I agree with Joanne. Collections can look amazing, but can get overdone. Remember that anything can be art. Your kids toys, their violins when not playing them, pretty wrapping paper, paper bags, scrap book paper all can be used as mats. To make your collection modern and new add misc items to the grouping. Use some of your old wood from the barn and make shelves. You have wonder landโ€”go out and take pictures, your little red cabin would make a great picture in an old frame. I find unique items on clearance sales, goodwill always has ugly artwork but if i like the frame i buy it. Just more ideas for you. Enjoy and have fun!

  10. Monique on October 27, 2021 at 10:23 am

Can you do a video of how to hang the china plates?

  11. DENISE JONES on October 27, 2021 at 10:24 am

Hint: Never let your tall husband hang pictures. They put them at their eye level which is too high. If they are going to hang them, you need to mark the wall where it is to go. Many people hang their wall decorations too high. I feel the picture and plate in the kitchen are a tad too high, you may be able to add something below the picture to balance it on the wall.

I saw that Miss Mustard Seed (and I’m sure many others) has a few video tutorials for oil paintings. You are so talented, I’m sure you could create your own oil paintings for a fraction of the price!

Years ago, I paired prints from a botanical calendar with inexpensive frames from Woolworth’s (the 5 and 10 cents store) and hung a set on a kitchen wall. I still have and love them. They’ve aged with time and look really vintage now.

  23. Veronica Connell on October 27, 2021 at 10:37 am

I have blue and white China that I purchased years ago from an antique store. I have a lot of it. I do use it on the holidays but I have enough left over with my purchase to also make into wall art. Iโ€™ve resisted doing this because Iโ€™m not sure that of the best method to hang these pieces. Iโ€™ve seen a lot of different methods. Plate holders for the walls can get very expensive. But Iโ€™ve also seen people use the command strips and I donโ€™t know if I trust those. What is your favorite method?

Hydrangeas are nice b/c you can change their flower colors by amending the soil. And also use them in your home decor! Don’t forget to check out companion planting. [Daniel has your pretty eyes!!!!] https://www.countryliving.com/gardening/news/g4188/companion-planting/

I love watching your home coming together and your ideas. My house has so much wall art ( my mother in law is a beautiful artist, sadly she cant paint now). Therefore my walls are full of her paintings- so much that my daughter complains there are no clear walls!. Enjoy

Loved these ideas! I’ve lived for so long renting and never bothered to hang much up. We’re hoping to buy in the upcoming months (depending on how current global issues pan out) and I’m so excited to finally decorate. I actually have started a collection of old frames but they are sitting in my closet.

The blueberry picture made me think
Some of your beautiful food pictures and if you have pictures of the old bArns and cottages when complete or even work in progress would be beautiful as well to print off yourself if your savvy with that type of photograph and printing stuff, which im sure you are! ( im very new to to your channel ) everything looks so perfect, and you make all the hard work look easy. I wish i had a you in my life. !! Your amazing!
i have 5 kids under 9 and my house looks like a bomb hit it . My husband unexpectedly died 1.5 years ago and I’ve been pretty depressed since "recocering" from initial shock? 4 months in? 60+ more years to go without him seems unbearable. But hey. GODS WILL BE DONEโ™ก
