be awesome if they did..I work remotely online with a headset etc
Great video! I had no idea and this helps me with information about more options because I’d prefer a safe legal open place to camp.
If i ever get to this point as i am retired. Yes i would do it ..
Is there any water ways , lakes, rivers nearby? Are there any Churches near?
Bob helped me leave Minnesota. It is scary packing n leaving. I packed way too much stuff. I left at the end of November on my way to Quartzsite. I stayed at a New Mexico Campground boondocking and my Chinese heater quit working so I got a camp spot with electricity and water. You can’t beat this. Less than 150 bucks a month. Picnic table, covered, water, trash, showers, but everything has limits.
Excellent video
Inspiring thanks
What kind of work is there for a 61 year old female who has worked in a bait and tackle shop for last 8 years??
what if we dont want to be in the desert??
We’re new to this. We have a class A. Don’t know if I missed what you said.. how would we replenish our water ?
I want it but I live in a van and work in a bay area
Yep, I would love to live there for $25 a month. Thanks for explaining about the self contained vehicles and the options for mini vans also.
