carpet keep allergens out of the air???? Seems to me if you want to keep allergens down you have hardwood or tile and vacuum. We’re about to move into a rental house that had a dog in it, it has carpet in the bedrooms which has me concerned….thinking of putting a large rug over the carpet to keep the dog dander contained under the rug.

I’m 20 years old and discovering that I want to become an interior decorator. I have my first internship with a design firm and had my first "client" a few months ago. I just discovered your channel and I am OBSESSED. I seriously want to design decor and furniture as well as decorate homes but I have no idea how to start all of that.

If you have kids, and even if you don’t, you shouldn’t wear shoes walking on carpet. Kids roll around on it, sleep on it, pick up food from it, etc… you bring fecal matters, bacterial, ecoli, and a bunch of nasty stuff with your shoes, so why would you want to walk on your carpet with your shoes on and add way more disgusting stuff on it especially for kids. I don’t understand Americans.

How do you clean the floor and rug under the furniture if the furniture is sitting on top of the rug?

  13. Melissa on March 31, 2021 at 1:08 am

Can u do a video for choosing the right colour and style rug for the living room please.

  14. notsniw135 on March 31, 2021 at 1:08 am

No carpet and rugs for me. Too high maintenance.

  15. Emily Rad on March 31, 2021 at 1:10 am

loving this series! what size rug is under your bed? I have a king, and I know the traditional wisdom is 8×10 minimum , but that feels like it will take over the whole space…

  16. freshnewday on March 31, 2021 at 1:11 am

Thank you for the great informative video. I’m wondering how carpet keeps allergens out of the air. Could you explain this if you have time? (I always had heard that hard flooring was better for people with allergies, because everything that falls to the ground can be vacuumed up versus getting trapped below the carpet / carpet pad?)

  17. 123cindyb on March 31, 2021 at 1:11 am

Great information! I was wondering what kind of space you would choose a round rug for? Also how do you judge what size the fit under a bed? Love your videos!

I have a small room, what type of rug would you recommend to make my room look bigger?

  19. alittlebitofjessica on March 31, 2021 at 1:14 am

This did not help me decide on the size of my rug, 5×8 or 6×9. I can’t just put wall to wall carpet on my rental 🙁

  20. rneustel on March 31, 2021 at 1:14 am

These tips are great! I like how you tell why you do something instead of just saying do this or that. Do y’all use double-sided tape to anchor the corners? They look so flat.

I’m just planning to re-arrange my room at 4 am

Great pointers! We are interested in layering rugs in our downstairs (halls, kitchen, family room). Would you recommend mixing textures/patterns or match rugs? Our home is pretty open concept in the sense that you can see 2 of 3 rugs from any position.

  25. Wanda Richardson on March 31, 2021 at 1:23 am

Carpets and rugs are known causes of many allergens.

  26. Angie Luna on March 31, 2021 at 1:24 am

I was hoping for more specific information on layering….if I have a jute rug 8 x 10 then what size should the top rug be to ensure it’s proportional?🤔I love how Shea lays down a jute rug then another in top in her living/family rooms👌

  27. Mel N. on March 31, 2021 at 1:27 am

Her decor us beautiful, but she is obviously is working for the millionaires. Who sells pillow covers for more than $200.00 and rugs for $6,000. And can find the same things and better for less. Is ridiculous.

  32. Marion Sanchez on March 31, 2021 at 1:30 am

Anyone knows the type of carpet that is used in the kids’ bedroom? At 1:45

  33. N-96 on March 31, 2021 at 1:31 am

carpets are not healthy. you need to read about dust mites. and how they induce the risk of having allergies especially asthma for kids even though if the kid himself is not genetically predisposed to it.
i love your designs they are amazzzzzzinggggg, and you are such an inspiration for me, but i just could hold myself watching you filling the home with all these carpets. > medical student problems 🙂

Need an area rug to protect carpet around a sofa against cigarette burns. Wife has TBI and drops them occasionally. Can you suggest a material? And yes efforts to get her to quit didn’t work and would rather replaced the rug than the carpet at the rental unit.

How do you keep the rug next to the kitchen sink clean?
