Goddamn american homes are a fcking hazard

  2. Daniel Ramos on September 24, 2023 at 2:51 pm

When I was house shopping I checked out a DR Horton community, I saw empty beer cans in a house that was still under construction. I glad I looked else where.

  3. Jonathan on September 24, 2023 at 2:52 pm

Lennar and KB homes can be added to the list

  4. Kar Kule on September 24, 2023 at 2:53 pm

Y’all can buy and I’ll rent. First sign of problems and I’m gone.

  5. Anne M. Parent on September 24, 2023 at 2:55 pm

They can tear down the original that is not to code and rebuild it to code. It would be cheaper and take less time. The family should be compensated by the contractor like pay for a rent for the family while waiting for the newly constructed home to be completed. That is one way to fix this. Buyer beware!

  6. spiritus canus on September 24, 2023 at 3:00 pm

How could it be the builder’s fault if they built according to code?

  7. James Buckingham on September 24, 2023 at 3:02 pm

And that’s exactly why I’ve never owned a home; I’d rather pay rent than lawyers and home repairs. I can pack up and walk away, not my problem.

You moved to the swamp. The swamp is just showing its love. Welcome to LA

    About time.

  10. Austin Maxson on September 24, 2023 at 3:08 pm

One of the worst decisions I ever made was buying a home from them. I had over two pages of items for them to fix when I moved in and within a couple years I had water coming in the windows, roof leaking, water leaking downstairs from the tub upstairs, electrical problems all over the house, etc. I don’t understand how they can be so poorly built. They always have excuses and takes forever for them to do anything. I will never go through that again and so glad to get rid of that house.

  11. Doug Cox on September 24, 2023 at 3:08 pm

Track home builders are a plague in the building industry.

  12. RIck inLaughlin on September 24, 2023 at 3:09 pm

who will ever take another of their builds

  13. Brandon on September 24, 2023 at 3:10 pm

Don’t buy low quality new build houses. They’re junk. They’re Walmart houses. Buy a quality small home instead of these huge liability cookie cutter low quality homes.

  14. Michael on September 24, 2023 at 3:11 pm

What happened to the State contractor licensing board . They are
Responsible for regulating the construction industry. 4:26

  15. krazymotomines on September 24, 2023 at 3:11 pm

That recording is a lie. The building code is a minimum requirement of standards they need to build. They can opt to build above those standards especially if there is a known problem (i.e. humidity).

  16. Jason mamedov on September 24, 2023 at 3:12 pm

They don’t know how to build in this country…

  17. Barbara Hering on September 24, 2023 at 3:14 pm

Really bad install , the people they hire obviously don’t know what they are doing. Was the work ever inspected?

  18. mssn316 on September 24, 2023 at 3:14 pm

This is a nightmare. How could they easily get away with it

  19. Flowrider Guru on September 24, 2023 at 3:16 pm

In Florida they put termite infested cabinets in peoples brand new home kitchens.

  20. Nate's Manufactured Home Tours on September 24, 2023 at 3:16 pm

Seems to me common sense says don’t put the A/C uinit in the attic. They ALWAYS produce condensation and will ALWAYS have water dripping off them if used. You will find most HVAC people will tell you the same thing. Unit should be outside on a concrete pad. As for the windows leaking, they need to tear off siding and install the proper flashing above and below the windows and then re-side the house. Might even have to go as far as into the walls to get the proper flashing and sealing done above and below the window that is normally done when it just the framing of the home and outside OSB or ZIP or what ever other material is used.

  21. Patty Robarbe on September 24, 2023 at 3:17 pm

We have a Dr Horton home since 2009 brand new. There were a few things that weren’t perfect… but so far we’ve been ok. But yeah, the windows are bad. You can feel the wind and hear every noise. Thankfully when it’s been super windy, they’ve been strong enough. 14 years later we’re still here and the house is still strong!

  22. gemstone 7 on September 24, 2023 at 3:17 pm

Houses are built so fast with the cheapest materials, its a joke the prices people pay for new homes that are worthless! Just like most other things, everything made now days are made so crappy!

