I love the layer rug look!
I painted my ceilings in my tiny house black. The ceilings are only 9 feet n the house is only 480 sq feet. It was amazing how much better it looked with black ceilings. They totally receded. Looked very crisp . it sounds like a crazy idea but consider it. U will be pleasantly suprised
What is a good way to style your home but still make it toddler friendly. I love home decor but it is hard when my toddler insists on moving or touching anything under four feet tall.

When u try the paint sample buy a few large tag boards. Otherwise the previous paint color will affect how u see the new color. I usually paint a tag board piece n put 1 piece on each wall for each color. Its amazing how much different lighting alters the paint color.

I spray paint a rug on the floor to anchor the furniture and attach posters to back of my furniture.
Get a professional painter and make sure to get references. I was very lucky to find a magnificent one.. it pays to spend a little extra money for more quality paints..
About testing the colour on your wall… a brush changes the texture of the wall and depending on the colour, it can show through so you end up wit a spotty wall
I WOULD have a cohesive color pallet if my roommate would stop picking new furniture or paint that are random colors🙃
Have a living room and dining room combination how do I pick rugs for both areas, my dining room table is round but the rug in my living room would be rectangle, any help would be greatly appreciated. I like the white, beige and grey look…and everything at IKEA…

I have very bright orange walls what colour sofa do I get
I get a sample can of paint at the same time as the gallon. I get the little container for touch ups later on. Personally, I avoid dark or garish colours completely so my usual concern is the depth of shade. In the store there is bright white lighting, so I pick a shade then go for one or two shades lighter. Otherwise, that colour that is perfect in the store may be a shade or two too dark at home. Getting the sample can to check first is the best thing to do, but I would rather avoid two trips to the store for paint and try to wing it.
Uh….my basement is FULL of paint samples. Every color.
I’m the opposite with paint samples and take 20 similar samples and don’t decide for a month lol
Great tips! My main room is kind of transitional coastal I guess, but my BR is slightly more glam, just a bit, like with fluffy faux fur pillows and rug. But the color palette is pretty consistent. I do like all white walls cause it’s such an airy, clean look but I sometimes see major color on walls like emerald green or ink or even black that looks amazing but I wouldn’t want to do a whole house in a strong color. Maybe just an accent wall in the main BR? I also would be totally fine with a blush, peach blush, or maybe light salmon color on all walls for the BR. What’s your feeling about one BR with color on all the walls. That color would be in other places in the house.

I am looking for a home to buy and the thing I notice the most with people’s décor is TOO MUCH STUFF! I feel like I’ve walked into a department store and there’s stuff just all over the walls and tables and cabinets and I can’t breathe! Did I walk into someone’s home or did I mistakenly walk into some flea market and all of this stuff is displayed for sale? Overwhelming and no place to rest your eyes. It’s like people think a 4×4 inch blank wall is hideous and needs to be covered with something immediately! Sometimes less is best.
