I love your information, this is going to be a long message, hoping you will give me advise: I am in the process of redecorating a 1968 Ranch style home I bought last year, that was stuck in the 60"s. The home is some what of an open concept so I have to be very careful in combining the kitchen, dinning, hall way, 3 season sunroom, and livingroom area colors. The kitchen and dinning is in the center of the home, the livingroom faces west in front of the house, and is the full length of the kitchen and dinning area. I put black cortz counter tops in the kitchen, I painted pure black under the chair rail, and above the the cabinets, walls and ceiling is bright white, to include the back splash tile, my dinning chairs are black, with black leather seats, the table legs are black, the top matches the color of the cabinets, which is that 1960’s wood color gold redish orangeish maple wood, I hung high end bamboo grommet top curtains on the sliding glass door going to the sunroom, that has the goldish redish brown colors lined in bright white facing the sunroom, the same curtains above the sink window, I painted the walls in the sunroom black, everything else white, I bought brownish red carpet, and leather couch, love seat, chair, the two colors match perfect, and goes well with the colors in the bamboo curtains. I bought a beautiful old fireplace mantel that matches the wood and style in the house, with a black fireplace, that will go on the south wall so it can be seen in the kitchen/dinning area, and for Feng Shui, I am think of painting the mantle black, with black tile surround to combine the dinning/kitchen colors into the livingroom and entry area. I am confused if I should paint the rest in all bright white, or if I should add an additional color to the living room and hall way walls, or if it would be to much to add another color to those walls. I am leaning towards the bright white, the style I am going for is a modern rustic, as I do have some older pieces of side tables, and a full wall entertainment center that separates the kitchen and living room that is cherry red with glass shelves. I am sorry this is so long, but I am hoping you would put your advice into my delima of painting the rest of the walls a bright white, or adding more color to the walls, I am wanting to make the home warm, yet have a modern rustic bright happy energized feel to it.

I have a house that is not an open space style. They all have a small area like a maze.. Wanna use sage green cuz my husband refuses white adamantly.. Im scared that it will make my space looks much smaller.. 😥

I’ve decided of a style concept (the 50’s,) and therefore picked 3 very light pastel colors for the whole house (without looking at trends.)
Totally love the end result, which is trendier than i thought!
(3 bedrooms upstairs are pastel green, halls are pastel pink on both floors, main floor is light aqua (bluish green).
Those colors are enhancing the wooden floors and furniture. Sofa being reupholstered honey leather. New lamps are brass, chrome (to go with the retro refrigerator.)
Now i’m stock without helpers for the fun part of installing everything, after spending too much in repairs…
These are all so boring and safe : / Would be nice to have a more challenging list too

I have golden TV area in my house which colour would complement well with gold

We moved into a home with walnut trim around windows/walls – my husband fell in love with them and I’ve been told "not to touch them" with any paint. I’d love to do green in the family/living area but the room seems so dark to me that I’m afraid that a grey’d green will only feel sad – but my favorite color is green – which shade of green would work with a room that doesn’t get much light and is paired with dark wood?
Blue tones are my all time favourite , love u blue (especially the bluish grey one 😍)
