Okay, I am shocked for HGTV to recommend using candle holders to hold food – not just any food, but guacamole that is able to make 100 percent contact with the glass candle holders. Candle holder are NOT food safe and some may contain lead can be poisonous!

"Unexpected serving ware" is a great idea; looks fantastic – but are these items food-safe? Manufacturers of vases and candle holders didn’t have food in mind. Glasses that hold candles are actually often, if not always, labelled as _NOT_ safe for food or beverages. There are a lot of fun, safe options out. Maybe insert a food-safe liner? Vintage is a cool look, too! 🙂
