Cheap rear lounge campervan from Clever Vans
Cheap rear lounge campervan from Clever Vans
This cheap rear lounge campervan is made by Clever Vans and is designed to carry a bike. That is one bike. It is an unusual look, thinking outside the box – what do you think?
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my YouTube channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Dreamer, Itineo, Rapido, Clever Vans, PΓΆssl, BΓΌrstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Karmann Mobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Bocklet, Woelcke,Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Murvi, Bliss, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile BΓΌrow, Holzmobil, Giotti Line, Florium, Fleurette, Ahorn, Westfalia, Space Camper, Orange Work, Concorde, Womondo, Protec, Auto Sleeper, Dethleffs, Ilusion, Gehocab, Malibu, Pilote, Wild Ax, Vantage, Bresler, Tom’s Fahrzeugtechnik, Morelo, Swift, Carado and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

If the interior of the van (lounge) weren’t so extremely ugly, it actually could work. Those manufacturers really have to invest in people with taste who can take care of "home decoration".
Someone may like it, but not me personally. I’m yet to see that Hymer concept car become a retail product.
Horrible viewing from inside. But nice otherwise.
love this one Allen i think it’s great id buy this one tomorrow its horses for courses i just love it.ππ
Great to see something different, but looks like a little more development needed….. Scrap the bike storage (not that usable for other objects really) and extend the lounge backward so its more spacious and less upright…. Make that table move much more, making access and general space better. While we’re at it add kitchen worktop flaps…. and is there enough room for the driving seat to go back for the taller driver? Washroom looked great though!
This is essentially the same van as the Clevervans City from a couple of years ago that I commented on a couple of days ago (except of course, this one is β¬15,000 more expensive…).
Is the "bike" space permanent or can it be made into part of the bed? If permanent I think the "City" makes more sense. I do like the idea of moving the toilet forward, the lighter interior decorating, and the windows in the lounge/sleeping area.
Alan, did you see the other 5.4m Clever van with a new layout split extendable bed that leaves space for a 2 person dinette? ……… Looked a better bet but with some misgivings rather as my comments previously below…….. Thanks for seeking out these products and tirelessly showcasing them.
Bunkervan have a much better rear lounge layout. The Clever Sunny 540 2022 is the best and cost only 29999β¬.
My first love is the Avanti plus H … the storage from above and underfloor AND MASSIVE storage can not be beat with a full rear trunk area for outdoor storage tools and utility equipment …
No storage. 4 belted seats but only two berths. The toilet position was interesting but I’ve seen better traditional rear salon layouts.
Personally I prefer a fixed bed over garage and a the front seating area convert into two berths ( or a roof tent)
Just lovely!
It’s got everything you need for a day van and an emergency stop over if the road is shut. I’d take the bike out and put a pop up 32inch tv in its place
Good for them for doing something different. Perhaps best for a solo traveller who likes to cycle then have a good long sit.
Iβm not keen on making up beds from seat cushions as over time you get uneven wear. Invariably people buy mattress toppers to even out the joins and you then have to keep that somewhere when the bed isnβt in use. I remember renting a camper where the bed was made of seat cushions and I had to use our old camping air bed on top every night otherwise it was far too uncomfortable to sleep.
Thanks Alan, if one were to buy a new 540 van in 2022, what models would you suggest considering?
Video was fine… that layout looked… err ‘specific’ I think you would need to find the right person or closely coupled couple to manage with that. I personally hated it.
I like the interior. Very nice to the eyes. Of kourse, a little test drive and to get familiar with this chariot would be a pleasure. And the only thing missing in this beauty is me! π»
I applaud the fact that they’ve tried ‘something different’ but I don’t see it as ‘something better’. Not one I’d consider.
I suggest you get a second-hand small motorhome instead.
This would be far more practical with an extended Van … which would give more kitchens room and by moving the bathroom TO a further rear position … SIMILAR to the Avanti h Plus IDEA… frees up for a drop down over THE CAN bed…
Where’s the storage ? as in wardrobe
I love a rear lounge but not this one. Don’t like it at all.
This’d me fav layout.
