May I ask where do you find all your lovely capes? I love them. Seems like I have a hard time in finding them.

  2. Hemali P on June 7, 2021 at 4:34 am

we have a mudroom from garage entry to kitchen and an entry foyer, any tips on what to use where? We are also the same way with no shoes in the house 😅

  3. Arlene Novelas on June 7, 2021 at 4:34 am

Maybe you can place magazines there, too!

Nice entry hall with lots of space. Great ideas too. Thanks.

Julie, thank you for all your amazing videos and tips. Wish I could higher you here in NY! Question: How do you deal with a very open (a fishbowl type) entry with not one wall spot for any console or closet right next to the door. We are a family of 5 so you basically walk in a "sea of shoes". Looks horrible. SOS! A console and a decorative shoe storage ideas needed! The entry goes straight into a sunken great room. No walls. Glass all around the two story front door

I love this! Where did you get your grey console for your entryway?

  7. Danielle Meridieth on June 7, 2021 at 4:40 am

We have a mid century modern house and the space to put a table/chest is very small (15-28" wide and I can do 30-40" high). We have a very old table there right now, but it doesn’t fit the vibe of the house and not what I want people to see first thing when they walk in. I cannot for the life of me find a table/dresser/chest to fit in the space. Any suggestions on off the wall places I may look? I love your videos!

    Hey Julie
    Great video x
Above my console table I would like to put a mirror however it will be reflecting storage cupboard door is this OK feng shui terms?

Hi Julie I love all your wonderful tips and advice. Greetings from Ireland. A quick question. My entry hall is a space that bothers me. I want it to look stylish but also have four kids so it needs to be very functional to keep my house clean. At the moment I have a shoe bench and hooks to the right of the door just as you walk in. My house is a dormer so has very high walls up stairs and to the second floor ( stairs on the left in front of you as you walk in.) I have a console table kinda under stairs near entry into the living room. I’m considering moving the shoe bench and console around so the console is the first thing you see when you walk in. Do you think this is a good move or would you leave the shoe bench near the front door? Really hope this makes sense! Thanks.

Moving into a new apartment soon I am intrigued by feng Shui Thankyou fuu I r your helpful information 🙂

Hi, my entry is straight into my lounge/living room & it’s an awkward shape because of Door & window placements. Any future videos on this type of problem area would be great

  12. Labionica romero on June 7, 2021 at 4:46 am

Hi Julie I love your videos so much, I just bought my first home, I would like to keep it nice and clean always. How do you ask your guest to remove their shoes without making them feel uncomfortable?

  13. Maria on June 7, 2021 at 4:48 am

    Thank you🥰

  14. Tracey White on June 7, 2021 at 4:49 am

How would you suggest I style my entryway when I park behind my house and come straight into the kitchen? The only time I really use the front door is to get the mail. The kitchen has a small alcove. The front door has a very small foyer. 95% of the time guests come in the front door. Thank you!

Hi Julie, Love your channel! Huge fan here! I was wondering if you can offer any advice. I have a 10x10ft entryway with a blank wall facing the door. There is a mirror on the left wall and a bench and cubby on the right wall. Any advice for the empty wall? If artwork, how big? Thank you, fellow OC resident.

  16. Cheryl Ann B-D on June 7, 2021 at 4:50 am

Any idea where you got the slim entry console with drawers and room for baskets? Thanks!

  17. Sus Yeung on June 7, 2021 at 4:51 am

Loved that you showed inside the drawers (love that sunglass drawer – where did you source the dividers?). Can you also comment in what order would you place a 1. 3′ shelf (looks like this https://www.potterybarnkids.ca/classic-shelving 2. rectangular mirror (36 wide, 24" high) and 3. this mudroom bench Teca https://www.crateandbarrel.com/teca-storage-trunk-bench/s661734 I can’t figure if I should place the shelf above the mirror or below the mirror. I would love your thoughts on this. (I have 9′ feet high ceilings, small condo). I forgot to add that I have the Umbra flip 8 hooks at 3.5′ high (for the kids) just above the bench. Much thanks

  20. Karina Liao on June 7, 2021 at 4:54 am

Love this! I have a 4 cube “console” but no mirror and i have a tiny coat closet. Love the tip about comfy slippers for my guests. Also doggy mom life! I LOL’d at the baby wipes and pee pee pads because that’s what i store as well!

  21. shoshana bloom on June 7, 2021 at 4:55 am

That bell 🛎 is nerve wracking. Please don’t use it. And music too loud. I would just like to listen to you

  22. Katrina Ford on June 7, 2021 at 4:55 am

Love the hot pink console. One thing I noticed Julie has in her entryway but failed to mention is that you should have a mirror. I think it helps to make what is usually a small space seem larger and also gives you a quick final check of your appearance before leaving the house. I also love the idea about slippers for guests. We are also a no shoes household. I think I may borrow that idea!

  23. Ranjeeta Nath on June 7, 2021 at 4:55 am

Indian household here, and we also have a no-shoes-in-the-house policy and provide guest slippers 😊 Our previous entryway wasn’t even a real entryway. Our front door opened right into the tiny living room. We had a nylon/plastic shoes rack from Costco for our most-used shoes. Tucked away in the garage, until guests came over, we used an inexpensive ikea garment rack for guest shoes and coats. Our new house has a large and proper entryway and we can’t wait to add a settee or bench and a real console for storage. Thanks for the ideas!

