David and I were excited to return to UNA, my alma mater, to decorate the historic home of UNA’s President. The home was built in 1940. It was patterned after English and American Colonial structures. With the home’s history in mind, we wanted to keep the decor traditional in nature. The Kitts’ had a lot of decor on their own, so we worked with what they had available and filled in with some of our merchandise. Current President, Dr. Ken Kitts, wife Mrs. Dena Kitts, and two sons, Colin and Corbin reside in the home.
I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Within six months of graduation, I found myself employed by UNA. I served as Coordinator of Academic Advisor for six years. I spent the next six years as Assistant Director of the Career Center. While employed at UNA, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling. I enjoyed my time at UNA, and it will always feel like home to me.
David proposed to me in Wesleyan Hall, featured in the video, in 2005. We married a couple of weeks later when we eloped to New York City. We will celebrate seventeen years of marriage in February 2022.

I’m glad to hear that David didn’t go to College, because he knew what he wants to do in his life. My friend went to College and never worked one single day in his life, in the profession he graduated from College, and now he’s $54,000.00 in college debit. He told me, was a big mistake he made. I think college is not for everyone. Because I know many people who make more money without College degree.
