Love the style , but I would never mix grey with orange-brown . The grey should be banned !!!

A lot of old wood projects are topped with a tinted lacquer.
I use Restore a finish on many things. I have several Howard products. You should consider using the Howard wax afterwards. All that woodwork is going to need to be maintained so it does not crack or become dull.

I laughed when I saw your little golden quails. I have a set, there are 3 and it is a set one would do at a pottery class where you bought the blank piece and paint and fired it yourself. My mother in law had painted them, also gold, she did them I do believe in the late 80s early 90s.

Way late on this but I recently learned that paint stores (actual paint stores like Ben Moore) will custom match stain if you bring in the original sample and the new material!

I like vintage brass knobs and locks. The one on my front door finally broke last week which has been there since my great grandfather built this house so that was sad. It had concentric circles on the knob and I thought it was super beautiful but no one seems to notice those details.
The white, black, (and brown) porcelain knobs are attached to my extremely old buildings outside with mortise locks on, not in, the door.. And I noticed the other day, the black knob is starting to have a faint purple pearly sheen on the protected inside which is pretty cool.
hi im new to viewing your channel and enjoying watching all your things,, I found mixing coffee <Nescafe granules> in too a stain to make it darker by degree per spoonful . I eventually got my colour that i needed on my frame