  24. PKHOKIE11 on June 7, 2021 at 4:55 am

My entry area is small so I need to figure this out…

  25. Michelle Simones Moenkhaus on June 7, 2021 at 4:55 am

Never thought of using a cabinet or console that has drawers and a bottom drawer to hide shoes. We have a shoe bench but it is not functioning well for us. Need to hide the clutter.

  26. Sar Haz on June 7, 2021 at 4:57 am

I have a tiny entryway. It is parallel to my garage so it is very long and skinny- only 4 ft wide and 12 ft long. I’m afraid to put any furniture in it because it is so narrow but I want storage. Should I just do a shelf with hooks? Can I use a mirror to make the space look wider?

  27. Shawn Davis on June 7, 2021 at 4:57 am

Thanks for sharing your tips. I’ve been trying to find an entry way cabinet to hold shoes, and organize but my space is so small and I have plaster walls that I can’t drill into – I’m a renter. But I will continue looking; I love the dresser you are using – and I don’t like pink 🙂 But it looks really great in your home. Thanks again.

  28. AK on June 7, 2021 at 4:57 am

I think everyone’s house should be Asian. Shoes in the house is disgusting.

  29. Kirstin Crocker on June 7, 2021 at 4:58 am

what if you and your partner/person you live with has a load of coats and jackets and no space to put them anywhere else?

  30. Francisca Kamau on June 7, 2021 at 4:59 am

My entryway is like our mudroom, I need to figure out how to store the kids and adult stuff.

  31. Amaysin Fitness on June 7, 2021 at 5:01 am

LOVE the console with the multiple drawers. I am a stickler for shoes off and really love that shoes won’t be visible. Couple of issues: small entryway and to get to my patio, my guests would have to retrieve their shoes. Any ideas? I did purchase an older entryway table and mirror via FB Marketplace and though it can house my keys, I still want a place for guests to put their shoes and not have my entryway too cluttered. Thanks in advance! Still loving your channel and using as many tips as possible throughout my newly purchased condo! 🙂

  33. Joelle Fang on June 7, 2021 at 5:04 am

From a feng shui perspective, would it work to put the mirror on the other wall, where you have the hooks? I want to put an entry mirror in my house, but that’s the only wall I would be able to put a mirror on.

  34. Cari Smith on June 7, 2021 at 5:04 am

Your videos are so inspiring! Especially since my husband and I are moving soon and I wanted new ideas to make the new house ours. I do have a question about exterior doors. The back door to the new house has carpet that runs right up to it. Is it weird if we cut part of the carpet and create a tile landing around the door?

  35. Vanna Kham` on June 7, 2021 at 5:04 am

Any suggestions on what to do if the front entry door opens directly to the stairwell? Its just bad Feng Shei I think.

  36. Theresa Brown on June 7, 2021 at 5:06 am

I see the mirror was off to the side and not facing the door😉

  37. Joyce on June 7, 2021 at 5:08 am

    Thank you love your work

  38. Gracie Cervantes on June 7, 2021 at 5:08 am

Would you still recommend having a coat rack if you have a coat closet right at your entry?

  39. Suzzette Turnbull on June 7, 2021 at 5:09 am

The entry way is next on my list. I’ve been thinking about your advice on listing how I use spaces functionally. Like you, I take my shoes off upon entry and I also need a console to set keys, etc. I’m planning to put a mirror above the console.

  40. Thomas Conoscienti on June 7, 2021 at 5:09 am

Great video love it as usual. So I I’ve always I asked my guest to take of the shoes in my home as well have you personally ever had a friend or family member refuse or expressed that they did not want to remove their shoes for whatever reason if so how did you deal with that situation if not what would you recommend or your advice for that situation be also my entryway is not very large but I do have a coat closet which is a good size my idea was to put a credenza with a mirror above it possibly a white marble with brass accents and also a bench for gas to remove their shoes and currently have UGGs slippers for Guest I will have wall-to-wall white carpeting which would be another reason why I would request everyone to takeoff their shoes and it is also cleanliness as I do not like to trap dirt in the house but also for the entryway I was thinking about putting a small area rug there as they enter before they takeoff their shoes maybe some thing black and gold or some thing with a little color versus the white carpeting but something to match the white marble and brass. Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome thank you again hope you have a wonderful day Hope you and your family are continuing to stay safe and healthy

  41. PiliC Kuderer on June 7, 2021 at 5:22 am

Julie. What should I do if the first thing that I see when I open the house’s door is a closet? What do you recommend?

  42. Dana on June 7, 2021 at 5:23 am

A word of warning. If anyone’s entrance door has a letter box (like in the UK) & they have a console or table with a bowl for keys , please remember thieves will use a stick & hook to lift the keys! Put the bowl inside the top drawer!

  43. Christine Whitehead on June 7, 2021 at 5:23 am

Yes yes yes…. Super Awesome. I keep a sock basket in my entry way. One for the ladies and one for the gentlemen. Guest are welcome to drop them off in the exit basket when leaving or take the socks with them. C:0)
