You know, I’ve never used those camp stoves before. I was always afraid of the gas, so just found a way to put a big metal rack over the fire and use it like a grill.

Great video. My son just turned 15. My first experience camping out was when my son was 10. I thought I had it all figured out. It’s like if I saw your video and took your advise. Only thing is that one has to live it to know it. The night was freezing cold. I was trying to sleep but the cold kept me up all night. That night I could just imagen how cold my 5 year old girl, my wife, and my son were. First thing in the morning my wife said to me, never again. I learned from my mistakes and perchases better tent, sleeping bags, and other things here and there. Up to this day I still get things that I know will add to our comfort of camping out. But one thing for sure is that we will never forget our first camping trip🤣

Not a terrible video. I wouldn’t recommend a first time camper spending money on and bring a shovel for the fire. A stick does fine. You don’t need to bring a big bag of charcoal either. And camp meals can be simple. Just plan ahead, make them at home and freeze them. You don’t have to settle for hot dogs.
For first timers bring those instant Nescafe single cup pouches for your coffee.

I don’t like camping and rather sleep in my small Mazda 3 hatchback than in a tent. Still watched this and enjoyed the video.

Maybe add a part about cooking clean up. It can be very simple, but very important to do properly, especially in bear country. Where to store your food is important, too. Also, where and how to properly do and dispose of “bathroom business” if facilities are not available. Some states have laws regarding both of these things. Great video.

cowboy coffee? how do you filter the grounds? I have the percolator coffee maker, your way looks easier and tastier.

My suggestion is shop thrift store and yard sells. I would camp in the backyard first.

i went camping with half of those stuff.. since we had to hike for an hour and half

  36. Maynard Bechtel on October 7, 2021 at 9:06 am

I would never buy a vinyl blow-up mattress again. The vinyl really off-gases a lot. Also would not use the blue stuff for your porta potty. Also a very strong oder. The point about being in nature is breathing clean natural smelling country air not being in a bubble breathing in toxins.

    Thanks
for all the effort you put in your videos. I’m sure so many people have learned
things from you. Keep up the good work <3

  38. Blue Skeleton on October 7, 2021 at 9:11 am

Hey that is great for someone to explain first stepping stones to camping. Remember to not litter, leave your site better than before! Pack it in.. pack it out. Keep your foods and pantry in vehicles, animals will visit and rummage thru your stuff if left open on table or in tent.. you dont want that. Also pack for foul Weather even though it’s nice, it can get worse when in the woods. Best of all, buy yourself a boy scout handbook to guide you further into other outdoor activities. No such thing as bad Weather, its bad gear.