  23. Terence on September 24, 2023 at 3:21 pm

DR Horton homes in the Chicago area are complete garbage in my opinion. The homes literally look like two story trailers or a box with siding.

  24. John Smith on September 24, 2023 at 3:21 pm

I dont fully blame contractors for this. I mean, these kind of problems have become massive all around the world.
So a lot of blame should land on the buyer.
Unless ofcource if you bought and paid for the house before it was constructed!

  25. Barbara Hering on September 24, 2023 at 3:21 pm

That phone call is going to be a nail in D.R. Horton coffin. Florida has their homes and we have tons of humidity.

  28. critter on September 24, 2023 at 3:23 pm

why can’t normal sized affordable homes be built? Why do they have to be these cheaply made faux luxury oversized ugly ticky tacky box homes? idk if you’re paying good money for a house like this… idk I don’t feel too bad.

  29. Franckie Mena on September 24, 2023 at 3:23 pm

I used ro work for BELL….those guys are pathetic.

  30. cecilia preziose on September 24, 2023 at 3:23 pm

these people use to send me ads all the time to reserve a home…………….they smelled out loud

  31. Brian Willess on September 24, 2023 at 3:24 pm

Water pouring out electrical receptacles has nothing to do with a humidity climate. Its poor craftsmanship, and poor supervision.

  32. Syna on September 24, 2023 at 3:25 pm

What I do not understand is how the city inspectors allow this builder to continue building lousy homes?
Don’t the building and safety inspectors that inspect those homes before they can move on to the next step say anything or mark them so whatever issue can be fixed??
I just can not understand that.
If this builder is still building lousy homes then that says it all..
Does anyone know if this builder is still building and has changed their ways??

  33. Dan on September 24, 2023 at 3:26 pm

DR Horton uses literal cardboard sheething in some states.

  34. Michael Waldmeier on September 24, 2023 at 3:26 pm

  35. Tim Nobody on September 24, 2023 at 3:31 pm

Low bid builders will cost you in the long run.

  36. Enrique Gonzalez on September 24, 2023 at 3:31 pm

They’re gonna build 2400 of these houses in Brunswick, GA soon…not looking forward to it

  37. Raymond Mesa on September 24, 2023 at 3:32 pm

Basicly not there problem what garbage

  38. Gavin Newscum on September 24, 2023 at 3:32 pm

What do you expect from a tract home builder. They generally hire unskilled laborers who barely speak English, build to the bare minimum standards and use the cheapest materials available while charging top dollar. Most of the framers can’t read the plans and hope the drywall guy will cover their mistakes.

  39. cecilia preziose on September 24, 2023 at 3:35 pm

    banks don’t send an inspector?

    ALWAYS hire an inspector!

  42. Juan Ramos. Jr. on September 24, 2023 at 3:38 pm

Each city has its own building code. The state authorizes the building code , but local officials make amendments for conditions that they live in. For example, the building code for el paso tx, will be totally different in corpus christi! Yet they are in the same state

  43. Anup Patel on September 24, 2023 at 3:40 pm

I think they are getting away with only one year warranty crap. Real problem start after one year.

  46. Tuan Tran on September 24, 2023 at 3:45 pm

We bought a new home from this builder. After four years later, there was a water leak from one of the windows. We hired at least four inspectors to check for leak. Three of them told us that the roofing company did not put the shingle starter strip on. They added that the leak actually goes under the strip edge and got behind the wall into the window.
A few months later, there was a problem with the AC. The AC technicians came to check for the leak of the refrigerant and what they found was the contractor previously built the aluminum tube on copper tube.
There have been many things go wrong with this house, and many of them we manage to fix with our DIY. We could not believe that this home is only four years old and there have been many things need to be repaired. We already paid 20 grands for the roof and the AC repair so far.
Is there a way we can create a petition and have owners to sign for it in order we can sue this builder?

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family…

I feel like any business with the name Horton in it. They are just horrible businesses.
Tim Hortons rejected a driver thru customer ordering coffee for a homeless person. Now this construction DR Horton is effing up people as well.
