This extension basically gives you access to a number of different dynamic component options for Kitchen and cabinet modeling. These can be extremely helpful for designing and creating any room that requires cabinets.
The way it works is fairly simple – you open up the SketchThis window, then you select the kind of cabinet you want. Once you’ve selected it, click on it to bring it in to your model. This is very similar to bringing in components to the 3D warehouse.
Once you’ve brought your cabinet into your model, you can then make changes to it within the dynamic components option of SketchUp. You can change everything from width, to height, to depth, to number of drawers, doors, etc.
In addition, by going in to the doors section, you can also adjust the kind of doors included on your casework by selecting a new door type, then clicking on your dynamic component. I have noticed that this doesn’t always work super well with the doors on our drawers.
There’s also a library of crown and base molding profiles that you can use to extrude within your models.
There’s a few different sink models that you can bring in as well – these seem to be cut face components, so you’re going to have to mess around with your counter a bit to get them to mount properly.
There’s also a series of materials that you can download and sample with the materials tool, then apply them to your cabinets. There’s a collection of wood materials for your cabinets, countertop materials, and also flooring materials. These can definitely be helpful when texturing your model.
Finally, there’s a few different pull options that you can swap out as well – you can either swap out all pulls in your model at once, or you can adjust them individually.

Great program but have a look at Cabinet sense plugin for sketch up. All componets are dynamic and it gives you the option to export all parts ready for the cnc with all holes to holes ready to drill and dado is and rabbits. Customize all hardware drawer slides pulls handles.

  17. Rachel Merrill on July 17, 2022 at 12:24 am

Just want to thank you, Justin, for how much you’ve helped me today with this and your Sketchup essentials video. I am a novice woodworker taking on a kitchen cabinet project and have spent hours and hours searching for affordable software to transform my pencil sketches into a helpful planning sketch. You just saved me time and money (I did buy the kitchen plugin extension) and really appreciate what you’re offering on your channel!

I try and open the download and it says "Does not appear to be a Sketchup Model!" Any tips?

  19. masood608 on July 17, 2022 at 12:27 am

  20. salocin911 on July 17, 2022 at 12:28 am

I have a Mac and am currently using the WEB hosted version. Is there a free installation of sketchup for mac… It’s saying I can’t run plugins on the web version.

  21. Thomas Hearn on July 17, 2022 at 12:30 am

Many thnaks Justin, this looks ideal for my small joinery business. I read in the comments below that the plugin creates dynamic components, does this mean that it will work with the CutList plugin?

    Keep up the great work

  22. Mik Kel on July 17, 2022 at 12:34 am

Is this extension allow Meter or just only inche

  23. Nicholas Tovar on July 17, 2022 at 12:34 am

  24. yyn on July 17, 2022 at 12:35 am

coincidentally I am render a kitchen model now. Does this plugin work with sketch up 2017?

  25. androidfarmer on July 17, 2022 at 12:37 am

$25 per month now if you want appliances, materials, and other typically necessary stuff.

  26. yudaha on July 17, 2022 at 12:42 am

Do they have upper cabinets or the only option is to modify a regular cabinet to be upper?

  27. Alicia Bolanos on July 17, 2022 at 12:43 am

Can you design my addition kitchen?

  28. Ryan F on July 17, 2022 at 12:45 am

Price seems rather steep for the limited features you get with the extension. Some simple coding for an input dialog and some preset selections doesn’t warrant a $10/month subscription in my opinion, especially when it lacks manufacturers catalogs, standard sizing, material specs, quantities and pricing takeoffs, etc. I’d certainly pay $10 one time or a lower monthly fee, but asking $10/month for this is pretty ballsy of the dev.

  29. David Šmíd on July 17, 2022 at 12:46 am

It’s actually a great extension, but the support is horrible. If you decide to pay for this, just know that if there is an issue, you will get no support or it will take weeks to get a reply.

  30. Tyler 19XX on July 17, 2022 at 12:47 am

I downloaded a kitchen set from the warehouse. When I went to customize a single cabinate (scale it) it snapped back to the original size it was. any tips or info on this problem?

  31. Андрей Дубовый on July 17, 2022 at 12:50 am

Где ты так хорошо на английском научился говорить?

  32. Walker N. Picker on July 17, 2022 at 12:51 am

Being "cloud-based" what happens to this extension is the firm goes belly up?

  33. Ockert Mostert on July 17, 2022 at 12:51 am

    The Plugin doesn’t work….. any advice ?

  34. Georgy Tarasov on July 17, 2022 at 12:52 am

Ненужная хрень. Всё это можно с таким же успехом хранить в собственной библиотеке, растягивать до нужных размеров.
В общем эта программа, на сколько помогает, ровно на столько же обременят. Пожалуй обременят больше, чем помогает.
