Kepp in mind the grippyness of new all terrains wear off pretty quick. Sunlight and heat also dries them out and advances the loss of traction. New tires however are amazing. All terrains are best way to go.

Next time with a heavier vehicle go with LT275/60R20 (Light Truck) instead of P as in P275/60R20. The LT will last longer and be tougher for the long haul. Great video and coverage. Have fun.

  5. Unknown Commenter on December 22, 2021 at 1:20 pm

On snow and ice, trust nothing! Tires are great. Brakes are nearly useless. Sharp turns are nearly useless. Slower speeds are great!!! Learn about ‘black ice’, as it will sneak up on you. Patience is truly a virtue, when driving on these types of surfaces. Also, as you have no schedule, you can easily wait for the roadway to be treated and the treatment to work for a day before you set out. Be careful, as one good crunch will wreck your livelihood.

Don’t ear the burnt parts of yr taco as its carcinogenic, very bad for health.

    Tip for winter windshield….
Vinegar and water (3/4 Vinegar and 1/4 water) spray on windshield before freezing temps. Helps windshield stay frost/ice free. Granted you might smell like a pickle but its an easy tip. Love you’re true colors. They shine bright. Happy exploration!

Thanks for reminding us how beautiful it is to be carefree and joyful ! I had many similar experiences when I was younger and took on more and more responsibility. You have reminded me of those times so well . I am in the process of winding things down and starting van life ! Nature has always been a major part of my life ! I am ready to go back full time !! Snow is fairly easy driving ,ice not so much . Stay safe Anna .

If you ever have an issue with your doors sticking, buy some silicone spray and spray the frames of all your doors especially your slider..b safe and take care. Always check the weather forecast.

Hot chocolate is the answer for many problems. I flew into Salt Lake City from Southwest Florida, I was wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt, and it snowed. It was quite the experience.

  29. Sharon Cullen Art on December 22, 2021 at 1:48 pm

I think it is wonderful that our country offers every climate imaginable. You can be in Hawaii, in the tropics, or Florida, the desert, salt flats, snow, walking on top of a huge active volcano in Yellowstone, or whatever. We are so blessed here. And someone when you hit the Midwest in summer come to Michigan and your around both sides but if you live desolate make sure you come to our upper peninsula. It is so beautiful. Go to Mackinac Island pronounced mackinaw, and cross the 5 mile suspension bridge connecting our state. At I’ve time it was the biggest in the world and many have lost their lives on this bridge from the time it was being built to the traffic event of a high first of wind that took someone over the side to her death. There are restrictions so on windy days they close the bridge. But it’s beautiful.
Oh and if you’re ever stuck without an ice scraper, we Michiganders use a credit card or other plastic card and they work pretty well. Also don’t pour water on your windshield. That snow on the ground is perfect throw it all over your windshield and then run your wipers.

  30. kengelina on December 22, 2021 at 1:51 pm

The snowwwww 😍 I miss it so much, Aussie summer is stupid. 😂 Colorado must look amazing this time of year!

  31. carol chambers on December 22, 2021 at 1:51 pm

    OK rapper

  32. Perfect228 on December 22, 2021 at 1:52 pm

Lift up your wipers before the snow falls. It helps a lot. So they are not bury under them.

Wow that snow looks crazy. Both beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I’ve always wanted to do something like that but due to circumstances (job, wife, kids) I probably won’t ever be able to do it. I’ll live through your eyes so thanks for the videos. Definitely be careful driving and have back up plans. Stay safe and warm Anna.

  45. Orbit Stephanie on December 22, 2021 at 2:05 pm

Wow, your vlogs are wonderful!! Folks say I’m adventitious for female solo VanLife, but you have me beat!!! 😂 I can’t see myself so happy in the actual snow ( in a van and not a house). Be safe and enjoy your adventures. Wonderful videos 💕💕🥰🥰🔥🔥

  46. chris devalcourt on December 22, 2021 at 2:07 pm

As some others have commented, all season tires are good for snow but not ice. They probably make your van ride better because they have much thicker treads that provide more cushioning than your old tires. And please keep a check on your air pressure. Tire pressure will vary at altitude and a lot with temperature changes. Always check pressure when your tires are cold. That is before being driven.
Never heard of street tours, but they look good!

You mentioned in comments that you had a Sunbeam brand electric blanket. Is it a 12v or 110v?
If a 110v are you having to run an inverter all night?
Seems like running the inverter would drain a lot of power?
Glad you and Mariah were able to get together to get through the cold loneliness!
    Be blessed and stay safe!
